*A resounding “thud” at the husky gates awakens the young guard from his post* *peering from atop the stone wall, the moonless night makes for poor vision and only the dark silouhette of a man can be made out by the guard* “I... I..Identify yourself..!” exclaimes the guard nervously... *the only response was the familiar “thud” on the thick door that had originally awoken the guard* “I..Identify yourself or you’ll fall where you stand stranger..!” Yelled the young guard as he peered over each shoulder in the hopes the other guards will hear him and come to inquire. “Thud”...... *the other guards had arrived to see to the commotion that had arisen so late in the night* “Who is it..? what is it?.” said one of the first guards to arrive as he peered over the wall as his eyes adjusted to the blackness below.. “Thud”... “Go wake the Officers” said one of the guards... “Uh..uh.. Not me..!” said the first guard.. “I’m not waking them up for this”... “Ok, I’ll go” said one of the other guards. *wanting to feel secure, the guard told everyone he met on his way to wake up the Officers of what was going on at the front gate* *by the time the guard returned, a small crowd of guards, soldiers and squires had amassed on the inside of the front gate* *an audible buzz could be heard amongst the men.. “what’s going on..? Who could be banging at the door at this hour.?” *suddenly another “thud” shook the massive doors and the men took a startled step back in unison”... “Open the doors!” *came a shout from the crowd* “No.. Wait for the Officers..!” *a concerned voice replied* *the heightened sense of morale and security in their numbers prompted the front line to remove the large timber key holding the massive gate doors closed* *with pikes, swords and shields at the ready, the doors slowly creaked open under the weight of whatever was pushing from the other side however slowly* *the doors finally opened enough to reveal the body of a man thickly clothed in a hooded cloak of skin and fur only to see him fall to one knee.. As if about to collaps* *The sudden drop startled the front line encircling the door enough to allow a gap for one of the officers to enter the ring made by the front line guards* “Identify yourself..!! “ commanded Lional..... *the man arose... lifted his arms and pushed back the stained, tattered fur hood of his cloak* *Lionals eyes widened and the word escaped his lips*..... Elrich......... |

If this is indeed Elrich, it will be the most fortuitous event that could possibly occur within RTK...

A very hardy Hail Elrich!!!!! It seems no one has awakened the Page Paul otherwise I would've indeed reconginized our Visitor without awakening our Officers. Excellent to see you Elrich. I was telling everyone else that Elrich was out hunting down Osama Bin Laden and that now that you completed your mission you were coming back home. Cheers, Paul |

'Tis nice to see your smiling faces... The journey has been long and hard but it has been good... I've had the time to settle accounts and put things back on track in RL. I've only just begun to fire up the old machine and in due time it seems. How fitting that STW2 has come out... it seems to have gone full circle. Prior to posting, I browsed the pages and it was nice to see what was started almost 10 years ago, to be not only up and running, but still a large part of the community. My hats off to everyone who believed not only in something, but the ability to make a difference via the online community. *bows* |

The clan is doing quite well and has continued its path through the TW epochs, as always, participating on all fronts of the community... competition, admining, hosting of tournaments, etc. Activity has ebbed and flowed for the whole time, of course, and we are now in a high activity time with the clan generally very happy with ShogunII, but for the bugs, which are annoying some more than others. We've recruited a few good peeps of late, and recruiting a lot of activity from within. A couple of the old guard have come back to activity, including Lio, Paul, and Kay... with continued activity from our RTW/BI crew and a number of great additions ever since. We jumped up to the Tier1, group 1 of the CA clan campaign, and then CA screwed up their servers relegating us back to the tier we just won. Rather amazed to see the activity and level of play.... although since 2v2's and 3v3's are quite buggy, we miss out on a lot of team activity and have to play more 1v1's than team, which is quite odd for RTK. Shogun has never the less pulled almost 5k battles out of this clan in the nearly 2 months shogun has been out... with an exceptional win/loss ratio. CWC is about to start, and we have 2 teams forming for that... CWB on the way. Glad to hear you found your way out the other side of those RL machinations ... and have time for TW? Lio should be on soon.... and expect a pm or two! |

Thanks for your kind words Merc... Dag.!!! you're alive.??!! Last I left, everyone was passing the hat around to send you some money to upgrade from your 1.0 ghz - 256 ram onboard graphics machine you were last playing with.!!! I've been online twice thus far and I must say... I still dont' know what to make of it.... As I've been away for so long, I didn't realize they had changed the platform with these "levels" and such... I should have read up on it a little more before going online and getting a serious pounding that left me scratching my head for quite a while.. lol.. Once I realized this "level" thing, it all started to come around.. lol.. Didn't feel as bad then. So questions..... as I've only been on twice, I noticed there are tons of different servers now.? you cannot see everyone playing unless you join one of their servers.??? who's brilliant idea what that...? The games... I guess there are some indication of what levels are expected to join or is it simply come one come all.? I don't wish to disrespect anyone or worse yet... get booted out.. which happened once... gah.!!I dont' recall a thread open here that discusses the likes or dislikes of the new STW2.. .is it something that you aquire a taste for over time.?? like beer and anchovies.? Appreciate all the feedback. *bows* |

We have discussions on the non-public forums. I think the overall consensus is that everyone likes STW2 but that the MM and quitters etc is the weak part of the game. It would be wise to play in some customized games before entering the Match Making (MM) battles. You can rank up, unlock units and gain veteran units just like you would in MM battles. |

There are positives and negatives. Overall, this is the best release since BI, or VI.... but the bugs. Some bugs are being resolved, others are taking time. Just had a big patch that portends to fix many of the bugs we've seen so far.... and several balance issues. The gameplay has changed quite a bit as the graphics have evolved, but you have the same morale dynamics, and the same skirm, melee, cav set up. Morale is more varied as we have this avatar and leveling thing that changes the dynamics as you rise up. Things chain rout at the beginning and hold like Knights by the end. You need to build that up to compete, ultimately. That's part of the efforts to make Shogun more addictive... that and the clan competition aspect. You must join a clan to play the Multiplayer matchmaking and get the specialized upgrades. Then all games you play in MM count toward the clan competition... this is how RTK has made it up to Tier 1/1, with a lot of effort to overcome clans with hundreds more players in their groups. Now, however, we are trying to concentrate on CWC and CWB coming up.. CWC is "classic mode" which you can play anytime without upgrades... it's old school style. CWB is not, and will require the Avatar/veteran units. And there is no way to actually win the world clan campaign, as there is no cap on group sizes, and they only count numbers of wins, so... we'd need 1-2oo members to compete for the top. We currently have a clan specialization of cavalry, but are considering switching to sword or bow. Not so easy, however. |

Yes you said that. The emphasis on honor and integrity is what initially made me want to join RTK 5years ago. The way that RTK members behaved in and out of game always impressed me. I still remember how skilled guys like Ghaz, Antoine and Dags were, and that they always were very cool and respectful in the lobby especially to beginners. Never bragged about winning or cussed online. For me that was what always was what set RTK apart. It was an honor for me to become part of the clan I so admired and respected. I didn't know if it was you or not at first. Now I do. Good to see you back in the castle Elrich... *bows* |

Those 3 were some of the 3 most respected peeps in the lobby. Ghaz was uber quiet. He didn't even have a headset for Ventrillo. Never saw Ant or Ghaz cuss publicly and Dags only cusses at his clannies when he's really tired... lolz The first of the 7 of RTK rules is no foul language. Ant and Ghaz were pretty much the epitome of a Knight in the lobbies. Humble, and personable. Ghaz is one of the skilled peeps in TW but he never bragged and never showed off. Those guys were what made me want to join RTK. |

Ok, seems I'm always learning something. Of course, CA doesn't just come right out and tell you these things.... seems you have to move your avatar around on this map thingy and then play multiplayer and if you win, you get the prize of whatever province you are invading... I'll get it one day... thanks for all your help everyone... *bows* |

Yeah, I suppose it's tough when you have to use a 4 foot keyboard because you can't see all those ""tiny" keys on a standard keyboard.
