Empire Total War

This is probably information available in the private threads here but there has just been word that they are adding a multi-player campaign mode to the game. The release is also being pushed back to March 2009.

I am actually somewhat excited about this game. I haven't been this excited about a Total War game since Rome came out. It also looks like they have learned from their past mistakes, IE not listening to the online community and pushing the game out before it is ready.

For those who want to pre-order the game, like I did, you can do it now on Steam.

Yeah... go figure.

On the other hand, RTK could probably use another month of hibernation.... hah.

It does look pretty sweet.

Well I figure Kay, Din, and I will be automatically good at the ship battles because of our time playing Pirates of the Burning Sea :) (sometimes I miss my days in my 2nd rate :()

I am glad they are pushing the date back though. I think one of the problems with Medieval, and one of the reasons why I didn't get into it like I did Rome, was because it just wasn't ready. There were too many bugs. Hopefully, they will bring out a product with just a few minor bugs.

One other thing I have read, although I don't know if this is confirmed or not, that if you pre-order it on Steam, you will be able to get the demo when it comes out in a month or two.

I guess you'll be able to get the demo without a preorder, promotion being the point of it

Ship battles will be there online?

Not sure about that, but I assume so. If that is the case, you know what I'll be playing online all the time :P

20th century more likely than Shogun 2. The campaign doesn't look worse than the current one to me.

I'd Say 50-60 tops (rome and m2 was 100ish?)

CA has stated there will be less for the sake of expanding battles, and usage of forts and such instead of seiging, go to next province and seige again was their arguement. though i highly doubt the ai will change for that...

As long as armies don't need to be supplied, this whole type of campaign is silly anyways, the old Shogun/MTW system was much better.

RTK will be as active in ETW as the game deserves... I'd guess about half our Knights and Squires will be around at the opening and a number will be rather active.

Of course, we'll get some applications from people we probably already know... ;)

What's going to happen with Bro? Is Pala about? Goldy was playing some NTWII some months ago... haven't seen any others.
