Hockey: Alexander Ovechkin: I would have picked Crosby but Alex Ovechkin is really make huge strides in the NHL. Every other game has has a highlight reel goal, and he has a goofy and funny personality so everyone really likes him. When he has to be intense he shows it on the ice and the media is really picking up on him.
Soccer: Cristiano Ronaldo: It's hard to choose between Messi, Ronaldo, and Beckham. Messi is considered the best footballer in the world, while Beckham is the most recognized name is soccer, and Ronaldo......well he's literally talked about all the time. The guy is basically on all the soccer posters out there, he's the biggest star on the most recognized club in the world, and he's one of the best forwards in this generation. The guy has it all. Beckham is certainly big for the North American fan base, but Ronaldo is the man when regarded aroudn the world.
Basketball: Kobe Bryant. He's like Ovechkin, while Lebron is like Crosby. They're both damn good and it's so hard to choose between them. Dwight Howard is now coming up the ranks as well.
Baseball: A-Rod: He's always on the media reports, whether it be his accolades or that steroid scandal. For years there hasn't been a face in baseball, but Alex Rodriguez is really taking baseball by storm.
Golf: Tiger Woods: That wasn't hard to choose
Tennis: Roger Federer: Doesn't matter if Nadal is #1, Federer is still the most recognized Tennis star playing currently. I guess Agassi could be up there, but he's retired and Federer continues to make new achievements in the sport.
Boxing: Lol, so hard to choose. Probably Oscar De La Hoya, because he at one point was the fans favorite for quite some time. In fact, he still is and people are still sour about his announcement to retire. Pacquiao comes close, and same with Klitchko but De La Hoya had the huge fans contingent. Of course, Mohammad Ali was the face of boxing but this is only looking at current stars.
UFC : George St. Pierre: I thought including UFC would be pretty cool, but GSP is the face of the sport. He's the most dominant athlete by far in the Octagon. But look for Brock Lesnar to make his impact soon. forgot about UFC.. ya i'd go with GSP
