do you think its going to affect the way we live in the near future? I found an interesting study here about what scientists think http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/science/04/08...ence/index.html In my opinion (IMO) I think that it wont affect us until 100 years. Temperatures only went up an average of 1 degrees and yu can't even recognize it. The only thing scary is the glaciers in the north as they are melting away,. |

The slight change in temperature affects far more then you think. Just because you don't notice it that much, doesn't mean it's having a major effect on the environment. You'd be amazed at how much a slight change in temperature can affect life in the ocean and on land. Not only is it causing the polar caps to melt, but it's causing climate change, and much more extreme weather patterns. Whether or not the Earth is a giant equilibrium system is still up for debate, but it really doesn't matter. Changes in temperature and climate are going to have drastic effects around the world no matter what. |

well, global warming doesn't really have any effect on earthquakes or tsunamis... |

on the contrary the increase in typhoons weather etc put more force on the plates........thus they're more liable to move........ |

ummm, no it doesn't. Weather has absolutely no effect on tectonic plate movements or the Earth's internal energy. A couple of 150mph storms aren't going to move continents:rolleyes: |

tectonic plates are caused by the earth itself. When they collide and form into mountains |

I didn't know the earth moved constantly. I dont think that affects gloabl warming though. It just has to do with pollution in the air and more sun rays reachign the ground. Yea the largest iceberg started to move a while ago so lets see what happens |

Nah i think it will be like 200-300 years before it becomes serious. The major damage being done by green house gases is ozone layer being eaten away. this causes the suns dangourus rays to get through ( did you know in the 1940s you never used to get a sun burn ) this is melting the polar ice caps. IF all the Ice caps melt there is enough water to cover the world completely. So IMO scientists better find out how to make ozone. |
