What kind of music do you like?

Here's a simple question. What kind of music do you like? Just post your favorite genre, and if you have a favorite song, then post that too. Just remember to include the artist's name.

I like heavy metal.
Favorite song here has to be "Iron man" from Black Sabbath.

I like hard rock and some metal. I'm kind of picky though because most of the time I can't stand screaming. Killswitch Engage, Avenged Sevenfold, and Disturbed are my three favorites.

Everything. I feel the emotion that can be displayed in music can not be limited to just one genre. Of course what I choose to listen too also depends on my mood, or what I am doing.

Wow, not the best question for me, I'm a bit of a music buff XD.
I like:
Indie, Alternative, Ska, Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Heavy Metal, Rap, Hip-hop, Classical, Folk, you get the point though, I like music a lot.

I'm kind of with Vlancer on this, I like all music, although its usually from a technical aspect, its also based on my mood/what I'm doing as well.

Favorite bands:
They Might Be Giants, Goldfinger, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Neutral Milk Hotel.

The only band you have up there that I don't like is Dragoforce. I hate that band, mainly because of the KEYTAURIST. It's not a guitar, it's not a keyboard, IT"S A FUCKING KEYTAUR! Can you say gay? I also can't stand the lead singer's voice, it makes my ears bleed. That's just my opinion though.

Couple cool new bands that I found:
Epica
Kill The Drama
It's ALIVE!!
Children of Bodom
Draconian
Dr. Acula
Alesana
Brink fo Something Beautiful
Suicide Silence

Your ears are only bleeding because they're rocking so hard...

Anyway, while we're on the subject of foreign bands, TM Revolution is a pretty good Japanese band. I can't remember the names of any songs by them right now though.

It is almost a known fact that Dragonforce is the equivalent of "nerd metal."

To me, best song has to be "through the fire and flames"

Just wanted to point that out.

Dragonforce rocks, at least hate the lyrics but like the instrumentals, as I know a bunch of people do. Personally I think the lyrics kick ass too.

I hate everything about them, the lyrics AND the instrumentals. I guess I just don't like them or any other speed metal band. I like almost every type of metal, just not speed metal.

Like I said though, that's my opinion. You all can like the band, but I never x infinity, will enjoy listening to any aspect of that band. Plus, I don't think that they can even play their own music. It sounds like they sped it up digitaly, and it's obvious that they did that in the videos as well.

I don't like them.

*Side thought

The new album cover sucks as well. The only good part of it was that they, at least somewhat, pixelated their faces on the back. Best idea ever, block out their faces and it makes the cover ALMOST bearable.

*edit

On second thought, they may be bearable if I was high or drunk enough. Though prefferably both.

Few things:

1) They aren't speed metal, they are Power Metal.
2) They don't speed anything up, they're simply that good (at what they do, like it or don't like it they are great at their instruments of choice).
3) Obvious they did it in the videos? No...unacceptable.
4) Most of the stuff I dislike starts to sound the same, so maybe it's just a subconscious thing when you decide you don't like certain music. Then there is the music that, even if you do like it, it sounds similar (The Incurable Tragedy I and II from Into Eternity) but not exactly the same...However I don't hear any of that with Dragonforce, which would make sense because I like them.

Can we drop the argument and agree to disagree? I wouldn't have kept going if you didn't bash on them. You can keep your own opinion and I can keep mine, but let's not raise them up or push them down anymore. Please? Okay. Thank you.

I always thought it was speed metal. I guess that's just the way it sounds to me.
Yeah, I can live with that.

*Added note

Flak, I agree with you to some extent. Some classical and orchestral songs are excellent.
