Zero Escape is far too good of a theme for me to waste it all on something dumb like my first game, so I'm gonna try to do it a second time now that I actually know what I'm doing a bit more. I'll get to the gimmick I wanna implement in a second, but the main setup is going to be similar to Dayafter's Dangan Ronpa mafia setup in which every PR (with some exceptions) can be village aligned or mafia aligned. Some roles, but not all, may have differing roles depending on their alignment. Oh and there will be vanilla players in this game, and alignment will be revealed upon death. Now, for the gimmick: The AB Game At the beginning of every day phase, every living player is sorted into pairs that play against each other. (There is no AB Game on Night 1.) If there is an odd number of living players, the odd person out joins a single person who they can collaborate with against their opponent. During the night, each person can choose to "ally" or "betray" their opponent via PMing the host. Hypothetical Scenario Time! Letter and Snake are paired together for the AB game. Scenario 1: Both Letter and Snake pick "ally". They both gain 2 points. Scenario 2: Letter picks "betray" and Snake picks "ally". Letter gains 3 points, and Snake loses 2 points. Scenario 3: Snake picks "betray" and Letter picks "ally". Snake gains 3 points, and Letter loses 2 points. Scenario 4: Both Letter and Snake pick "betray". They both lose 1 point. Everyone starts out with 3 points. All of the numerical values are tentative; these are just the values they have in the game (besides the ones in scenario 4) so I'll change them if they're too imbalanced for right now. If someone is inactive, or if the pair playing as one sends in conflicting PMs, they automatically pick "ally." If both opposing parties are inactive, they both lose 1 point. If someone's points drop to 0, they die. Oh, and here's the kicker: if anyone manages to get to 9 points, they and only they win and end the game, regardless of whether they're Village or Mafia. For the sake of recording this game, it will count as a third-party win. At the start of each day after the AB Game, the number of points everyone has is revealed in-thread, along with the new matchups. (And in case you were wondering, pairs are announced at the beginning of day phase so that the day can be used to publicly discuss strategy for the AB game. Plus it's more accurate flavour-wise.) Roles Sigma - Village role is some Doc-type role. Mafia role is Terrorist, because we all know from experience how much fun those are. Phi - Village role is Dreamer. Mafia role is a modified Tailor where she only dresses people up to show as village or mafia upon death. Tenmyouji - Village role is Bulletproof maybe? Mafia role is Janitor. Quark - Village role is Virgin. Mafia role is MILF, disgusting imagery aside. Alice - Village role is Cop. Mafia role is Gramps. Luna - Village role is Drunk. Mafia role is Silencer. K - Village role is Bleeder. Mafia role is basically mafia-sided hunter where he can take someone down with him (random or chosen? i'm not sure yet) when he runs out of points/is lynched. (i feel like there's an official name for this role but i can't recall it right now) Clover - Can make her AB game opponent pick "ally" once per game. This will always be her ability regardless of her alignment. Dio - Just because this guy's a piece of shit in the actual game, he's going to be the only role that has a fixed alignment. Dio is always mafia, and he's an Interceptor. There's also a third party role that I'm not sure if I want to put in yet: Zero - Wins the game if they are alive on a village win. Does participate in the AB Game, but cannot win by getting 9 points. Aside from the necessary alterations made to accommodate the AB game, this role is your garden-variety Autocrat. So yeah, I'd appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks. Edited by SpectrumPanda, Nov 14 2015, 09:37 PM.
