What do you do when you have just seriously fried your brain. When its more then just writers block and all of your normal inspirations don't help or work?

I feel like I have lost interest, yet I haven't. I have stopped writing to read, try drabbles or just stayed off the subject, gone off and watched movies (cried AGAIN in Steel Magnolias!), and done normal RL stuff.

But still, as soon as I open up word...Its nothing..blank...nothing happens. Then I'll get something...Write maybe 1000 words then its like I'm fried again..

How can you move past this kind of situation??

wooo.

Maybe, take a break? I KNOW this sounds bad, but if you really miss it(which you will!) You'' come running back with plenty of bunnies hopping mad.

Or enter HEAPS of challenges, and ask for specifics.

*nods* That's happened to me as well. And I agree with Ali. Try staying away from writing and concentrate more on reading and movies and inspirational songs. Trust me, it doesn't take long for the inspiration to come back again :) Just be patient and don't freak out.

Thanks guys. I'm just finding the burnout factor is lasting longer then I'd like. I do take time out...but still nothing...Its frustrating. I have everything in my head, its trying to actually write it out...I hit a brick wall. I even tried hand writing...All that did was prove that I lack the skill to write anything legible!

Marissa, I'm in the exact same situation. I feel like I can't write anymore, and I have no interest in it. At the same time, I have plotlines for original fiction stories in my head, but I can't write them.

I haven't written properly since the Secret Santa. I hate to say that. I've started a couple of one-shots, but I've been finding I just lose interest in them. Granted, this MAY be a partially good thing since I really need to be doing schoolwork this year, but it's still incredibly frustrating. And it's even extending to schoolwork...though that's nothing new.

So...I have no advice for you :cad: But I know exactly how you feel, the same thing's happening to me. Maybe it's something in the air? ^_^

Well, I'd like to advices. I hope this will help.

I'll take my time. I mean I won't force myself hard. Sometimes, I won't get any idea if I still pushed myself. I know I think I don't push myself, but sometimes my friends tell me that you actually push yourself. So, my advice is take your time.

If you think it's too long for you for having a break, well, maybe you can ask someone to help you for sorting what you need, I mean about discuss.

I had experiences about loosing my interest on somethings too, but in those times I just needed time to recover. ^_^

Don't feel bad, okay.

You'll recover soon.

:huggle: Cat! Its so hard to break this mold! Maybe it doesn't help with the fact that I'm cold, have heart burn, but starving and its 1:49am!!!

Thank you imellen :) I do take my time, I guess its just too much time that I have taken and can't get back into the swing of things? I'm not sure. I'm just hoping that what ever this is, it goes away soon.

What always helps me is doing a "Scribe Session". You close your eyes and relax for a second and then start typing all yoru thoughts- kind of like a journal, but they can be random words, sentences, names etc. and just keep going. Not only do they REALLY help handle emotions, but you're writing and that's what you want. After you've done that, and all the thoughts of life are out of hte way, I usually feel a lot better and i findit easier to write.

Songs and other things help too. :) I hope I helped some.
