Great to see you are around Paul, I also remember Sir Jai. As for my user access, its not a problem, I did try to login but couldnt so I just registered again. Also RTKs, I dont think we was renown for winning tournies, just we was always there or thereabouts, (at least in my time at the clan) it was always more the taking part that counted. Glad to see that RTK did win a CWC title once I left :) Hope there will be many more titles to come for you fine knights

OK.. I've adjusted blitz and mel's titles appropriately.

Paul and Marco... did you know Kay, then? He's still kicking... been playing Mount and Blade, which is rather like the COD version of TW.

Yes, I remember Kay. Forgot his ronin name though. I also see Aelwyn was active not to long ago also. Hopefully he comes back. I played a much bigger hand in the recruiting and training of that generation of Knights. I really enjoyed training guys into our system of fighting. Also Cei our first Herald. Gosh I really miss those guys. Gareth, Gawain, Elrich, Lamorak. Also some of the non RTK vets like Uglyelmo, Kocmoc, Crandaleon, CBR, MizuYuuki, Bacchus, Hojos Hojo...etc

I believe Kay was Gawain squire, do you guys still run a knight-squire system? that worked very well in the past. I actually saw Gawain on messenger very briefly the other day, but he disappeared as soon as he appear.

I think they ditched the knight-squire system after they lost too many pages to exsanguination. Din needs his fuel.

Some say his habits of hematophagy have led to whole villages being exhausted... it also makes him want to play cod 24/7

I played a hell of a lot of NTW with Bachus.... had a great time with that guy. Saw a bit of Gawa... he's an Aggony, occasionally on Steam. Haven't really seen much of Ael in many years.....

Hah all that wit and it almost passed without notice - I overlooked the new posts in this thread. :D

Only headshots get gore in MW2, otherwise bad guys scatter money when they get shot dead. I should be rich by now, only my K/D is not so good and I keep dropping the money I have picked up.. sometimes it even gets irradiated! :yuk:

Hail Marco,

I think your wrong on this one. Yes we did not win Championships during your time but it was more than just competing.

I can only speak about the past but back then RTK stood for a high level of honorable play AND a HIGH level of playing ability. In those days if someone wore the RTK tag it was a given by the community that the person was a very good player irregardless of the name after. Yes we did have some players that were better than others but all played at a minimum high level. The Knight (mentor) Squire (pupil) system that we had back then took time but through training and practice all full members were playing at a high competitive level. Other clans were very top heavy with 3-4 very good/good players and then a bunch of average players. When going against them it was more important to look at the name than the clan prefix they had.

This is proven by the CWB Competitions we were in. Remember we were the ONLY clan to field a full 10 man roster. While we didn't win the CWB we did Win and Beat many good clans who fielded much smaller rosters who had their very best players competiting in 3-4 battles while only having 4-5 Competitors take part in the War. This while having rosters larger than ours.

For us back then it was a matter of pride and confidence that ANYONE whom we deemed worthy of wearing the Uniform of RTK was battle ready and that the clan would stand behind them, and that our members weren't given their RTK Uniforms they earned them.

Due to the fickleness of activity, and the problems of CA releasing a few bad titles.... RTK's skill has risen and fallen with the tide. In my time, we were at our best in RTW/BI... winning the belt in CWB, and playing in the final of CWC and TWPL. Damn close to winning every tournament we entered. We haven't come close to that since, although we made a good run at it in NTW....

We entered MTWII with a roster of players that looked more like the Yankees than anything else. But MTWII was truly a disappointment to nearly everyone and we lost 90% of our active membership within 6 months of its release....

We made a nice run at it in NTW, playing for the belt in CWB, and getting to the top few in CWC. And we've always relied on a crew of players... typically rarely getting any practice time as a team... lol. We make good battle plans, however... :)

I thought ETW was clearly implicit... lol.... where we lost 50-70% of the 10% we had left after MTWI.

But we had 5-8 playing at any point... just not enough to make it all work the way it is supposed to.

The real disappointment was MTWII, where we had an astonishing collection of stars of RTW/BI who dropped the game fast. We had a team in the CCS tourney that year and never fielded the same team twice, because of player exodus. Should've won our division still, but lost in that last amazing battle vrs SC, where the last guy standing was a single SC general... not the unit, but the general.

A classic, certainly.

We played in tourneys in ETW too, but the few hardcore players who stayed for NTW did better in comparison. The same strategy&analysis thing that's a good part of the fun was there for ETW too, and gameplay wasn't too bad either, even if rather short of brilliant.

If we had a flat map in ETW, I bet half the people would've stayed.....

unbelieveable that CA didn't give us a flat map... and the few maps that we had that were at all playable, were tiresome after a short while. There woudl've been quite a skirm game on flat maps in ETW, with the long rifles and the fast cav, which was the major ingredient missing from MTWII.
