no it seems pointless considering you can only do 3 battles and even with this you cant do more or it will crash.... what is the point of having other things open if your not able to fight more......

ok so you can press a few more buttons without being stopped.... its not adding anything its just opening a little bit more of the little that is there and there isnt much there because its a demo.....

what the hell is the point buldling stuff, starting out with a great army and alot of money (hmmm using a cheat for a demo....) if you cant even fight your enemy more than 3 times......

just because you see other ppl unhappy with CA and making their comments because of this dont consider it the case for every one else

Yeah I see what you mean. But if you read the thread his main objective atm is to remove the three battle limit(think he may have done that part already) and allow you to use your campaign troops on the battlefield. Or at least that was the impression I got.

Yeah I think the haters are a minority.

ok that might be his intention but it isnt what he has done and when he does then ok he brought something to the table that makes it worth wild, however ppl getting all excited over what has been done is showing the "fan boy" attitude that has been discussed.

and no the "haters" are not a minority not considering all of the disgruntled players, that were so into the first shogun and medi 1/VI ,that quit and left after rome because they felt CA ignored the multiplayer community. the total war community has always been a smaller community even in its hay day compared to other games out there however the actions of CA has really dwindled it. also i know for a fact that the multiplayer scene is noting at all compared to what it was when shogun 1 came out. CA has alot to accomplish to redeem its self in the eyes of many.

you can argue weeks on end if they are wrong for the attitude or not, yes ETW and NTW might have big improvement on Medi II however it doesnt change the fact that the bar is still relatively low from what they first began producing.

i mean honestly patching a demo......... i havent played that many varieties of games but if you have to patch a demo that means either you screwed up big or your just not really aware of what the fan base is expecting and your trying save face.....in my opinion patching a demo is a bad sign....even if you did spin it positive which i know that reply is....

No need to go off on a tangent. Read my OP. "IF anyone is interested". I'm not getting all excited about anything, not forcing anyone to do anything, I didn't even ask anyone to do anything. Just putting out the info.

To be honest I haven't even tried the mod.

Not sure why I'm getting all this hostility...

And yes, among people who buy total war games(maybe not among your friends), the "haters" are certainly a minority or the games would have stopped going gold before release.

I didnt put any "spin" on the demo patch. I only said there was one.

I'm just curious, you do realize they focused on MP this time? Thats what most of your post seemed to be concerned with.

hmmmm not sure how your getting hostility from me in my post, i was simply posting my idea and opinion on the subject since i considered we had the start of a discussion. if a few points are a tangent then i guess i should of rethought it

i should of posted the last post on the shogun thread, live and learn i guess

i also i thought you had tried the mod and that is why you were suggesting it, i was interested in why you interested in the mod

when i said you in the last line it wasnt directly meant to be you exactly, the you was referring to any one who want to put a positive out look on it, again just my mistake of not being aware of the audience

yea i understand they are focusing on multiplayer but it kind of seems like the focus that are putting is is just adding new glitz to it andnot addressing the concerns that players have and in the past or by adding stuff the community has the biggest interest in such as the style of maps etc

prolly already off on a tangent so i will stop here :mtwcheers:

Ok, first off, great post Lambert. I have to say I'm not used to people ACTUALLY reading and responding to my posts. Most times I find that if I don't limit my thoughts to less then four sentences I usually end up conversing with myself. So I apologize for getting so defensive.

Im mainly responding to being called a "fanboy". That implies that I'm somehow delusional and blindly follow every move that CA makes completely buying all the "spins" they put on their mistakes and that certainly isnt the case. Ive been let down by the lack of MP features just as most of you are. And I'm certainly no "boy". I'm embarrassingly old to be playing video games, but I hope to still be playing in twenty years TW:Rome12 comes out.

So ok I'm getting defensive again, but I do greatly enjoy the conversions I've had on the RTK forums the last few days. Wish I had joined the forum years ago...

Cheers! :mtwcheers:
