So a bunch of people were talking about this VN a while back (And by a bunch of people I mean one person (And by one person I mean Letter)) and so I ended up playing it. Then I made a Mafia game out of it even though I've only done three of the paths.
I would also like to say that it is really hard to make special abilities out of characters who all have noticeable disabilities.
Main characters (Village) Shizune & Misha: Shizune (Right) is deaf and mute, but it's okay, since Misha (Left) knows sign language. During the day, Shizune can send anonymous messages to the host, who will translate them from "sign language" to english, though it will be altered to fit Misha's speech patterns. However, Misha is also a player, but thinks she's a villager. If Misha dies, Shizune not only loses her ability, but becomes permanently silenced, unless someone else learns sign language. While silenced, Shizune is able to vote anonymously by PM. Lilly: As the class representative, everyone knows who Lilly is at the start of the game. Unfortunately, Lilly is blind. This makes it easy to be lied to. NO ONE (except Hanako) can send Lilly direct PMs, but EVERYONE can send PMs to Lilly anonymously. Except for Shizune, who has absolutely no way to contact Lilly. Lilly can't send PMs to anyone, but can respond to specific PMs directly. Hanako: Hanako reads a lot of books. Since books make you smart, this allows Hanako to investigate someone each night to learn their alignment. She's also very timid, so each night there is a 25% chance that she'll be silenced for the next day, though this will never happen if she doesn't investigate anyone the night before. Hanako will never be silenced two nights in a row. Hanako is also the only player who is able to PM Lilly directly. She is still able to do so while silenced. Emi: Emi has no legs, but that doesn't stop her from being on the Track team. At night, Emi can bring someone to run a few laps with her. During that time, that person can't die. However, there's a 25% chance that Emi will trip and crash into them, which results in her hooking them instead of protecting them. Rin: Rin's unique views on life allow her to visit someone each night and tell them the names of three players. At least one of these players will always be mafia. Due to having no arms, Rin can't visit someone unless that person also visit someone, because she would be unable to open their door. Students: Other people at the school. They can participate, but they aren't anything special.
Less important characters (Mafia) Mutou: Mutou is a teacher, so if he catches someone using incorrect grammar, he'll kill them. Because that's how school works, right? Each night, Mutou can visit one player to watch them. If he spots an error and points it out to the host, so long as the student doesn't spot their mistake and correct it before the day ends, they'll die. However, if a student makes and points out an error, and Mutou don't spot the same error, Mutou will be unable to use his ability for the next two nights. If Mutou visits Hanako, she can't be silenced that phase. Yuuko: Yuuko works two jobs; one at the school's library and the other at a nearby cafe. As a result, Yuuko is able to hook two players every night, one by reading a book and the other by eating at the cafe. But she's also a bit clumsy, so on nights where she works both of her jobs, both actions have a 50% chance to be redirected to a player at random. Head Nurse: The Nurse's job is to keep people from dying. Because of this, he's able to visit a player every night to prevent that player from being lynched during the following day. But because he spends all his time working with the students and isn't around the teachers much, he doesn't know which players are village and which players are mafia. Kenji: Kenji's view on life is that all women are evil and must be stopped. Because of this, Kenji can visit someone each night and investigate them to learn their gender. Half of the ordinary students are female, and the other half male. Kenji's poor eyesight makes him see Rin, who wears a male school uniform, as a man. After Hisao visits someone successfully, Kenji will have more free time on his hands, and will spend that time convincing others of his delusions. If Kenji visits the same player as Hanako, Hanako's investigation results will appear as village for any character Kenji sees as male, and mafia for any character Kenji sees as female. This also affects Rin's messages; If Kenji visits a female character, she will definitely appear in Rin's message, and if he visits a male character, he will never appear in Rin's message.
Third Party Hisao: At the start of the game, Hisao doesn't exist. Once any village PR (including Misha) dies, a random living villager turns into Hisao and gets the ability to visit one player each night. The first village PR he visits will fall in love with him (excluding Misha). They'll learn who Hisao is, and if he survives three days and nights after that (Or until the game ends), he'll leave the game as a winner. In addition, Hisao's lover will instantly become a third party and win the game when he does. However, if Hisao's lover dies before then, Hisao will have a heart attack and die as well. If Hisao die by other means, his lover does not. After falling in love, Hisao is able to assist his lover in her actions: -Shizune's translations will be more coherent, as Hisao will be translating for her instead of Misha. Misha will learn who Shizune is. -Lilly will be able to be messaged directly during the day, and can message Hisao directly any time. -Hanako will be able to speak to Hisao by PM while she is silenced and will learn her target's role instead of alignment. -Emi will always successfully protect, but will still sometimes hook at the same time. -Rin will be able to visit anyone. If Hisao dies, these benefits are lost. Investigations towards Hisao will treat him as a village player and his win does not end the game.
tldr Shizune: Crier whose words end up getting mixed up a bit. Loses power and becomes silenced if Misha dies. Misha: Thinks is villager, presence allows Shizune to do Crier stuff. Lilly: Celeb who can only be PM'd anonymously. Hanako: Cop who randomly becomes silenced sometimes. Emi: Doc who sometimes hooks instead of protects. Rin: Caroler who can only visit if her target visits.
Mutou: Grammar Nazi who gets hooked for two nights if his target makes an intentional error and he doesn't spot it. Yuuko: Double Hooker who might get redirected if she uses both hooks on the same night. Nurse: Lynch-Quack who doesn't know other Mafia. Kenji: Really shitty investigation that becomes a really shitty Befuddler as well later.
Hisao: Heavily modified Lover. Goal is to survive three days after falling in love. Feedback is appreciated.

Does Misha count as a PR death for Hisao? She's not really much of a PR, but she's listed there.
Also how are you gonna enforce the whole 50% chance of knowing who sent the PM thing?

I'm gonna say Misha doesn't count for that.
The 50% would mean that if someone sends me something to relay to Lilly, I'll flip a coin to determine if I would also reveal the name of the person who sent it.

Hanako: You read a lot of books. Since books make you smart, this allows you to investigate someone each night to learn their alignment. You're also very timid, so each night there is a 25% chance that you'll be silenced for the next day if you do investigate.

As in character as this is, this seems really broken combined with Yuuko's framing.
In fact, a lot of the PR's have silencing as a secondary effect. That's a little too easy for mafia to find the PR's as a result. "Oh, Letter didn't talk at all today even though he's an active player, he must be Shizune (the only right choice for a waifu in this game may I add)" or "Oh, Letter talked last phase, but said literally nothing this phase, maybe he's Hanako."
Even the mafia have a silence side effect for their hooker, so village can go "Oh, Letter claimed villager, and didn't talk today. Maybe he's mafia, we'll get him next phase."
I'm not really sure what else you can do about it, but there's three PR's who don't have the ability to speak, one of which is permanently once Misha and Hisao die. That might be a little bit overboard.

When I was making the game, it was with the express idea of "It is possible for PRs to get figured out instead of randomly guessing and hoping you hit one." Village gets a good deal too, with two investigative roles giving them a slight edge. The game is designed so that something is always happening.
The secondary goal of this game is to make it easy to lie to the other side using the mechanics of the game itself. Lilly's detriment is a more direct cause of this, but the silencing works just the same. For example, Mutou CCing Hanako is a distinct possibility since they both get silenced just as often. But then you have the trouble of not being able to kill Hanako because Mutou would be dead right after that.
On Village's side, a villager could PM Lilly to say "Hey I'm gonna pretend to be silenced today to make them think I'm Hanako." But the Mafia can do the same to cover Mutou's tracks. For example, on a day Mutou gets silenced, send a PM claiming to be that player to Lilly saying the same thing a Villager would say.
From there, the village has to decide if it's even worth it to keep having Lilly lead or if they should just get someone else to lead. At the same time, Mafia would be having separate struggles of who to kill, since if Village does get Shizune successfully leading, their options to get rid of her are either to kill Misha, kill Emi, or hope Emi is hooked randomly, all three of which are down to luck, meaning they would desperately want to keep anyone else out of the lead position, which is possible through lying to Lilly.
Heck, the lying doesn't even stop there. Mafia can tell Lilly that they are anyone claiming any role, and there is no risk to doing that. Hisao can foil this by picking Lilly when he's able to, but does he want to? Lilly is far more likely to die within four phases after the visit than anyone else.
Mechanics are at the heart of this game, and the idea is that you have to use the PRs' skills and downsides to your advantage, regardless of which side you're on.

See the problem with hosting this is I don't want to do it on nuz because it would make more sense to host it here, and hosting it here would require more players than I usually get.
I suppose now could work with all these games ending soon, but I dunno. No harm in trying, I suppose, but it's late and I want to check over the setup. Most notable is I might actually make a few of the silence-related changes you mentioned months ago, and I'll probably either buff Kenji or make him some sort of mafia member because too many third parties for a scumhunt game.

So I made some changes to make things more balanced. Mafia didn't have that much to work with outside of the role that doesnt know the other mafia, so I made mafia a bit better, and I changed a few of the other roles a bit.
Shizune Not silenced when Misha dies, instead can talk normally (Shizune can write notes and shit) for two days before just straight-up dying, because being silenced permanently is basically the same as death. Being visited by Hisao in this time cancels the effect. Misha's death now allows Hisao to visit.
Mutou Complete change into Grammar Nazi, because teachers. Detriment is that if the nazi'd person intentionally makes an error and points it out to the host, and Mutou doesn't spot it, Mutou can't visit for the next two nights.
Kenji Now a mafia role because too many thirds. Complete change into Befuddler (Since that's what people with both framer and lawyer abilities are called now). If the person he visits is female (Half the villagers are female), investigations towards her will get a guilty and she will count as mafia when RNGing Rin's visit results. If the person he visits is male, investigations will lead to an innocent report and they'll count as a villager in regards to Rin's visit. Detriment is that 25% of the time he gets the opposite effect, and Rin appears always male.
Yuuko I suppose with Mutou not a hooker Yuuko can be the hooker, because books take a long time to read. Detriment is that 25% of the time, it'll redirect to a random player, which can include mafia.
Hisao Doesn't exist until he's able to visit. Instead, once a village PR dies, a random living villager becomes Hisao. If all the villagers are dead before any village PRs then what the fuck is wrong with this mafia. Only needs three days instead of four, since scumhunt games are shorter. Only problem left is that I would need at least fifteen people for this to have a balanced number of villagers, and I'm not going to drop any village PRs because they're equally important.
If you spot something imbalanced about this point it out.
