Well Mike, pleased to meet you :P
I kind of feel the same way. I look at a recipe as merely a guide. A good guide, but none the less, a guide. If a person knows what they are doing, they can make adjustments in their ingredients as they go. Perfect example is my bbq sauces I posted a while back. I almost never make it the same way twice, unless I hit on something that works great.
