Here in Canada, first nations people r facing a decline in attendence at skools so the government is putting more and more money 2 bring about awareness and 2 put in place programs so that first nations students go bak. also, the population is on a uge rise. not only that, but if any first nations students decide 2 go 2 college or university or anything post secondary, it's completely paid 4 by the government. on top of that, wen first nations males turn 18, they recieve a cheque of $100,000. and did i mention they don't get taxed?
personally i think the money cud go 2 better places that wud benefit evry1 as a whole and not jus a particular group.

(i also used the term first nations a lot 2 not offend any1)

I find it very controversial. It's unfair for normal canadian citizens like me who isn't aboriginal to be left out of this. The government treats the aboriginals like they're royalty or something by giving them so much benefits.

What makes it worse is that people who want to go into university have to pay. Then you can have an aboriginal who doesn't need to have a good education who get into university for no fee + they get so muhc money when they turn 18.

This is an outrage

I think its about time to end aboriginal rights. There Canadian citizens, so are the rest of us, and as such they should have the excat same benifits/hideranses we all face.
also, did anyone here about how the situation in ontario is turning out where the band took over a housing develoupment claiming its there traditional land? I am outraged that our govenment is even negotiating with them. If ANYONE else did something like that the police would move in and end it in a day, not drag it out for three months to avoid being "politically incorrect". They stole and are trespassing on the develouper's property, he's the one with the deed, its his land now. get over it you pricks.

ya things r messed. yes it's true the canadian government has a dark history with the way they've treated natives, but the apologies and reparations hav been paid, it's time 2 move on.
4 any of u that disagree with mi views, think of it this way, theres a parent with 2 kids. 1 kid is quiet and behaves. the other kid cries and cries til it gets wut it wants. eventually the parent gets so tired it gives the kid wut it wants til it starts crying again.
also, u wanna talk bout more wasted money, all students at mi skool along with their parents, and several other cities across the country had 2 do an aboriginal survey sent out by the governement, processes like those take time, effort and a lot of money. i guess our government(the canadian 1) is tryin 2 be fair, but comin off as 2 nice and a bunch of pushovrs.
