I've got a bunch of game ideas, but I don't wanna spam this subforum every single time I get a game idea, so I'll just make one thread for it and add setups whenever I get the ideas for them.
Panty and Stocking Mafia
Village
Panty: While you may be an angel, you certainly don't act like one, being addicted to sex and all. You start the game off with a gun that can be fired once per game to instantly kill anyone. However, shooting the gun has a 50% chance of revealing you as the shooter. After firing the gun, you can visit a player to steal their underwear and take their pair. You can't steal from the same person twice in a game. You start the game knowing who Stocking is. Stocking: You act more like an angel than your sister, but not by much. Every night, you can choose a player at night, and slice them up with your swords, killing them. You start the game knowing who Panty is.
Garterbelt: You have been sent by god to do his will, which happens to be making sure Panty and Stocking become angels again. You can choose to use your heavenly powers to do one of two things. You can either look into someone, and see if they were sent by god or the devil himself, or you can use the will of god to protect someone from dying that night.
Brief: What a geekboy. You're pretty vocal about your love for Panty, so if anyone visits you during the night, you'll announce it to the whole game. You don't think you're important, so you see yourself as a normal villager.
Chuck: You're a dog, I think. You can take quite the beating, so you can survive any one attempt on your life, including gunshots.
Mafia
Scanty: You're a demon whose sole goal is to destroy Panty and Stocking, so that they stop ruining your plans. You start the game off with a gun, that can be fired to kill anyone instantly. Shooting this gun will not reveal you as the shooter. After firing this gun, you can visit a player to steal their underwear and turn it into a gun. The gun you steal from them will have a 25% chance of revealing you as the shooter. The only mafia member you can steal underwear from is Kneesocks, as the rest don't even wear underwear. If Panty has already stolen underwear from someone, you can't steal theirs, as it's gone. Kneesocks: The other demon sister, you have a different plan of dealing with Panty and Stocking, and that's with the power of disguise. If investigated by Garterbelt, you will show up as village sided. At any point in the game, you can PM me the name of a role, and if you die, you will show up as that role upon death. Fastener: You're an evil dog. If you are lynched, you can choose another player to die along with you.
Ghosts: You're basically a standard goon
Inferno Cop Mafia
Village
Inferno Cop - The greatest cop of all time. Any normal cop bows down before your awesome skill. You can do anything a cop can, so as such, you can look into someone each night to see if they're a member of southern cross or not. You also have a gun that has infinite bullets and can instantly kill someone. However, firing the gun will reveal you in the thread.
Mr. Judge - You believe yourself to be the true hero of this fine city. Every night, you can choose to protect a player from death, however, if you protect Inferno Cop, you'll show him real justice, and prevent him from doing any actions that night.
Hellfire Boy - Inferno Cop has given you a real reason to live. If you die from the mafia night kill, the next night, Inferno Cop turns into Inferno Detective, allowing him to learn roles that night instead of alignment, and also, his gun will not reveal him the next day when he fires it.
Mecha Cop - You are like Inferno Cop, only mechanized! You are immune to bullets of any kind, and every night, you can choose a player to kill at night.
Inferno Cop's Aunt - Such a nice old lady, you're proud of what your nephew has become. If anyone kills you, they shall die as well.
Mafia
High Priest - The leader of Southern Cross, Inferno Cop's arch rivals. If you are looked into, you will show up as a normal citizen.
FBI - You are part of the FBI. Every night, you can choose a player and a word. If that player says that word, they'll die. The word has to be at least 4 letters long and can't be a part of someone's username.
Southern Baby - You are immune to Inferno Cop's bullets! Once per game, you can choose another player, and kill them on top of the mafia kill.
Southern Cross - You're a normal southern cross goon with no powers.
Third Party
God - You are assigned a player at the start of the game. That player needs to make it to the end of the game alive, or else Jesus will have died for nothing. You can choose to use your heavenly powers once per game to make them immune to all bullets, lynches, and kills for one day and night phase. If that player makes it to the end of the game alive, you win along with them.
Alright, so I'm working on a game setup. Basically, the gimmick of the game is that nobody knows what role they are, and it's no reveal. I want to run something pretty basic to test out this setup, but it might be a little hard to decide a balance, so I was wondering if this would work out.
Every role in the game is named the same, and everyone is told that they're that role. When someone dies, they'll be revealed as the name of that role, and since every role is named the same, it's basically no reveal. Since nobody is sure they're a power role or not, they'll have to message me with "Action: Player" to attempt to do an action at night. To explain this simpler, let's say Zaazaa, Aviana, and Brodioh are in the game. Brodioh is the cop, Aviana is the doc, and Zaazaa is just a villager. Brodioh says "Action: Aviana", and he'll use his action on Aviana. Zaazaa says "Action: Aviana", but nothing happens, as he has no action. If you need me to explain this any more, I'll be happy to do so.
There would be wills.
Mafia will know who the other mafia are, but they won't know who does which action.
Village: Caroler/Doc/Vigilante/Town Crier/Drunk Mafia: Hooker/Yakuza/Forger/Goons Third Party: Survivor that can survive an extra kill
I was thinking about making it so the Survivor can survive two kills, but I'm not too sure.
Would something like this work? I'm referring to the set-up, my next game is gonna use that gimmick no matter what.
Roles that gain information won't work too well. A Cop would immediately know who they are, as would Forger. I'd suggest Caroler if you want an investigative role. Or maybe the Journalist from Item Shenanigans.
The issue with items is that whoever gets the item is instantly cleared of being the role that gives them out, so I'm gonna go with caroler.
Except Caroler does that as well. If you want to have an investigative role, you have either let the Cop know they're a Cop instantly or let the Carol receiver know they aren't the Caroler.
Unless you have one or two Oracles. Except that kind of defeats the purpose of the game.
Oracle could work, but it'd be an Oracle that reveals Alignment rather than role. The issue then becomes the fact that it'd be one time only, when I feel like a consistant form of investigation is needed to make this balanced.
Except the purpose of the game is that people are choosing their targets and not knowing their role, whereas a random Caroler has nothing to do with choice. I was just pointing out the fact that Journalist and Caroler both suffer the same problem. I think it's fine the way it is.
I'll try to avoid spoilers in the roles, but this game is pretty much two years old already, and it's worth playing at least Season 1, so you should probably just go play it already.
Village
Lee- You killed a state senator, and were on your way to jail when the whole Zombie Apocalypse started. Ever since then, you've been trying to survive, while helping as many people as possible. You're a natural survivor, and have killed before, so every night, if you wish, you can choose a player to kill. However, you've still got a little girl to protect. If any action is directed toward Clementine that would lead to her death or conversion, the action will be redirected towards you instead. (Vigilante + Shield for Clementine)
Clementine- You're a little girl who was simply waiting for your parents to come home from vacation before all this happened. You were waiting with your babysitter, but she didn't make it, so you hid in your treehouse until Lee found you. As a little girl, you've got a very general sense of morality, and as such, you can tell when someone is a good guy or a bad guy. If you look into someone the same night they're bitten by a walker, you'll be told they're bitten along with your report. The night after Lee dies, you will be too overcome with grief to perform any actions. (Cop + Hooked Night after Lee dies)
Kenny- You're a very goal oriented person, once you get your mind set on something, you're gonna see it through to the end, no matter what. Right now, your goal is protecting your family. To accomplish this, you need to be tough as nails, so you can survive two kills, and the first attempt at a conversion won't work on you, however the second one will. (Bulletproof for kills and conversions)
Katjaa- You're Kenny's wife, and you're also a veterinarian. Since you have some medical knowledge, you ended up becoming the groups doctor. However, this medical knowledge isn't the best, since you work on animals mostly. Therefore, every night, you can choose to protect someone from dying, however, since you take longer than normal, you'll cancel their actions as well. This has a plus side, however, as the person you're protecting can't be converted while you're with them at night. (Nurse + Shrink)
Lilly- You're the leader of the group, and as such, you need to make the hardest decisions, even if that means others don't agree with you. During the day, you can send anonymous messages to the town and lead them in the right direction. (Town Crier)
Ben- You're a teenager who was in school when all of this started. You tried to survive in your school, but that didn't work out too well. You're often seen as the weakest or worst character due to how many mistakes you make throughout the series, and as such, your death will cause one last major fuck up. If you die, you'll end up breaking everyone's flashlights and lock them in a dark room somehow, so nobody will know who is talking. You see yourself as a normal survivor though. (Lightkeeper + Thinks they're normal survivor)
Other Survivors- You're just other survivors trying to survive in this shit world. You can vote on who to kill during the day, but that's about it.
Mafia
Andrew St. John- You and your brother were both part of a dairy before this went down. Saying why you're part of the mafia would spoil stuff, so I'll leave it be. You're crafty, and know how to get people caught in your traps. Every night, you can visit a person, and if that person is visited by someone else who isn't part of the mafia, they will die. (Witch)
Danny St. John- You and your brother were both part of a dairy before this went down. Saying why you're part of the mafia would spoil stuff, so I'll leave it be. You're the most skilled with weapons out of the two of you, so anytime during the day, you can fire a sniper and kill someone. You have two bullets to kill people with, but it takes you a day to reload the bullet, so you can't fire back to back. (Two Time Sniper, One shot per day)
[No picture due to major spoilers] Stranger- Not many people know who you are. You're simply a stranger to them. You know how to manipulate people into doing what you want though, especially Clementine. If Clementine were to look into you, she would think that you're a good person who's simply trying to help. (Godfather)
Bandits- You're simply bandits who will do whatever it takes to survive, even if that means killing others. (Goons)
Third Party
Walkers- Walkers. Nobody knows where they came from, but everyone knows the basic facts about them. They only come from dead people without a destroyed brain. The only way to kill them is with a shot to the brain. And if you get bitten... you'll die and become a walker. Humans may be smarter, but walkers have the advantage in numbers. As a walker, every night, you can visit a player and bite them. At the end of the next day phase, they'll become a walker too. You win the game when a majority of the players in the game are walkers. If you bite the same person Clementine looks into at night, she'll be told that they're bitten along with her report. (Zombie)
TL;DR (Super Spoiler Free Version)
Village: Lee- Vigilante + Clem shield Clem- Cop + Hooked the night after Lee dies Kenny- Bulletproof for kill attempts and conversion attempts Katjaa- Nurse + Shrink Lilly- Town Crier Ben: Lightkeeper + Thinks they're a villager
Mafia: Andrew St. John- Witch Danny St. John- Two time sniper, one shot per day Stranger- Godfather Bandits- Goons
Every player starts out with a gun during Night 1, and keeps their gun until they die. These are the only guns in the game, make them count. Every player has a 100% reveal rate when they shoot their gun, except for select PR's There is an ability to swap guns with another player, if both parties wish to do so. Both players simply need to PM me with a message along the lines of "I wish to swap guns with Player X", and the gun swap will happen. The swap has the highest priority, and happens even before the kills, or gun stealing PR's. This should make for some interesting mind games.
Village
Panty- While Panty may be an angel, she certainly doesn't act like one, being addicted to sex and all. Panty doesn't start off with a gun, however she has the power to use any gun. Every night, she can visit a player, and steal their underwear. This takes away that player's gun, and gives it to Panty to use during the next day phase. Panty is not told what gun she has gotten. If she doesn't use the gun by the end of the phase, it returns back to the original owner, but Panty can't visit that person again for two phases. Panty will never be revealed from firing a gun. She starts the game off knowing who Stocking is.
Stocking- Stocking acts more like an angel than her sister, but not by much. Rather than loving sex, she loves all things sweet. Every night, she can choose a player, and jam their gun, making it so they can't fire it during the day. It wears off at the end of the day, letting them fire it again the next day. She starts off knowing who Panty is. Unique Gun: Akimbo Guns- Stocking uses dual Katanas, but it can still be turned into a pair of guns. Whoever steals this gun can fire it twice during the day. If only one shot is fired, Stocking will get her gun back with only one shot, allowing it to be taken again for one more shot.
Garterbelt- Garterbelt has been sent down from the lord above to do his will, whether he wants to or not. This will happens to be getting Panty and Stocking to become angels again. Because of his heavenly powers, he can choose to do one of two things. He can either use the Lord's wisdom to figure out the role of whoever he investigates, or use the Lord's power to protect someone from death that night. Unique Gun: Holy Gun- Garterbelt can use an extension of his powers during the day, and shoot someone with a gun... that heals them. Whoever is shot with this gun will be immune from all gun shots or lynch attempts during that day. It will wear off as soon as the night starts.
Brief- What a geekboy. Brief feels that he is unimportant, but he really loves Panty will all of his heart. He views himself as a normal villager, but if he is visited during the night, the player who visited him will be revealed to the thread. Unique Gun: Loud Gun- Geekboy over here has a very special type of underwear, one that reveals the role of whoever shoot it. The gun still kills whoever it is aimed at, but the role of the shooter will always be revealed.
Chuck- He's a dog, maybe. He's pretty sturdy, so he can survive any kill attempts, be it from gunshots, lynches, or night kills. Unique Gun: Lover's Gun- Whoever fires this gun will have their life linked to the target of the gun until the beginning of the next day phase. If one of them dies, the other will die as well.
Villagers- They can vote, and they all have a normal gun.
Mafia
Scanty- Scanty is one of two demon sisters, whose sole job is to destroy Panty and Stocking. Scanty doesn't start with a gun, but like Panty, she can visit a player every night, and steal their gun to use for herself. She doesn't know which gun she has, but unlike Panty, she can choose to keep her gun as long as she wants, and to discard it if she wishes to. She can only hold one gun at a time, so if she chooses to steal a gun while she already has one, the one she is holding will be discarded in favor of the new one. Scanty will never be revealed when she shoots her gun.
Kneesocks- Kneesocks is the other demon sister. Her method of ridding the world of the Ex-Angels is quite different than Scanty's. Every night, she can choose a player, and visit them at night, making them unable to do their actions. Unique Gun: Explosive Gun- Kneesock's gun is quite unique, in that it is an anti-angel gun. If a mafia member fires this gun, then it will act like a normal gun. However, if a village member fires the gun, then it will explode, and kill them instantly.
Fastener- Fastener is a dog as well, maybe. He looks like Chuck a little, so Garterbelt would get a bit confused if he looked into him, and see him as a normal villager. Unique Gun: Demonic Gun- The wielder of this gun is consumed by a demonic influence. As soon as this gun is fired, the shooter will die instantly, however, the target that was shot will become a mafia goon.
Goons- They're goons, they start off with normal guns.
LETTER HAS TRIED TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BECOME A MODERATOR ON THE NUZLOCKE FORUMS
HE HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL MANY TIMES, NO MATTER HOW MUCH HE ASKS
HE IS FINALLY FED UP WITH THIS
HE BEGINS PLANNING A TAKEOVER
THE FIRST STEP IS TO REACH THE TOP 10 POSTERS ON NUZLOCKE, SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHO HE IS
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
THE SECOND STEP IS TO HAVE A RUN SO POPULAR THAT LITERALLY EVERYONE WILL REMEMBER IT AND WON'T SHUT UP ABOUT IT
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED IT'S BEEN A FUCKING YEAR SHUT UP ABOUT SNAKEWOOD ALREADY
THE FINAL STEP WAS TO ASSEMBLE AN ARMY OF THE STRONGEST PEOPLE POSSIBLE TO TAKE OVER THE ENTIRE NUZLOCKE FORUMS, AND PUT LETTER IN CHARGE OF EVERYTHING
SADLY THIS WAS NOT POSSIBLE SO I HAD TO DEAL WITH THESE GUYS
CAN THEY WIN AGAINST THE NUZLOCKE MODS
PROBABLY NOT BUT THIS IS A MAFIA GAME SO ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
The Takeover Army (Scumhunters)
Letter- The leader of the takeover. He intends to lead fairly and peacefully, but will crush all those before him with an iron fist. He's also funny, sexy, likes long walks on the beach, and is single, ladies. During the day phase, he can PM the host, the REAL Letter who is even funnier, sexier, likes even longer walks on even longer beaches, and is also single, ladies. He can send the host a message, and the message will be posted anonymously in the thread. He can send as many messages as he wants to the host, they'll all be posted in the thread. (Town Crier)
Dayafter- The brute force of the takeover. I mean, just look at him. He's a big guy, for you. Every night, he can choose a player at night, and kill a player who visits the person he chose. If a village sided player, and a mafia sided player both visit the target, the mafia player will die. However, his large size makes it hard for him to fit into places, so he can't visit the same player two nights in a row. (Trapper)
Tkallab- The wimp of the takeover. He listens to music genres that I'm not even sure exist, and watches a bunch of anime and manga. He's also single, ladies. He's not very strong because of this. If he is visited at all by anyone, he will collapse and die right away. However, all the anime he sees has allowed him to choose someone at night and see their true form, and if he dies, their role will be revealed in the thread. Letter has taught him to not fall for Princess Furfrou's tricks, so his reveals will always be true. (Glass Man)
PSN Stryker- The cutest of the takeover, no homo. Due to his small size and charismatic nature, he can share lots of info with people. He can choose a player at night, and will give them a report. There are 4 possible reports, and the one given will be randomly chosen. He can either tell someone who visited a random player, who a random player visited, what items a player is holding, or the role of a player. (Penguin)
Ilvocare- The most technologically advanced of the takeover. He knows how to use computers. This makes him the most technologically advanced. Each night, he can use HACKING to look at a player's role PM and learn their role. That's totally what happens. (Detective)
Aviana- The moderation support of the takeover. The best way to defeat mods, is to have an admin on your side. She can use her admin like powers to prevent players from dying at night. However, she is a girl, and since you're all mad thirsty, you're gonna flirt with her and shit, so if she protects you, you won't be able to use your powers at night. (Nurse)
Bullet- The traitor of the takeover. He says he has our best interests at heart, but we all know he's lying. If the mafia try to kill him at night, he will turn into a third party moderator with no powers. He will no longer be village sided, and will win if the mafia wins. (Turncoat)
Scumhunters- Honorary members of the takeover. They're not cool enough to have powers, but they're still there to vote during the day for who to lynch.
The Fuccboi Resistance (Nuzlocke Mods/Admins)
Princess Furfrou- The leader of the Fuccboi resistance, he's the main guy who says he won't make me a mod. He's also the only person I asked. He's clearly up to something. He's tricky, so he can give out a piece of clothing to someone at night. The clothing will make the player show up as a different role to everyone. Furfrou can choose what role the clothing will show up as. The clothing counts as an item, and will show up in PSN's reports. When Furfrou dies, all the clothes he has given out will be removed from the game. (Tailor)
Nuzlocke- He made the damn site. He is illuminati. He can remove conspiracies from the site. Once per game, he can choose a player and delete their account if they die at night. Their role will not show up upon death. (Janitor)
Quarkyguy- He turbo'd into Silver once. That was funny. I can't think of anything to put here. Every night he can visit a player, and if anyone who isn't a mafia member visits that player, the player chosen will die. (Witch)
Doesnt- what is balance. doesnt is a pro hacker. he also plays shitty hacks. shitty hacks have bad grammar. this gets doesnt mad. he is a grammar nazi after all. every night, he can choose a player. that player will be alerted that they have been visited by the nazi. if the nazi visited them, they can not edit their posts. if they make a post with incorrect grammar, the nazi needs to point this out to the host with the mistake. if this mistake is true, then that player will die. (Grammar Nazi)
Flandre- He is a cool guy. He's hosting events for nuzlockes to have something fun for everyone to do. But this is only a cover. He's really doing this to brainwash people to join the Fuccboi Resistance by wasting their time. We all know what he's planning. Every night, he can visit a player and make them play in an event, distracting them from doing their actions at night. (Hooker)
Rogue Admins (Third Party)
Pillowcase- Pillowcase is an ex-admin, and everyone knows who she is if they've spent more than 10 minutes on this site, really. Despite this kind demeanor, she used to be tied to the Fuccboi's, and thinks Letter is super dumb. She even closed one of his shitposting threads. She wants to take out the most important member of the Takeover, so that things can stay the way they are. Every night, she can investigate a player, and learn their role. Since she is close with Furfrou, she can see through his clothes and see everyone's true roles. Once per game, she can choose to kill someone. However, she only gets one kill, and to win, she needs to use this kill to kill Aviana, because she's the only other girl and we all know that there can only be one attractive girl at all times. She can not die, and will only leave the game when Aviana dies, regardless of who killed her. (Viral)
Zephyr- The very first member of Scumhunt, his legend is known to anyone who spends more than 10 minutes on Scumhunt. He is an admin, and really doesn't give a shit which side wins, but Letter paid him like $10 so he'll use his admin powers to take out the most important member of the Fuccboi's. Every night, he can investigate a player, and learn their role. Since Letter paid him good money, he doesn't actually visit anyone when he does his investigations. Once per game, he can choose to kill someone. However, he only gets one kill, and to win, he needs to use this kill to kill Princess Furfrou, since he won't make Letter a mod and that's who Letter wants dead. He can not die, and will only leave the game when Princess Furfrou dies, regardless of who killed him. (Viral)
Jonathan Joestar- The first JoJo in the series, Jonathan Joestar is the most righteous of all the Jojo's. His quest started as a form of revenge against Dio, and in his search for a way to beat him, he discovered the power of Hamon, a fighting technique that involves the use of creating sunlight using your breath. Using the power of Hamon, he can investigate someone every night and find out what part they come from. However, Jojo is a gentleman, and announces who he is to everyone he visits during the night. If Zeppeli dies while Jonathan is still alive, Jonathan will gain all of his Hamon strength, and will turn into a Detective instead of a Cop.
Zeppeli- Zeppeli is a master in the arts of Hamon, and is the one who taught Jonathan how to use it. His fate is to travel with Jonathan, and help him defeat Dio. His Hamon is more of a defensive Hamon, so every night, he can use his Hamon to protect someone from dying at night. If Zeppeli dies while Jonathan is still alive, Jonathan will gain all of his Hamon strength, and will turn into a Detective instead of a Cop.
Dio Brando- Dio is nothing more than a petty criminal brought into the Joestar Family. If investigated by Jonathan Joestar, he will show up as guilty. At any point during the game, Dio Brando can use the stone mask. The stone mask will grant him unlimited power. When the mask is used, it will be announced in the thread. Using his lovely voice, he can send anonymous messages throughout the thread for everyone to hear. However, he's weak to the sun light. Once he uses the mask, every time he posts during the day phase (not including his anonymous messages), he will have a stacking 5% chance of being revealed in the thread. He has the power to kill someone once per game anonymously, and suck away their life force, to revert that percentage back down to 0%. It should be noted that, since Hamon is the power of sunlight, anyone who uses the power of Hamon on Dio will kill him instantly after he uses the stone mask. (Hamon powers that kill Dio Brando: Jonathan Joestar via Investigating, Zeppeli via Protection, Caesar via Hooking)
Speedwagon- The coolest guy on Ogre Street, Speedwagon loves the honor of a gentleman, but isn't afraid to get dirty when it comes to fighting. He has a gun, and can fire it once per game. It will instantly reveal himself as the shooter. The gun will not kill Dio Brando if fired at him.
Erina- Erina is Jonathan Joestar's love interest in the series. Due to her gentle demeanor, if she is lynched, nobody will be able to die the next night. If she is visited by Jonathan Joestar, she will gain the ability to protect someone every other night, at the cost of preventing them from doing actions until the end of the next day phase. However, if she is visited by DIO, she will be too shocked to look Jonathan in the eye. Everyone will know who Erina is at that point. They'll know her as the girl who rejected DIO, and didn't even go back to Jonathan. She will be revealed in the thread, for everyone to make fun of her for not accepting our lord and savior DIO. Whoever visits Erina first will permanently change her to the role described.
Bruford- Bruford is a vampire, brought back to life by Dio Brando. Using his sword, Luck and Pluck, he can kill anyone at night. He's not very talkative however. If he tries to kill at night, and he fails to kill a mafia member, he will be silenced the next day.
Hamon Warriors- These are people who have trained in the art of Hamon their entire lives. Sadly, they are not as strong as the rest of the cast, but if they combine their power together, they can vote on someone to kill during the day.
Part 2: Battle Tendency
Joseph Joestar- The second Jojo in the series, and definitely the most fun of the first three, Joseph Joestar is the most cocky, arrogant, and cunning of all the Jojo's. He began his quest to make sure his grandmother's friend Speedwagon was alright, but it turned into something much more complicated than that. Joseph has a strange power besides his use of Hamon. He can predict what his opponent will say before they say it. This will shock the opponent long enough for Joseph to act on it. Every night, Joseph can choose a player, and any two words that are at least 4 letters long. If that player says any of those words during the day, Joseph will use his trick to shock the opponent long enough for him to beat them. As a note, if you try shortening your words to speaking like a 12 year old girl who just learned what texting was, that shit won't work. If Joseph incorrectly predicts the words, then the person he chose is told they were visited by Joseph at night. They then get the chance to pick a word (just one word), and that word will be put in effect on Joseph. If Joseph says that word, he will be so shocked at his trick being used against him that he'll die.
Caesar- Caesar is the grandson of Zeppeli, and wants to carry on his legacy. Due to how similar their Hamon powers are, Jonathan Joestar will think he comes from Part 1. If Zeppeli dies while Caesar is still alive, he will be able to use his Hamon powers to trap people in his bubbles, preventing them from doing any actions until the start of the next night phase.
ACDC- ACDC is the first pillar man. He is quite cunning, and can trick people using his emotions. He also has the ability to boil his blood, and inject it into other people's bodies. Every night, he can inject his boiling blood into someone, and they will burn to death at the end of the next night phase. Zeppeli can use his Hamon powers to remove the boiling blood from people, and prevent them from dying though. He can poison anyone he wants, including other mafia members, as long as he gives me a valid reason for why he's doing it.
Wham- Wham is the second pillar man. He is quite honorable, and if challenged to a duel by someone he sees strong, he will accept. Every night, he can choose a player, and challenge them to a duel. The duel is a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, and takes place during the following day phase. Both players in the duel must send me a PM saying which one they choose. If the player chosen does not respond with an answer, they will automatically lose. If Wham does not respond to the PM, the duel will be called off. If Wham wins, whoever he chose will die. If the person he challenged wins, Wham will be struck with grief over his loss. He will gouge his own eyes out to get better eyesight. This will reveal him in the thread as Wham. He can still duel afterwards, but the person he chooses to duel will be publicly revealed in the thread at the start of the day. He can choose to duel anyone in the game, as long as he gives me a valid reason why if they're a mafia member.
Kars- Kars is the third, and strongest of the pillar men. Kars is searching for a cure to his weakness to sunlight, and he's finally found it. The stone mask, combined with a certain Jewel, allows Kars to become Ultimate Kars. He can not become Ultimate Kars until ACDC and Wham die. Kars has no powers.
Ultimate Kars- When ACDC and Wham die, Kars turns into Ultimate Kars. Ultimate Kars is the Ultimate Lifeform. His actions will always have the highest priority. Once per game, he can kill anyone at any time, and the doc won't be able to stop him. He will gain the ability to use the powers of every other person from Part 2, but can only use one of them each night. He can survive an extra kill. At the cost of one of his lives, he can also convert someone into the mafia at night, but he won't be able to do any actions the next night as he recovers from using an immense amount of power. If he tries converting DIO, the conversion will fail, and Kars will still need to recharge, but he will be able to try again once he is done recharging.
Vampire- The Pillar Men are able to create vampires, which they use to either fight for them, or as a nice midnight snack. These vampires are somewhat generic, so they have no powers besides killing someone at night.
Part 3: Stardust Crusaders
Jotaro- The third Jojo in the series, Jotaro is the most serious of all the Jojo's. Jotaro thought his stand was an evil spirit, but when he learned what it was, and how to control it, he went on a quest with his grandfather to stop DIO from killing his mother. His stand, Star Platinum, is thought to be one of the strongest stands in the series. Every night, he can investigate someone, and learn their role. He also has the option to go all out with Star Platinum and unleash a fury of attacks to kill someone, but can only do it once. He wins and ends the game once he kills DIO. If DIO dies by anyone else's hands, then Jotaro will leave the game a loser.
DIO- You thought he was a village role, but it was him, DIO. DIO in Part 3 is in fact the very same Dio from Part 1. 100 years after the events of Part 1, Dio was given the power of a stand named "The World". Now, he will use that very stand to wipe out the thing he hates most, and the only thing preventing him from being truly free, the Joestar family line. He has the power to investigate two people every night, and learn their roles. He has a grand total of three kills he can do at night. One for each Joestar. Using his stand, he can control time. This will allow him to see who visits him at night. Once per game, he can use his stand to make a phase repeat. If used during the day, another day phase will happen after the phase ends. If used during the night, another night phase will happen after the phase ends. He has also been strengthened during the one hundred year period, and the only people who can kill him are the same people he is trying to kill. If any of them visit him at night, DIO will be no more. He wins and leaves the game once Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, and Jotaro are dead while he is still alive, regardless of who kills them.
tldr
Village: Jonathan Joestar- Cop, reveals himself to people he investigates. When doc dies, becomes detective. Zeppeli- Doc Dio Brando- Miller, Can Transform at any time to Town Crier. 5% stacking chance of being revealed with each post. Can kill someone to turn it to 0% again. Speedwagon- Sheriff Erina- Virgin, if visited by Jonathan, becomes a Nurse every other night. If visited by DIO, becomes a Celebrity Bruford- Vigilante, silenced if he fails to kill a mafia when he tries to kill
Mafia: Joseph Joestar- Voodoo, if he fails, his target can voodoo him, can choose two words instead of the normal one Caesar- Godfather, When doc dies, becomes a hooker ACDC- Poisoner Wham- Can challenge people to Rock/Paper/Scissors. If he wins, they die. If he loses, he becomes a Gramps. Won't learn who Jonathan is if visited while he's Gramps. Kars- No Powers until Wham and ACDC die Ultimate Kars- Two lives. Guaranteed Kill at any time. Can use powers of anyone else in the mafia. Can spend a life to yak someone. Can't use powers the night after. Can't yak DIO, but won't waste a life trying to yak him.
Third Party: Jotaro- Viral, Wins and Ends game when he kills DIO DIO- Viral with three kills, leaves and ends game when Jonathan, Joseph, and Jotaro die. Can investigate two people at once. Sees who visits him at night. Once per game, can make the same phase happen again (aka two day phases in a row, or two night phases in a row) Can only die if Jonathan, Joseph, or Jotaro visit him.
Cop turning detective when the Doc dies seems good to me, mostly because the difference between Cop and Detective is relatively small. The only thing I could see detective being more useful over cop here is if he finds the mafia sided JoJo and has the clear post that info in the thread so that DIO can kill him, allowing village to use their lynch elsewhere. Not bad. (I think of another use later)
Doc, though not particularly unique, is fine protection and unique protection often does more harm to setups than it does good.
Dio seems really interesting to me. He can make for a solid clear but you need to be really careful with him. Though one thing to clarify: Does his chance to reveal start after using the stone mask or is it always there? I assume the former.
A Sheriff seems... Somewhat out of place in a game with a crier, but I suppose village needs to get organized somehow.
Virgin who becomes a second protection role seems kind of off, just because two protections kind of sucks. The main thing about it is that if you get Speedwagon leading D1 (which is super easy) then you can just have Erina get the cop to spend a visit on her. Also, question: If she's visited by one, does the effect of the other visiting her disappear, or is that always a potential to reveal her?
For the Vig, is the goal to make people not want to kill or to make them think harder about who they kill? As it stands, the Vig is just not going to kill if it might silence him. Actually because of the existence of a Crier, having Bruford lead seems even better than Speedwagon, since then Dio can lead the lynch when Bruford is silenced and mafia can't just look for who isn't speaking and suspect them. I dunno, I just feel like something's missing.
Neat spin you've placed on Voodoo there, though considering Voodoo isn't very reliable to begin with you might want to make him a bit better. Like, have two trigger words and either of them will kill the target. Or something. If you give a downside to an established role, there should be an extra benefit to the role as well, unless you're trying to get the role to serve a specific purpose.
Hookfather seems reasonable enough, especially compared to the other things here.
Normally, I would be opposed to Poisoner. It gives basically a distraction for the Doc, allowing mafia to make their move on the clear if they think the Doc will be saving the one who was poisoned, and in general give mafia more power than they need. But then you have an easy to get second protection role as well, but the second is a nurse and can't cure the poison. So when someone is poisoned, the Doc is on the poisoned and the Nurse is on the clear, meaning the clear's action (if they have one) can't happen and Mafia know who's probably protected. Balancing Poisoner in this way is actually really clever, even if you weren't planning on that being the case.
As for Wham, I don't know shit about JoJo but how the fuck does removing your eyes improve your eyesight? I should watch JoJo. The fact that losing the duel gives Wham a consolation prize is pretty okay, though giving him a detriment instead would make more sense from a gameplay perspective. I mean I get that he loses the ability to duel after that but knowing that someone visited you is also kind of valuable. In fact, I think getting a draw would be worse for Wham than losing the duel.
Kars is a bit interesting. Against Cop, it's virtually a game of luck, on which guilties and RLs take out the pillar men first. Against Detective, it's a completely different story. If one of the pillar men is dead and they find out who the other one is, they can just choose not to get rid of them until Kars is out of the picture. A really interesting strategy I can see is having ACDC poison Wham N1 and then Wham beats ACDC in a duel N2, killing both of them at once to allow Kars to power up, considering Ultimate Kars can get an extra (strongman) kill and can Yak someone WITHOUT KILLING HIMSELF, AND he can still do the actions that the other pillar men had to begin with. This role alone adds a ton of depth to the game.
Viral who kills instead of investigates would normally be okay, except for the small fact that there are already so many kills going on in this game jesus christ. Please tell me this is going on Nuzforums because it would never work on Scumhunt.
DIO seems a bit underpowered. With only one investigation each night, he'll be hard pressed to find anyone, and since any of the three JoJos visiting him will kill him, he's going to be out really soon, even with the benefit of N1.5 to work with. If he had multiple investigations each night, he'd be better.
tl;dr: You've got a really fast-paced game here, and it seems like it'd be super fun to take part in it. It has a lot of opportunity for strategy, which is something you don't often see happening in games without a specific theme to the setup. A few parts seem a bit overpowered or underpowered, but overall they seem to cancel each other out.
I cleared up some stuff, and made some changes to DIO, Joseph, and Wham following your suggestions. I'll try to see what I can do about the other characters though.
Reveal Mafia: At the start of every phase, a random player's role is revealed in the thread.
Village: A role that can pick a player and see their true role (Super Detective, I guess) Mafia: Framer, Lawyer Third Party: Amnesiac
Potential Ideas: Village and Mafia get a celebrity with the same name, and are both revealed at the same time A role that can influence who gets revealed (Third Party, maybe)
>reveal every phase this is only beneficial to mafia when a village pr is revealed and even then if there isnt a clear yet then the first pr reveal is good to lead unless doc is revealed it's beneficial to village in every other instance since an n1 villager reveal is good to lead too balance pls or do you mean that super detective is the only village role
