I opened this topic because I am desperately in need of a good movie to see, one that isn't necessarily new, and also to share some movies others might not have seen and are missing out on.

To start off, my all-time favorite movie: Donnie Darko. It was released in 2001, didn't get much of a turn-out in theaters, but I saw it a couple weeks ago and was stunned. The movie had me thinking for days.

I can't give anything away as to the plot, because it would spoil the movie for you, but rest assured it was fantastic.

Another great one I saw a few months back was Children of Men, a movie about a semi-futuristic world where humans can no longer become fertile and the chaos that breaks out. Clive Owens was great and I was entertained the whole way through.

Anyone else? Reviews, suggestions, even what not to see?

I have been dying to see Bladerunner for years, but have never gotten the chance. That's one of my dad's favorite movies. I need to buy it or rent it or something. But Flak, any chance you've seen Donnie Darko? Seems like it'd be right up your alley.

Haters. It's a psychological thing. Plus, you have to start with one and work through all of them because they all interconnect to make a very good story.

Very good story? Bah, I hate the premise behind the Saw series, Grudge, Shutter, etc., all those horror movies are crap imo, but then again I was never one for horror movies.

Donnie Darko was an awesome movie, seen it a few times and each time it is either just as good or even better.

Blade Runner was amazing, I had always heard about it and one day decided to check into it, definitely did the right thing there, heh.

Personally I like all Will Ferrell movies, all Adam Sandler movies (whether they have him in them or if they are made by Happy Madison productions), all Broken Lizard movies, and the Jud Apathow gang or their type of movies, as far as your comedies go. Among all of those my favorites of each would have to be: Talladega Nights, Anchor Man, Blades of Glory, Don't Mess with the Zohan, Mr. Deeds, Grandma's Boy, Super Troopers, Beerfest, 30 Year Old Virigin, Superbad, and more.

Other comedies worth huge mention are any and all works by Mel Brooks: Spaceballs, High Anxiety, History of the World: Part I, To Be or Not to Be, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and probably more.

Along the lines of action: Any and all Die Hard, 30 Days of Night, Transporter 1-2 (3 is coming out soon, i think), most Jet Li and Jackie Chan movies, any and all James Bond, King Arthur, The Last Legion, Shoot 'em Up, Pitch Black & Chronicles of Riddick.

Others: Good Will Hunting, Stranger than Fiction, Tristan & Isolde, Ocean's 11-13, any and all Indiana Jones, The Mummy 1-3, Princess Bride, Little Rascals, Van Wilder, Harold & Kumar 1-2.

Many more, but these are the ones that come to mind when I think quality movies.

**In my opinion, though, out of all these good ones I put above, if you need a very good movie I am currently in favor of these over the rest: 30 Days of Night, Good Will Hunting, and The Last Legion. But if you want comedy, I would look at Mel Brooks movies if you are into the older style movies, such as the comedy of Airplane! or Police Academy, he has a lot of that sort of comedy, and it is sure to entertain.

Hmm...
I don't get out that often, but I do enjoy movies from time to time.

The Truman Show

The Triplets of Belleville

Last Samurai

Dodgeball

The Matrix Trilogy

I Heart Huckabees

Across the Universe

Gladiator

Conqueror of Shambala

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

The Art of Flight

No particular order there. I usually like most movies I see, but only a few make my favorites list.

You had the Full Metal Alchemist movie in your list, Inferno!
I love that movie, though in my opinion, the ending left something to be desired.

Hmmmmmmmm, other horror movies I would reccomend:
They by Wes Craven
and that's about it.
