The Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse
Part 1:
The prophecy is fulfilled
The clashing of weapons rang through the air of the mystic city of The Angels of Origin. Blood drenched the glass city, forged from the tears of angels, and rained from the darkening heavens, their snow white wings littered the ground, and the city floor now looked like an autumn of the past when leaves fell from the trees, the feathers now turning a brilliant crimson red as the blood of humans and angels flowed freely from the bodies of the dead and rained down from the now pitch black heavens. In the distance a battle of epic proportions raged on, a single devastating battle that could turn the wheel of fate in any direction yet known to any man or angel. The two leaders clashed violently, swords sparking with each resounding clash, screams of agony and pain rang throughout the city of death. The angels enveloped the alter-angel and man, their desperation growing rapidly as the weaker ones were engulfed in the blazing fires, their burning bodies turning into ashes, their burning feathers, catching the wind and drifting lazily, covering the sky in millions of bright red lights like a colony of fireflies on a summer night. Their ashes circulated through the city streets, their intoxicating fumes blinded the city as their scent of incinerated bodies shrouded the warriors. The man took this to his advantage, readying himself to strike through the alter-angels head. In his foolishness, he left himself open to a direct stab to the heart; the alter-angel took this to his advantage and charged the man. The man finally left his thought trance quickly enough to see the alter-angel dashing toward him with his sword aimed at his heart. The alter-angel grinned manically as he saw his greatest dreams come to fruition; his sword pierced the man’s heart, blood trickled down from the wound and onto the sword, dripping into a puddle on the glass road. The man’s heart had already stopped beating, but he stared in to the alter-angel’s eyes, a grin slowly spread over his face, blood leaked out of the corners of his mouth, and he dropped his sword and cleaved the alter-angel’s wing off in a single fell swoop. The alter-angel screamed out in tortured agony as his wing was severed off and floated to the ground into a puddle of the man’s blood. The alter-angel’s pain slowly turned to fear as the wing rose into the air and the blood swirled up off the ground and molded itself into the shape of a man, the wing sunk into the back off the bloody image with a sickening sound of bone being thrust into bone, the bloody image started to solidify and two scythes appeared in its hands, one wing, no soul. The fifth horseman has risen; there is no escaping the end.
