You guys do know these swinging arms in ruck contests happen 10 times a game right? Just most the time they hit the chest and not the jaw, what cost Vickery is he was watching the ball and not where he was swinging his arm and he paid a price for not protecting Cox. It wasn't malicious, he didn't intend to knock Cox out and it is not in the same sphere as Barry Hall who intentionally lined up Staker's jaw |

He was trying to get him in the chest? Cmon TB....I know Vickery is a dumb shit with very little hand eye coordination, but do you really think he thought Cox was 260cms tall? To hit Cox inthe head, he has to swing very high... not to mention the public apology which he's said he meant to do it...and not even arguing the fact it was rated as intentional by the MRP when at the tribunal... |

Well Lake got 4 weeks for choking Petrie when he never had contact with his throat so I'm not too fussed with what the MRP/Tribunal come to in terms of a conclusion. Much like Lake this was a suspension pre-determined by the media and public reaction and they found a way to make the suspension "fit" the public expectation. Vickery got what he deserved for being careless. He swung vertically from his shoulder (not up) and hit a Cox who was leaning down. He didn't follow through with anything or even look at Cox afterwards, he just went on with the play. The apology was scripted, if you believe after the event apologies for anything more than trying to lessen the sentence then well.... I don't really have an end to this thought soz |

2 weeks for Conca which is about right and what I said on Saturday. Stevie J gets a week for something, I missed most of that game so not sure what it was for. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-08-04/mrp-full-statement-round-19 Just on the Conca one it was graded medium contact, the same as Viney vs Lynch and higher than Glass vs Wingard... I thought the MRP was going alright early in the year but since that Viney one they seem to be coming up with a penalty then working backwards to get the reasoning. I don't even mind them just assigning a penalty (as Conca's is about right) but just don't pretend there is a system behind that |
