Just thought I'd start this cause I couldn't find a thread for all FFs. If I missed something just delete this, it doesn't matter to me either way, as long as there is a topic, lol. I think that FF7 is by far the best FF, but I don't think they had to go mad with the Compelation... I think Advent Children would have been sufficient. I think Dirge of Cerberus was alright, but it lacked any good storyline, and reminded me too much of Devil May Cry. I think after 7 I'm stuck between 12 and 10... although x-2 was SH**. Anyone agree that 9 was sone of the worst games ever??? Not even worst FF, but just a really, really bad game???? |

I liked 9. It returned to the series' roots in a cool way. |

I thought it was waaayyy to easy, I mean, you get an airship almost straight away, whereas you have to work for one in the others. |

Dirge of Cerebrus sucked a lot. Square Enix can't do FPS + RPG elements in a game. I;ve played a bit of FFVII but I still prefer VI and IV over all of the rest |

I hated games like Final Fantasy. They ruin the market cuz they all are the same kind of games. I can't stand them role playin games with the robots and cartoon characters with so much yappin and not enough shooting. |

I like the yappin. It gives for a good storyline. |

Agreed without the story it just gets repetive and you can't feel for any of the characters, heck without the yappin and the story eeryone would look the same, most of their coustumes are done to accent their story or relationships with each character |

I always find the games hard and scary. The monsters make me pee or slightly pee my pants. |

I don't mean to be rude, but why Final Fantasy VII for you? Was it the characters, storyline, what? I loved Final Fantasy IV for some reason. It threw quite a few surprises with it's character developments. I won't spoil them for anyone else though so don't worry. I really loved how Tella was the comic relief throughout the game and Cecil went from being so evil to the savior of the land. And who doesn't think Edge was a complete badass? The music was very grand at the time and, for Playstation owners, they got Chrono Trigger with it. Not a bad deal at all. |

FFIV was great but it really prolonged for ever. The only thing great about the game was Cecil and Cain and their development. The game needs a remake badly and thankfully we're getting it. The crystals storyline had been done and the boss (Baron whatever?) was just plain awful. I never finished the game though; managed to get around 50% done or so before I gave up. the music was memorable though, the fight scene to the epic boss battle music. FFX was the last true Final Fantasy game and arguably the best of the series. I did like FFX12 though, aside from Vaan. |

Final Fantasy X had too much I liked and disliked going on at the same time. So after I was done, I had a mixed feeling overall. The Aeons were really sweet, had tons of side quests you go do, I did like the ability learning system, and the Overdrives (though long with cut-scenes on) were memorable. But I really didn't like how Yuna was so reserved and the characters of Wakka and Kimari were eh. I never felt any reason to use anyone but Tidus, Yuna, and Auron in my party (this increased greatly once I got each of their final weapons), simply because they seemed most balanced. Lulu's health was always pretty low, Rikku didn't do much base damage, Wakka used a ball, Kimari didn't do much damage either and his Overdrive was weak unless you really took the time to make it awesome. Whatever though. It's a purely subjective topic. |

I've never played FFX and i've been searching for the game for quite some time. It will seem like that I will end up borrowing the game from Guylebrown (who praises the game a lot; so prying it from him will be quite the problem.) My favorite Final Fantasy will always be VI. I've played VII and I did like the storyline, the characters, and the great music but Final Fantasy VI has some of the most intriguing and deep characters with a grasping storyling. An excellent RPG really needs a sadistic antagonist that is hell-bent on what he does and that is what Kefka is. He strikes me as a normal human being who's bred with evil intentions and pure malice, just to move up the ranks. Unlike other RPG antagonists who possess magical powers and in-human strength, Kefka has no special abilities but the mind of a clever mad man. I admire how the story unfolded with each different character (IV did this as well) and it came together at the dramatic final battle. The music is praised to being one of the best on the SNES and I believe this is one of the first games that had cut scenes (Celes and her play.) |

Let me come out clean and saying that I hate the Final Fantasy series. I'm not a fan of the RPG genre and most likely never will. I just can't stand games where people are thrown into some magical fantasy and they have to fight demons and the only way they can succeed is by grinding for hours on certain mobs. |
