These are just a few general guidlines, before I start. If you have any problems contact me by pming me.
Remember, keep it fun and fair .

-----------------------------------------------------
1. No Godmoding - Godmoding is bad. RolePlaying's no fun if someone's more powerful than all the other characters. The characters in an RP should all have their strengths and weaknesses, and be more-or-so equal. (Overlooking abilities that are important to the storyline, of course. But even those should be used rarely and artfully.)

2. Long posts - Nobody likes one-liners. So I think it'd be good if everyone tried their best to make detailed posts. It helps the story along, makes it more interesting, and avoids pages upon pages of small posts.

3. Listen to the creator - If the creator of an RP doesn't like something someone's done, they have every right to ask them to alter it. Although the RP creator shouldn't completely control the RP, they should have a certain degree of power when it comes to storyline and what's appropriate for the setting.

4. No character killing without the character creator's expressed, written consent, or the authorisation of an Admin (in the case of removing banned or inactive members from a thread.

5. Spelling/Grammar. Rather than concentrating on the length of posts, I propose that quality is more important. Put an effort into your posts, try and post on par with the others in the thread. One, or two paragraphs at the least, and if possible run them through a spell checker to check grammar and spelling before you post. We would rather wait a little longer for something good quality, then have something rushed and shoddy.

6. Spam. You shouldn't spam anyway, and certainly don't spam up someone's rp. Keep OOC (Out of character talking) to a bare minimum.

-----------------------------------------------------

Ok, here is that background to my rp. Create a character and then roleplay.

------------------------------------------------------

Eagosthed kalim atqua uleth,
Arend Ithnin omed poleth,
Estovarim,
Thelinarim,
Stomell niat esta purin
Anen niat esta purin
Esta olet ubthradurin
Eagosthed kalim atque uleth.

So the ancient verse went, in the old tongue. Few could speak the old tongue. It remained forgotten, a translation of the verse remained in the common language, now just used by a few people as a lucky charm. Yet in this day and age, it was still uttered.

There shall be five to save the world,
From all it’s regions, together hurled
Elven,
Dwarven,
Man, from land that stands alone,
Ane, from land that stands alone,
And one from land yet unknown,
There shall be 5 to save the world.

This is not a direct translation, but is accurate and was devised in the year 734, by the great Anen wrighter, Erron.

Here follows a passage from his studies of the poem:

“…It is a well documented fact that this verse has many reputable sources, for which I do not have time to name them all. Gaaset Rock Talker found the verse in the rocks. It is inscribe on all 4 ancient palaces of the land, and many times has the documentation of nature’s revilement of it been seen... …the time of the coming of the Five is unclear, although it is suggested that they shall not come at a time of conscious evil, but rather other peril. However, their appearance is said to spark and evil… other sources than the poem speak of the fates of the individually who shall comprise the 5. These scripts refer to them by their races, and are unclear, but do suggest that danger is about all the paths and success is not definite… …in my readings I have acknowledged indefinite success to indeed be a likely factor, the verse seeming to me to represent the optimum out come… …the exact task of the 5 is not noted anywhere, no hints are given, although an ancient book, rumored to be in existence, may shed light on many matters…”

Right, its time this board had an active role play, I hope this one gets underway well. Post your profiles. I do not mind how many people are in this role play, 5 is not the limit! However in the final line up I will need one of each of the following races:

Elf: Traditional Elven look, although shorter than humans, about ¾ the size also have wings and are capable of flying, although this is a tiring activity. Good at herblore. magic as a weapon, followed by knives, some exceptions are permitable.

Dwarf: Always bald, though many sport beards. Traditional Dwarven dimensions. Good at stone and metal working. Throwing knives, axes, javelins, great upper body strength. No exceptions to the rule allowed.

Men: Normal humans. Weapons: swords, bows, versatile. Women warriors may not carry a bow.

Ane: Sleek tall pale skinned, dark haired. Good at working with wood and carving. Long range weapons are favored, bows, and light throwing implements., although exceptions are permittable.

Nambor: Amphibious humanoids. Use staff based weapons, strains of magic mainly concentrated on healing.

Make a profile stating:

Name
Race
Age (all races have similar life expectancies of about 150 years.)
Appearance (include weapons and armor)
Background (nice long one please)
Profession
Pet (Many people have a pet in this world, the pets are of human intelligence and can telepathically converse with their owner and other pets, only!!! Often pets have special or mystic traits. Do not write about them here, they will be introduced later.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Marneth Orr

Race: Human

Age: 64

Appearance: Marneth wears looks older than he is. His hair is white and long and straight, he also sports a long white beard which blends with his hair. He wears grey robes, and wears no amour. He bears a red staff which seems to be on fire, and indeed to most who touch it, causes burns. The top of the staff is crafted into the shape of a dragon. He is a human wizard, few of which remain, his magic is different to that of Elves. Whereas their magic relies on incantations, his relies on drawing power from his surroundings. It can produce many effects which Elven magic cannot, although is also less versatile than that of the Elves, for instance fire making is not something that he can achieve by magic. He also carries a couple of sharp rounded discs. His grey cloak conceals matching grey robes which fit comfortably. He has very noticeable eyes, both kind and wise.

Background: Born into the heart of the city of Itrasis, Marneth’s magical abilities were quickly noticed by a man named Gorsk, who was himself capable of performing human magic although only to a low standard. Human magicians were at that time, and are still persecuted. His trail was picked up by the authorities. He took head of Gorsk’s advice and fled the city immediately. Marneth was only 10 at the time. The fled from the city and sped on horseback along the main road leading North West, towards the old citadel on the edge of The Crown, a vast range of mountains. As they neared their destination, Marneth’s pet, a young falcon called Eanea was ripped out of the sky by a dragon. She died of her injuries and was laid to rest out in the open, as it was customary for pets, or owners, who had died, leaving behind a pet or an owner. The deceased body would not rot unless the other died.

The Citadel of the Angles, which was its name, was a retreat, and in some cases permanent residence of great intellectuals, warriors and was the largest remaining single dwelling of human wizards, 5 lived there, not counting Marneth and Gorsk. He lived in the citadel peacefully and there fell in love with a young Aren woman named Sheshea, whom he married. Marneth studied for 33 years under the watchful eye of all at the Citadel, his prowess in magic, knowledge and fighting grew. Then, Gorsk died, peacefully in his sleep. Shortly afterwards, Sheshea died of a disease, with her dying words she tried to do something great for Marneth, bring his falcon back to life, but she was unable to achieve this. Marneth was dismayed and his thoughts turned more heavily than ever before to his parents. He journeyed back to Itrasis. The first part of the journey was easy, he knew it well from his many ventures away from the monastery. He didn’t know the way and his guide abandoned him. The spirit of Gorsk appeared to him and lead him.

Once in Itrasis, he discovered that his parents had been killed in connection with his escape. He was angry, he felt he had lost purpose in life. Once again Gorsk’s spirit appeared to him and gave him a new purpose, he was instructed to travel the lands, everywhere he could manage, gain insight into other cultures. And, when the time was right, he would receive a gift, and his true purpose in life.

Some 12 years later he became caught up in the civil war of the northern realm of Headist. He fought along side the rebels and eventually dueled against the ruling dictators personal guard, a dangerous elf. They dueled long and hard, on a high cliff above a beach. He won, although he was thrown down from the cliff and his wooden staff, which had been presented to him at the age of 15 was broken during the duel. He lay on the ground exhausted after the duel. Rebel scout parties couldn’t find him, although they felt that the imperial reign was over. They rejoiced. And he was dismissed as dead, given a hero’s memorial.

Marneth was found 2 days after the duel, still unconscious by a Namboren Princess. She presented him with her staff, his current one. She spoke long on the shore by the tranquil waters about the verse containing the Five. She said that she knew that Mareth would have a role of vital importance in the finding and training of them. With that she hugged him, asked that when she died, her body be dropped in the water. Before Mareth had time to protest, she died and gave her spirit so that Marneth’s old pet falcon may be brought back to life, this, combined with the lingering wish of Sheshea, prevailed. Mareth felt rejuvenated as his pet gained life. He had purpose, just as Gorsk had decreed.

Travelling south he was headed for the coastal town of Tarstits. On his journey he was intercepted by his falcon. He re named her Sheshea in memory of his wife. He traveled in a grey cloak, and a grey sheet of Anen making which could withstand fire draped around his staff which was all to visible, with the flames licking anything it touched.

Upon arriving in Tarstits, he hired gained a voyage on a galley across the sea to the lone island of Greas. There he found the legendary great city of Loarsin and studied the Five in as much detail as he could.

The next 9 years he spent travelling the lands, building on his knowledge and understanding of the Five. He even mad visits to the 4 palaces where the age old poem could be seen inscribed, timelessly remaining on the walls.

In these nine years, he watched the winters get harsher, famine and disease swept the lands during the summer. It brought people together, although it was a natural disaster. He felt that the time of the coming of the 5 was imminent.

Profession: Although most of Marneths life was spent at the citadel where he didn’t have a profession other than learner, during his travels he has lived earnestly, working on occasion as a tutor in the various cities where he has stopped.

Pet: (see above)

Name: Kenshin
Race: Men
Age 27 years old
Appearance: Being at the prime of my age, I have chizzled abs and the most sexiest guy in an armour. I have dark brown hair with blue eyes. I'm about 6'2 feet tall and i'm currently a paladin general for my army. My armour is all shiny silver with a red dragon insignia to depict my strength and loyalty to my army. My helm is silver with red lining which is made from the most rare and strong metals. I ride a white horse named "Echo" who's one of the fastest horses in the entire world. My sword is made of diamond and my skills are unmatched from many. I don't carry a shield at all but that's my downside. People find me arrogant and cocky because of my great skill. I don't find shields necessary since i'm heavy plated in the finest armor.
Background: Kenshin grew up in a family of 12 who was living in poverty and was enduring a long war between 2 of the kingdoms. Kenshin was the youngest of the 10 children who still had a lot of work to do since his parents were often working 15 hours a day with very little income coming in. Kenshin grew up in the Poverty Strucken city of Terrafade. Nothing was going great for the city but it was in between the two major kingdoms so travelling was great. One day one of the major kingdoms invaded Terrafade and took over the city. Helfbound Kingdom took over Terrafade within 1 day to grasp a strongerhold and use the city as a Outlook post for any other invasions. The citizens didn't like the opression of being 2nd rate citizens and they were forced to do more work with the same pay. Increased population led to lack of food and 3 of kenshin's family members died off. the pain was too hard to handle and 2 other of kenshin's family members decided to move to Helfbound's capital city of Darnasia to seek refuge and find carreer job. Only 7 remained in the family but times got worse. Syrifinia the other Kingdom invaded Terrafade and it's citizens. Thousands of Citizens died included many of Kenshin's family. In the end of a 2 month war inside the poverty city, only kenshin, his brother Syke and mother Aerial are still alive. However Syke is MIA and Kenshin has yet to seen him in a long time.

Kenshin and his Mother moved to Helfbound kingdom and he was quickly acknowledged for his sharp good looks and amazing swordsmanship. He was admitted into the knight school at age 18 and graduated at age 20. He served being a knight for 7 years now and he's grown to be one of the best swordsmen in years. He was promoted to be a paladin at age 25 and was later admitted general at age 26. He carries his infamous diamon sword which he calls "Eternal Blade" which has infused magic powers. kenshin has only tapped very little power into the sword but he has yet to unleash it's true might.
Age age 24, each Paladin is allowed a special animal to choose. Kenshin chose Arcane the fire dog who's very big. If Kenshin needed to reach places in short time then he rides arcane. Since Arcane is a fire element dog, the dog can unleash fire tornado's at his victims. Kenshin is an excellent horse rider as well and uses his horse "Echo"for normal battling.
Profession: Paladin of Helfbound Kingdom.
Pet Arcane, beginner fire type dog. Main move: Flame Tornado. More traits to be discovered
