Ave RTK!

Actually came by to ask a question that I was wondering, but I'll turn it into an official hello from LeoHonorius while I'm at it ;)

Just wondering where you get your names from? They are names of real RTKs or something? Also do the pages, when made RTKs, given a list and told to pick from?

I know seems like a dumb question, but its one of those ones that I'm just curious about.

Anyway, must go, final TWPL of the season vs Brethren in a bit  :D

Regards,

Monarch

hi Monarch :)

we are actually allowed to pick are names and submit them for approval to the heads of the clan (King Elrich and Lional).

as for the names being that of actually knights of arthur, many of the early knights in the days of shogun took those names (Galahad, Gawain, Agravain, i don't know if Lional, Kay, Aelwyn, and Pellinore were also knights of the round table...), but other names are of course possible.

we do have a list of possible names, but we are lucky enough to have a say in our name picking.

see you around, feel free to have some candies... :)

Hi Monarch!

Some are the names of actual RTKs, some are names of old kings or just some mediaeval names... or not even that :D There is a list of some RTKs to help picking a name, but ppl can get anything, if it's approved by the King & his Advisor.

Most of the names are from Knights of the Round table. However i choose my page name from a Round Table Knight(Cador) and my RTK name i chose froma series of books by Terry Goodkind(The Sword of Truth series)

my name is chosen from an Arabic word meaning "Knight" or "Warrior." The Jerusalem part is an allusion to Galahad, who retired shortly before i became a Squire.

i hope that helped.

p.s. are you considering applying to RTK or something? :P

Monarch,

No, we are not given a list to pick from. We are simply told to pick a name that fits the clan, and then we must submit it to the King-Elrich. Back when I did it, I had to submit to the King (whom was another person at the time), Elrich, and I believe Rodney...if I remember correctly. Elrich and Rodney being the Realm Advisors at the time.

But you are free to choose based on your preference to culture and name, so long as it fits within the theme of the clan.

I myself, looked through a number of names. Many people choose based on names of Knights of the Round Table. I looked through some. But, I am part Welsh, and thus looked up Welsh names, and Welsh province names. I settled on Aelwyn of Breconshire, because the name continually stuck out to me, and looked better and better each time I saw it. The choice of "Breconshire" was between several Welsh provinces that seemed to fit the name, and this one sounded the best to me. There were some others, although I'd have to look them up to figure out what my choices were so long ago. Flintshire comes to mind actually...but this was back in like 2002 or so I believe, and I don't really remember so well.

Just some history for ya. ;)

That made for an interesting read mate. I remember years ago when RTK first appeared on the Shogun scene (i think it was) back then i was just a lonely Ronin, only dabbling once in clan stuff with an old dead clan called Majestic Ryouko.
Anyways if ever in the future I apply to RTK, ive already got my name picked out :P

P.S GL in our upcoming CWB series.

Yeah I remember...I applied to them myself. ;) I was recruited by Kokeno in Shogun, but then he disappeared for a while, and that was at the end of Shoggy, during the transition to MTW. IIRC, he may have joined here during that time. I started playing MTW, and met Paul, Lamorak (the first one), Goedfrey, Rodney...and occasionally saw Elrich. And joined here after getting to know them.

It is all about taste, Faith of the Fallen was very good however I think the whole series is very good starting with the Wizards First Rule.

Anywho i believe our namesakes have been firmly discussed :)
