Hello!

i've decided to try to attempt to find out what your opinions are on how good, or bad, news TV stations or 'programs' do their job. i, myself, has had quite a bit of horrible experiance with this. i'll describe the event to you all, before i proceed.

back in 2003-2004, a capitalistic man named Kurt WestergÄrd, an employee of the news paper called Jyllands Posten, a country-wide news paper, drew a drawing downgrade-ly depicting the muslim prophet 'muhammed'. the news paper then printed this, because they all had to make money, including the drawer.

this drawing was not well received, by muslims in denmark and especially not by muslims all around the world. to them, their religion is beyond 'of majoy importance', and it's written that you mustn't depict Muhammed, including otheres. therefore, they were all deeply offended by this drawn picture of him, and they were sadden by it. a few were perhaps even mad, especially because it was so down-grading towards him. alot of these muslims stood together, in order to make the drawer, and the news paper apologise for their disrespectful behavior towards their religion.

now, if rightful and normal behavior was tought to the drawer, and the news paper group, they'd stood up and said "Yes, we are responsible for this. while we did not mean any harm by posting this picture, we do achknowledge that it has harmed people around the world, and we do sincerely apologise for this."
however, that was not the case. rather than being reasonable, a fury of media attention arose and the drawer and the news paper group said that the muslims wanted to bring down our right to express ourselves, also known as Freedom of speech. the news media focussed on how our freedom of speech were endangered, and on how Muslims clearly 'over reacted' over this simple drawing. by doing this, citizens of Denmark failed to understand the true nature behind this. the news paper group, and the drawer, wanted to earn money. regardless of the consequences, and the muslims wanted to be respected. the media didn't make this clear to the citizens, instead, it was all about "our freedom of speech is attacked."

due to this unbelievbly stupid response to the Muslims, they got angry. attacking danish embassys. burning our flag, showing their disgust in how they've been treated. and when this happened, the lit-fireplace burnt up the entire wooden palace. Danes were now furious at Muslims, because the Danes didn't understand the Muslims. likewise, the Muslims were furious at the Danes because the Muslims didn't understand why they've been treated with no respect, and how noone has done anything to the drawer, and the news paper group.

during, and after the 'crisis', Denmark lost millions [DKK] in export, due to boycutting. additionally, Denmark has lost respect to Muslims in the world. it's even being said that if you travel to other countries, you're not entirely safe. because Muslims might believe that all Danes are racists. mind you, our Government protected the drawer and the news paper group, rather than stopping them.

what it all boils down to, is misunderstanding between groups of people. ultimately because of one man, and one business whose intention was to earn money, throwing away all respect for fellow people. they managed to mislead both Danes, and Muslims. by 'hiding' behind the freedom of speech. however, it is repulsive and disgusting to use 'freedom of speech' to offend or disrespect other people. it is ment for people to be able to say what they mean, but still be respectful and mind your fellow people in this world. and it mustn't be misused, like it was in Denmark. the result of all this is that Denmark is no longer a 'respected' country to many Muslims, and Denmark has a political racistic party, whose campaign was "defend our freedom of speech". if i'm right, they've got some ~20% of votes. additionally, Danes are very good at pre-justifieing people of other occurance than Denmark, i especially like how people are being called third, even forth-generation immigrant. as if they'll always be seen differently.
i've looked into wether or not Kurt, the drawer, and Jyllands Posten can be accused of having breached the Terroristic Restrainment Policies. but i'm not yet sure, our prime minister has broken our fundamental rules, set back in 18xx, aswell as having overpaid private hospitals. none has happened to him. it is indeed, an unreasonable world we live in. one that lack true justice.

that being said,
how do you think your news stations/programs/media handle the huge job of dealing with a matter fairly, or neutrally? mind you, the western world hears Americas views. and almost never how the rest of the world really sees it. but i could go on for a long time about these particular matters.

usually here, the far majority you hear about is how the world is being awful. a good way to cheer up people, indeed. but one think i do recent more than anything, is how Kurt said, "He was definitely a [holy warrior of islam]. he wanted to kill me, and then get killed, so he could go to [muslim heaven]. no doubt about that." for unknown reasons, no measures was put in to counter-argue his comment on the TV. the media doesn't properly know that they're responsable for how the country is operating. they want to bring the story that attracts most viewers, not what would actually be best. sometimes what they say is close to lies, if not actual lies.

what be your opinions on how the news stations manage to tell their stories with proper neutrality?
