Its Axem Time!!!

What's your take in third party exclusives no longer being exclusive to a certain console? How drastically has this affected the console wars of this gen? Is any console benefitting and/or suffering?

Well, I think it boils down to how much people are willing to accept that one version will have slightly better graphics than the other, or exclusive content within the game, much like Soul Calibur4 and the Xbox360/PlayStation 3 exclusives.

Also it depends on how well the console will do with handing the game. With the Nintendo Wii's unique controls, some games may favor the Wii, or not favor the Wii.

All in all, I really don't care because I don't play very many videogames, and also I have both a Wii and a PS3 so I really don't need a 360...

Imo, the PS3 is suffering when you think about it. A lot of the PS2 exclusive titles such as Devil May Cry, Star Ocean, Monster Hunter, and now and most importantly Final Fantasy have found a new home on other platforming consoles. The debate to see which console has the better exclusives is almost impossible to compare since the differences are really miniscule.

Should gamers be satisfied that third party companies are moving to multi console this gen? Well, it's kinda bittersweet. On one hand, it's great for new gamers since they don't have to shell out money for a new console. On the other hand, core gamers who favor a console will now have to relish the fact that other console gamers are enjoying the same game that they are.

In a marketing standpoint, companies are thriving from multi console sales. After all, development costs for the PS3/360 are significatly higher then the PS2/XBOX that developers are left with no choice but to distribute their games on all platforms to prevent a risk of losing profit.

Being a 360 owner, i'm quite happy that a lot of console exclusive games are going on different platform. It's more money in the wallet so I don't have to go out and buy a PS3 and that money can be used to buy more video games.
