Ign mailbags confirms that there's a Halo for the Gameboy Advance. But after reading it, it's in discussion.

Halo Advancements
Word around Quartermann headquarters is that the long-awaited Xbox sequel to Halo isn't the only time you'll be donning Master Chief's armor. The intel I've come across indicates that Microsoft has in the works a brand-new Halo title for - brace yourself - Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. This news comes as quite a shock to me too, folks, but like my momma always says - the more Halo, the better.

Not the most accurate source... until it was actually confirmed, for real, by IGN Game Boy's mailbag of June 10, 2004 (FYI, EGM's issues always arrive at least a month early):

Well, this was something that I've known for months about, but was literally sworn to secrecy by people involved (just like many OTHER things I know but can't say). But since it's been mentioned in another publication, I can confirm that, yes, Halo is in the works for the GBA. That's all I can say, on risk of having my fingernails ripped off with a bottle opener. - Craig, http://gameboy.ign.com/mail/2004-06-10.html

A few months after that, this boxart was posted on EBGames.com:

http://www.freewebs.com/ajain02/halods.jpg

It was taken down within a few hours.

Interesting, to say the least, considering that EBGames.com and GameStop.com were the first sites to post the correct boxart for Super Mario 64 DS.

I think all of this points to a Halo game possibly coming to the Nintendo DS in the future, or at least, one being possibly planned. As Craig from IGN said:

I'm normally against publishing "rumors" as news stories, which is why this is the first I've ever reported it...this is something I've known about for MONTHS.

So... in other words, don't get your hopes up too high, but also don't be surprised if you find Master Chief coming to a DS near you.

But who knows, it's in the talks right now

There is no Game Boy version of Halo planned, and none in production. It's very unlikely that such a version would ever happen for all the obvious reasons, and the less obvious reasons, that the ColecoVision talks fell apart and The Bandai Pippin version is taking up all our development bandwidth…

It's still a possibility. Last year it was confirmed but it was dropped from another reason. It can always be revived.

you don't know how bad microsoft will suffer if they enter a handheld market. They don't know that handhelds are not for a mature audience.
