Buttermilk Biscuits (serves: 12) 2 C. all purpose flour 1 T. baking powder ½ t. baking soda 1 t. salt ¼ lb. butter, cold, and cut into small pieces 1¼ C. buttermilk __________________________________________________ Heat oven to 425°F. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large mixing bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender, 2 knives, or your fingers until the mixture resembles course meal. Stir in buttermilk until the mixture forms a rough dough. Gently knead the dough 6-7 times on a lightly floured surface. Roll to ½" thickness. Cut into 2" rounds. Gather the scraps and repeat until all the dough is used. Bake 1" apart on a parchment paper lined baking sheet until lightly browned. 12-14 minutes. Serve warm. My wife handed this recipe to me and asked me to post it. I haven't personally tried it, but let me know if you do, and how you liked it. Revord |
