Hello, I'm Icedolphin.

I'm 22 and a 90s kid. I grew up with the Medabots anime and recently got into the games when I discovered them in rom lists when I was looking for new stuff to buy for my GBC. Right now I'm playing through Medarot 2, which can be rage inducing at times.

I grew up with 90s anime (Sailor Moon, Digimon, Pokemon, Monster Rancher, DBZ, Medabots, Escaflowne, Hamtaro) but now I'm into 80s anime (Fist of the North Star, City Hunter, Jojo, LOGH), which I find to be my ideal art style for anime. Though I still like the 90s anime style because I like older anime art styles. I read some newer manga (Angel Heart) but I don't watch modern anime, because I hate the cold LCD colours and they look like they were cheaply made in computers. I like the hand-drawn, warm VHS-y look of older anime, and in my opinion the art is higher quality.

I'm a retro gamer, I go back as far as Atari but I generally don't go past Dreamcast. I mainly focus on 8 and 16-bit, but I'll play anything I'm interested in for the consoles I own. With very few exceptions, I do not play modern games because they don't interest me and there's very little to appeal to my tastes.

I live in the stone age, so I hope my opinions on games and anime won't offend anyone. =)

I love nostalgic 90s stuff, even if I didn't watch/play it back then. One of the reasons I loved Twin Peaks was because of the 90s aesthetic. I'm probably the only person you'll find for miles that still uses CRT TVs and has a working casette player.

Yo. Same age as me but mostly far opposite. This will be interesting for on the forum as I really tend to go with times, can be a bit of gadget freak, love games of any time with a completely twisted taste in anything.
As for anime (this will be fun), it's all more modern. The old just look soo deformed with odd colors. Few do have interesting concepts though.

Now the important part, MUSIC. You can guess from my name that I listen electronic stuff. that guess would be right. But on music terms, do you then also live in the stone age?

For me, I find that modern anime looks very simplistic and pretty much every show looks the same to me. I also don't like the over-reliance on CGI for special effects, I think it makes it look fake.

This might sound strange, but I'm not really into music, I don't listen to bands or anything like that. The only music I listen to is tunes I like from games and anime.

You're Dutch right? Do you speak any German as well? I was learning German in school but I'm starting to forget it now because I haven't used it for a while.

Guess on anime, this really a case of having different perspectives. Maybe we best leave it at that before we go at each others throat with flamethrower, plasma cutters and various welding equipment.

That really does sound strange. Not that I'm the most normal person, but yeah. To me being without music that I like makes all bored and stuff.

While German and Dutch are similar, no. A few words maybe and racist comments that will get me hunted down by a group of people with torches and pitchforks, but lets not count that.
I am Dutch, talk Dutch with an accent (can't really help it) and my writing in Dutch contains more spelling errors than the English (if it IS English) of the stereotype #yoloswag. ... Okay not that bad , but still.
My English however is pretty good. Also helps that English is a lot easier.

It's just casual discussion. I'm not trying to start a fight. ^^

Something like this is my ideal art style. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF7ercfkeOk

Yeah but differences in opinions on the internet... Or anywhere ever really, can heat up quickly.

Reminds me of the first Ghost In The Shell movie. Not really my kinda style.

Don't think I really have an 'ideal'. I just prefer the newer stuff. Well, most of it.

Some 90's also still seems okay. Though now there's so many different styles in the current day. Some look meh, most looks nice.

I also always watch my anime on Crunchyroll. Well, most. As long as it's on there. Otherwise, torrents.
