Sort of agree. But I'm really wondering what it will be like when we eventually get to virtual reality. Imagine a virtual reality war game, or GTA, or anything of the like: how would it make you feel to actually kill someone in the game? It would be with your own hands, you'd be able to hear them scream, watch them die firsthand. I think something like that would cause some serious psychological problems.

itll never reach that level of realness

i mean it can be like that...but even if it wasnt real life...keep it 3D rendered with like 360/ps3 graphics...and right there it couldnt do that much damage

Not sure to agree and disagree. But violence in video games depends on how violence is made and how the violence looks and feels. What it will do to us at any age is that they will give us a view about how violence is shown to different audiences.

At the same time, it can be very disturbing and traumatizing for those not ready, or even desensitize us to these events so that it happens in real life, we're out of touch with how we "should" feel.

*cough*Gears of War (in gore)*/cough*

Graphic gory details ahead:

I once seen this disturbing video clip of a criminal who committed suicide by shotgun pointing under his chin. The situation was he was standing in the middle of the freeway, trapped and surrounded by different forces of justice purpose. When he shot himself, blood sprayed out of the top of his head, agonizingly reacting quickly by rushing his head to the ground and crawled up into a ball. He died shortly after his reaction as he released his fetal position and lies on the ground. A long flow of blood pours out of his head reaches out through lengths of a few yards.

End of Gory Details

When I saw the violence that happened in that video. I didn't know what to react. Maybe I'm 17 and I and desensitized to this kind of violence. Maybe the violence seen here was fictionally seen somewhere else in the media. But what I know is, video games aren't as real as that. I see kids playing video games with violence seen. But are they disturbed by the violence? It depends on the environment the child lives in.

But I guarantee you, if you have played all of the violent rated-M games that are nasty, I bet you would still be disturbed watching Faces of Death because that's the real thing.

This topic's about to become a debate/discussion.

as long as the people know they are just playing a game then there is no problem imo
as far as i know there was only one time i rly tought: "what would be the best way to kill that dude?"
i was immedialitly like: ok shouldnt think that way :s
and i never did it again :)

but what they say about videogames making children aggresive and such is total bullshit imo
they will allways need something to blame

for example: the collumbine shooting accident
the shooters were doom fans and one of them made a map wich resembled the school (wich it didnt, i played it) so they were totaly like: omg, its societys fault...IT WAS ALL DOOMS FAULT!!
that just pisses me off
if they are the blame, they should take it on themself and not shuve it one someone/something else
