Character Name: Laphias Shadestalker Race: Dark Elf Gender: Male Age: 342 Character Class: Rogue Character Weapons: He uses kunai, small shuriken, poisons and powders, and his two daggers explained below. Selker- Often used in his main hand, it is an enchanted dagger that extends about a foot from handle to the point of the blade. The grip is made of finely dried leather tied around tough metal, while the blade itself is fine, sharp, and clean. Down the middle is a dark streak about an inch wide that carries engraved glyphs up and down the blade. It has a powerful ability to sever veins and flesh with the use of corrupt magics, causing more internal and external bleeding for the target when biting into flesh. Sorbent- Adeptly named, it is about two inches shorter than its sister Selker, with a handle crafted of leather as well. However, the blade is more jagged and twisted that keeps itself structurally intact regardless of this warping. Glyphs also are found on this weapon, though they are smaller and appear only at the end and base of the blade. It has the unnatural ability to sap the energy of its intended target, eventually wearing him or her down until he can no longer fight. It is especially useful as an anti-mage weapon, as well. Physical Traits: Concerning his attire, he wears standard dark leather armor, lightweight and flexible for the shape of his body, and carries several pouches and vials on his waist that contain his kunai, shuriken, and poisons/powders. His body is mid-way between muscular and thin, and though he isn’t the strongest and hardy individual, his sheer speed makes up for these. His hair, like most elves, rests along his back a few inches past the shoulders while his grey eyes appear to glow when light is scarce (he can voluntarily stop this glow, however). A scar rests across his left shoulder, etched there sometime during his childhood. Advanced Physical Features Weight: 139 Lbs. Height: 6’0” Hair Color: A light teal Eye Color: Grey Skin Tone: Dark purple Markings, Scars, Tattoos: He has a visible scar across his left shoulder. Fighting Style: His attacks are silent yet ruthless, using tactics and the shadows to bring down his prey quickly and with little noise. When caught in true combat, he is adept with using quick, accurate strikes, often using kunai and shuriken at range, and kunai dipped in a poison of his choice in melee. He rarely ever uses his spells unless necessary or if he requires deception in his task, and only uses his enchanted daggers when in utmost peril. Mental Traits: He is a cold and distant wanderer who finds pleasure in the pain and death of others should the situation be appropriate. He isn’t necessarily evil, for he isn’t ignorant of the force of good to get his own ends met, though the same can be said for more evil mindsets as well. He has been known at times to be somewhat stubborn depending on the situation, and though he rarely speaks, his voice is deep and loathing. A shroud of mystery hangs over him like a blanket, for few are able to pierce beneath his emotional barrier and elicit more out of him, though usually those interested are too scared to even try asking. Reaching past middle age, he has just passed his pique, but is beginning to show the restraint and wisdom in decision making found in the more intelligent of his race. Strong Attribute: Dexterity Weak Attribute: Charisma Languages Spoken Common, Drow, Elven History: Little is known about Laphias to the majority of the world, only that he is a cold-blooded murderer. He has a very dislikable reputation, and has been seen nearly all over the continent at one time or another during the last three hundred years. And from what most people have seen, he has only become keener concerning his abilities over the years. Supposedly, his hometown was destroyed when he was an apprentice in alchemy, which explained his knowledge of poison and powder making. From those who witnessed the aftermath, they revealed that only one survived the destruction, whom is believed to be Laphias himself, though it is possible that others may have survived. The incident was made out to be a raging fire or a barbarian army that wiped them out, but no one really knows for sure. The only thing known is that it had a heavy impact upon him, and his violent and distant personality spawned from this. Purpose: Laphias was brought to the current time period via a wormhole to the past, created by Muller Redghar; as such, he is an outsider to the events occurring. All he knows is that the Unforgiven was created more or less around this time period, and plans to halt its course so that events in the future are not melded around their dire actions. Character Spells, And Attacks: Armor of Blades- Concentrating on his willpower, he can spawn a number of spinning, circular blades that automatically protect him from those who wish him harm, and counterattack with a vicious slash. It slowly drains the rogue’s energy like the illusions, but can potentially keep them up for a decent amount of time if his energy reserves are high. Summon Blade Fiend- An alteration of the Armor of Blades, it allows Laphias to spawn lethal, circular blades that formulate together in a kinetic bond. It lasts as long as the rogue can keep up with its energy requirements, and attacks by spinning like a top towards its opponent, and making contact with the opponent. If it is blasted apart, it formulates back together, but a powerful blast of sorts can dispel the ability. Ghoulish Grasp- The rogue’s only necromantic spell, Laphias can concentrate unholy magic through his arm, transforming it temporarily into that of a diseased, rotting limb like that of a ghoul. A swirling purple mist shrouds the arm in ribbons of energy that continually rotate around it like a core of energy, ending at fine points upon the tips of his fingers. The arm is also encased in a light, black hue. When it makes contact with an opponent, it paralyzes the target indefinitely, which can last up to five minutes, and also surges corrupted power into the target, causing great damage to the flesh (or whatever the target is made of). Due to its energy requirements, he is only capable of using it three times a day. Eyes of the Drow- More of a racial ability than a true spell, Laphias had unlocked this power halfway through his second century of living. Focusing energy into his already keen eyes, this ability allows him to see through solid objects and view Ultraviolet and Infrared light. Unlike his other techniques, this takes up only a nominal portion of his reserves, and thus can keep it activated for several hours before tiring.
