For those of you who don't know what oh OH-SHI is,

is basically an unexpected startling reaction.

My first was:

The floating head from Guardian Legends (NES).

I don't know. I really wasn't really shocked by anything on the SNES. Might have been either on the PS or 64, so let me think about the games on those.

Probably when I was playing Diddy Kong Racing. Those guys you raced against were huge. Or something in Ape Escape. Like just the size of the levels was OH SHI...

the most memorable "Oh-shit" moment would go to......

The Wind Waker scene where you venture into that Hyrule Castle and everything was black and white and all the people were frozen in time. Then once you leave everything turns into color (cel shading was awesome in this game) and you started fighting everything in the room. It was one of the best scenes in gaming history. The color was so unreal. Then after you clear the room you get to see the hyrule fields and goron mountain from the distance and you just wished you were running around on there :) instead you were closed off from that area and had to go back onto the sea and explore.

My other "Oh-shi" moment is on Super Mario 64. I was inside the haunted house and in the room where the piano was. I walked to the piano and it friken jumped at me. Hecka scared me.

Hmm, probably when that crazy death machine thing jumps out of the barred door in FFIX and starts chasing you. ^^;;

I am the Bone of my Sword.
Steel is my body and Fire is my Blood.
I have created over a thousand Blades.
Unknown to Death... Nor know to life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons,
Yet these hands will never hold anything,
So As I pray... Unlimited Blade Works..

Haha, I forgot all about that! That scared the crap out of me too. I was like, "Oh, hey a pia...AH!" Man, I always wanted to beat up that piano after that. It pissed me off.

Doom 3 - Towards the beginning after you've faced a couple monsters. You see a set of stairs. No biggie. I headed toward the stairs. All of a sudden, a monster blasts its way out of the second and third steps right in my face. Kinda cool but spooked me a little.

Half-Life - Headcrabs in the huge pipes you navigate in (with flashlight enabled of course). They usually pop up when there's a drop or something, but they usually got me....the icthyosaur parts were terrible, hated those.

System Shock 2 - the first time an enemy comes rushing at you. Suffice to say, I didn't get much further after that since I was "shocked" so badly :P.

Alone in the Dark - Kinda primeval by today's standards, but in the beginning room I was going "la la la" figuring things out. BOOOM!!!!! Sudden music change..."WTF!" I go....nothing different other than the music.....OH DEAR something is dancing outside the window.....Oh damnit all it's----*Window breaks* AAHHHH!!! it's the polygon-monsterdog plushy triangle teeth thing from Hell!!!

Flashback - The whole thing was spooky IMO...I think it had to do with the animations.

Turok 2 - There was some VERY freaky boss....I'm not sure on the specifics but I think it had one eye, was flesh colored, and might've had lower canines....it was a screen filler that's all I know :P. Oh, and the Akklaim iguana in that game looked freaky when it went postal(this is when you booted the cartridge up)

and pretty much any Indiana Jones-esque boulder sequences in games (damn the perspective!)

o man in doom 3 when u walk through the dark hallway with spots of light along it

and everytime u approached a spot of light an image of a bloody dude wearing a mask with a chainsaw appears for a second and dissapears

when u reach the end of the hallway the lgihts all go red and the wall comes down and the guy with the chainsaw comes at u

aalso when u first encounter the demon babies...theres so many of them

and when u hear the girl crying...and u find her and her head explodes and a flying skull comes out and then u get bombarded by flying skulls

and when u go into themedical ward and u pick up a pda and listen to a voice recording about a guy who went insane and started eating ppl and used a knife to cut his tongue in half...and you walk through a door and that same guy jumps at u with his knife....

or when the seargent informs you about an unidentified "growth" taking place in this one room and u go in and theres wierd stuff growing all over the place...u look up and see a guy with his chest cut open and the growth is actually his guts and stuff coming out of him and growing all over the place...not only that but hes still alive and sccreaming...l;ike a girl...and he has no eyes

or in general any "oh shit" moment in that game was when the mutated soldiers with the chainguns and tentacle arms came at you cuz they just run right at you and tey take so longto die and they dish out crazy pain
