the mighty cheesecake

i agree with every thing you have said... i am not catholic, so although i obviously think its sad that a person has died, i dont really care that much (no offence meant) but people die all the time and when there are people who are murdered or children that are starving and all the world can go on about is one man that is quite old anyway and to me is just another man i sometimes get annoyed...

Not true. So many catholics didn't even know how he looked like until they brought his dead body on the news. However it is true about it bringing grief to the people around the world.

Thats BS Zelos. He was by FAR the most recognizable man in the world. He's also the man who's invididually met the most number of different human beings in the history of the world. That doesn't however necessaraly make a him a great man and worthy of round the clock news coverage. Being the Spiritual leader of a Billion people around the world does. He helped bring down communism, he was the first Pope to reach out and try to bring other religions closer, and outright discouraged violence based on religious beliefs. He spoke so many languages and could reach out to so many people. He was the leader for so long that most people can't remember any other Pope. He was indeed a great man, and well worthy of all the attention he's getting from around the world, especially from non Catholics or non religious people (like myself). There's no way the next guy will be able to compare with him.

No, that is BS. Easily, he is not the most recognizable man in the world. Maybe almost half of catholics never knew how he even looked like. I'm sure they know of a pope but not him. I dont think he deserves nor should he have that much respect to be all over the news like that.

Do you plan on telling me how you have proof that "half" the people don't even know what he looks like?

He must not be very popular if the line up to view his body can be seen from space!

some of the things he did were incredible. Did anyone know that he was shot twice and had a near-death experience? He later visited the jail cell of his shooter and offered him his forgiveness. The guy was in tears. An amazing man.

Wow, Cancuks Fan, you're so smart. I mean you read what I say and then change it completely!

I said, not many catholics even knew how he looked like UNTIL he died and they wanted to all of a sudden go start crying. Thats why he has so many people seeing him because many of them just realized how important he was to them.

Anyways, I'm not going to argue any further because I could give less than a damn about this guy.
