Its still not that much information. But as I've stated elsewhere it appears to favor very large clan. |

The only new info I see is on the points system. It doesnt say how many points you get for losing. Maybe you don't get any? Even so it definitely favors large clans... |

And anyone in your steam group is a part of the clan... so, yes. This will be all about the largest group. Perhaps they could make a clan tournament with a max on players. hmmmm |

Well... we were entirely right about how the MP clan competition is set. Although I don't know what is going on with any large zerg clans... are they winning? Playing?... it is all about large numbers, or collective hours played. That's it... that is the defining condition of winning... dominating, I should say. I'll post the final results, but the data already is clear. The only statistic that properly correlates to winning the tournament is number of wins, which correlates with the numbers of hours played collectively. Our group has 4 TW clans that I've heard of before (Dragons, 8th Inf, Imperial Polski)... and a bunch of no-shows. There is one group, called Edge Magazine, who are making an effort at winning one region, but really cannot compete. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edge_%28magazine%29 I presume they are going to write up a review.... they are struggling to hold one region, and I feel bad for them. lol. I haven't fought in that region yet, but it's a high traffic region. The Dragons... a good clan, with good players, good sense of strategy and competitive (they played excellent TW in NTW).... are dominating the competition with their hours played --they have 3 times the hours played as RTK, the 2nd place clan --they have less than a 50% win/loss ratio, vrs our 75-80% --we struggle to hold onto 10 regions as they walk all over the rest. Only 2 other clans have any regions at all...1-2 which they are struggling to hold. We might be wiped out by the end. There is no chance of overcoming the deficit of hours. We're fighting the largest French clan, and along with those listed as Dragons in their group, they have a number of un-tagged "members". That doesn't necessarily mean a damn thing, but I can see the value in adding ronins as adjuncts... build up some zergs. If that is what they are doing, they could just aggregate all the french players as they climb the ladder. |

Yep, I've heard of some of the groups with the big "clans" in, and they literally own the entire map. In ours we've got a bit of competition from croton and some other group but we still own 55 provinces atm, and may just own the entire map by the end. It's purely because of the hours some of us have put in and nothing else. |

Yeah, I played against 2 Dragons and then out of curiousity went to look at their w/l and they were not that great. They win more than they lose but not by a big margin. I would assume that a bunch of their victories also comes from just having uber units and general. Not to put them down or anything but they are pretty much grinding a win. Like you said Merc it is what we thought it would be. At least they are small numbered clan with highly active members. What happens in next round if/when we go against the Zerg/Borg whatever you call those Super Sized Clans. Another question. Would we be able to change our specialty next map? |
