His Totally Awesomeness

Greetings, Esteemed Minister: I am Imperator, Founder of the Continental Union and acting Foreign Minister for the same. We had requested an embassy exchange with your region but were rejected. I had TG'd Sedge requesting some information about this. I can certainly understand the reasons behind the rejection since we are not familiar with each other. Our region no longer blindly accepts request because two other regions were using the embassy and extention of diplomatic relations as a covert means of illegal recruiting. Sedge suggested that I contact you concerning this request. When I noticed your region, I thought that a connection between you and us would be a good gesture. About half of our members reside in Sacramento, the North Valley, and Reno. In RL these areas have always had a close connection to the City. I also have a common link with your founder a while back when we were in the GRA together briefly. Please let me know about process of establishing diplomatic relations with your region. Do you also require (or prefer) a mutual exchange of puppet nations and/or users on our mutual Regional Forums? We are set up to do any of those things if required. I thank you in advance for your time and consideration and hope to receive a response as soon as you are able. ----- I received this TG and wanted a little background on it because, quite honestly, I'm not certain why they were refused in the first place. If you could give me some insight into this, I will be able to be more effective at a reply. |

We get a few embassy request per week, and I generally reject them unless I know the important members of the region, or we have a historic link with them, or you've posted here about them. I don't think geographical proximity is enough of a reason to accept a request - there's got to be something more - are we going to provide updates to each other? Also, I don't remember that guy from the GRA - he must've used another name there. |

Well, I don't particularly see a reason to accept this request either. Okay, then, he get's a denial again. |

Ensure you tell anyone we're rejecting that we want to keep our embassies to a low number so we can personally be involved with each. Unless of course we're rejecting them on other grounds. |

Before we reject him, lets us our intelligence network and feel him out. Repsond by telling him we are reconsidering and will let him know. Also that we do keep our embassies low as President Fury has stated. I will give you a report in two or three days. |

And gentlemen in England now abed shall think themselves accursed they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks that fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.” William Shakespeare | |

Continental Ambassador

It is good to see that those in my region are not the only ones performing due dilligence when it comes to establsihing diplomatic relations. When the NS embassy option because available, we had a couple of unsavory experiences with regions establishing "relations" only to have their puppet post recruiting messages in our RMB. So, we too have stepped up the background checks and run approval through our Founder's Council first. You can never be too careful! |
