From an e-mail I received. Last week, the Philippines were hit by one of the strongest typhoons in recorded history. Haiyan was one of the most violent storms ever to make landfall. This storm devastated a large portion of the Philippines. Most homes and buildings were completely obliterated by this storm. In addition to the physical damage there was also massive loss of life. MANNA is connected to the Philippines through twelve individual projects and we are responding. Every MANNA project and the families we serve were affected to some degree. And as of today, we have yet to establish communication with our projects located in the hardest hit areas. The situation is dire. For the families we serve, as well as all Filipino people, there is a desperate need for shelter, clean water, food, blankets, medical supplies, and the list goes on. We are currently seeking monitary donations to provide for these basic needs. We were advised it is too early in this disaster to put a team on the ground. Therefore we will wait until mid January to send a response team. If you are interested in participating on this trip please contact us for more details. As we continue to pray for the Philippines, would you consider a donation to help ease the physical suffering the Filipino people will have to endure in the aftermath of this storm. All donations MANNA receives will be disbursed directly through our local missionaries in the Philippines. All donations will be tax deductable Edited by S.T.Ranger, Nov 23 2013, 07:29 AM.
