The US vs Brazil game was the most amazing soccer match I've seen.... and the worst refereeing. Couldn't believe the final goal... well deserved. I'm definitely watching tomorrow....

I miss soccer but women's has very little interest to me. I don't like feeling guilted into watching women's sports because I feel pity for them. They would probably hate me for feeling pity for them, but the fact that a lot of people don't give a crap about soccer and even less about women's soccer makes me feel sad for them. I'll see the highlights on ESPN. Does anyone in Europe care about women's soccer? just wondering |

I agree with Blitz except to me it's not that it's "women", they're just not that good. The competition isn't that good. Soccer is already a slow game... It would be nice if DP would find some other clan site to dredge through... He reminds me of Ragnorak on sooo many levels. Or maybe it's just all the dead bodies in Houston's public water system poisoning him... |

That's funny...i actually thought the Brazil v USA game was some excellent soccer. The last goal was beautiful regardless of whether it was a man or woman that put it in. The header was actually 10% of that goal...the cross...was perfection. Beautiful touch on the ball to drop it right in...and all with 10 players and 30 seconds left. I think if you play the game you can appreciate how much difference one extra player makes and too play one down for 50+ minutes and win... Anyway, i'm looking forward to the France v USA match-up...kick-off in one hour! cheers, Sala |

US wins 3-1! Maybe if they just cut game time in half? |

i watched second halves of both games today. japan looked like the best team with their passing and possession. however, the women's game in general seems to be sloppier. slack defending, misplaced passes, and lots of space in the midfield. i have to say, though, that it was refreshing to see some soccer. i miss the premiership.

They are the best in the world at what they do, and the competition is tough. You may as well say college sports suck, or the olympics..... Anyway... go USA.

I can't begrudge the loss, as we lost that game not with lack of effort but a lack of finish or nerve. The number of missed goal opportunities by the US was hard to believe, and I've never seen a team miss the first three penalty kicks of a shootout. Saw a lot of missed penalty kicks in the Women's World Cup, which must have a lot to do with ball velocity. Sure makes a penalty kick less predictable..... Nice to see Japan get some good news....

Glad to hear it was a good competition. How a fan of 'american' sports can criticize soccer as being a slow game is so far beyond me i'm looking like the earth when he spins round it with his h4x0r fly1ng sklz. And i'm sure pete could give dp a run for his money =) hah. Whilst maybe prox and I could have a competition at saying the least with a large amount of words. |
