Multi Consoles:

- Square Enix denied the recent rumors that the company is developing a sequel to its PlayOnline MMORPG Final Fantasy XI. Square Enix is currently working on a completely new MMORPG for next generation platforms including game consoles and PCs, as stated in May 2005.

- Moss announced Raiden IV, the latest work of the popular arcade vertical scrolling shooter. Location test of the game will take place in Japan between July 22 - 23, 2006.

- Japanese online shop Tsutaya has conducted a survey on which next generation console customers will likely to buy, 66% of the customers would like to pick up a PlayStation 3, and 34% would like to pick up a Wii.

- Japanese retailers reported that Bandai Namco intends to release Dragon Ball Z: Sparkling NEO for Wii and PS2 in Japan on October 19, 2006. If the date were correct, then Nintendo's Wii console will likely be launched around the same time.

- Level 5 announced an original simulation RPG for PSP named Jeanne d'Arc [Joan of Arc], the game will have well-known characters such as Joan of Arc, Roget and LeAnn. The game is currently 70% completed, and Sony will publish the game in Japan in Winter 2006.

- Enterbrain mentioned that the total shipment of Nintendo DS will surpass 10 million units in Japan by August 2006.

- Square Enix will release the Final Fantasy III Original Sound Track album in Japan on September 20, for 2500 yen, the album includes one CD and one DVD.

- RUMOR: Nintendo is working on a NDS version of Mother / Earthbound, which takes full advantage of the touch panel.

- Nintendo mentioned that they are evaluating ways to use the Wii24Connect feature in Wii to offer downloadable extras for games such as Animal Crossing and Metroid Prime 3.

- Nintendo also plans to offer an assortment of original titles for the Virtual Console, several titles are already in development.

- The Wii Sensor bar will be around 20cm in length, it doesn't matter if your TV screen is a lot wider than the sensor bar because you're interacting with the screen, not the bar.

- Ubisoft mentioned that Red Steel for Wii will support multiple players using split screen, up to 4 players can battle simultaneously.

P L A Y S T A T I O N 3

- Sony has licensed Avistar Communication's video conference technology from the subsidiary company Collaboration Properties. The technology will be used in PlayStation products such as PS3 and PSP.

- UNCONFIRMED: Sony will release the next-gen version of EyeToy at the launch of PS3.

X box 360:
Microsoft announced a playable demo of Dead or Alive 4 will be available in Xbox Live Marketplace in Japan on July 25, 2006, the demo will have 6 playable characters.

- Famitsu reported a rumor that Microsoft will announced an original RPG for Xbox 360 at the Tokyo Game Show in September 2006, the script will be written by a popular fantasy novel author.

- Koei will release the Xbox 360 version of Sengoku Musou 2 [Samurai Warriors 2] in Japan on August 17, 2006. The game will support multiplayers online via Xbox Live.

- Microsoft mentioned they have ceased production of the original Xbox.

- Bandai Namco will release Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood for PS2 in Japan on October 26, 2006.

- Konami will release a new PS2 anime tennis game Prince of Tennis: Doki Doki Sabaibaru in Japan this winter.
