Welcome, my fellow Scumhunters!
Are you ready for a blast from the past, a race through time and space that defies all expectations?
Right, this is a new series of games, devoted to reinacting the games of old. All of those amazing times will be replayed in these threads! I mean, who wouldn't want to have another go at Zephyr's Death Note, or Scout's Permafrost? We won't be changing the rules, roles or flavor any bit. All of this will be traditional and as the authors intended it to be. Stap up those seatbelts, kids, because we're in for a rocket ride with the old Delorian.

The Story
Coming soon!
The Rules
Spoiler: click to toggle > You cannot play in a way that is purposely detrimental to your faction. > Screenshots or any other form of infallible information is forbidden. Forge-able information is allowed, of course. > Use of information of a game-changing nature that is sourced from outside of the current game or previous games or from your esteemed host is forbidden. > The goal of the teams is to destroy the other two. > The goal of the third-party members is to complete their individual win-conditions. > The day-phase lasts 24 hours. > The night-phase lasts 24 hours. > Players will post on the game thread and vote to lynch individuals during the day-phase. > The lynch will occur on whatever lynch has the most votes attached to it. > If there is a tie in the votes, the last vote on one of the tied lynches will be executed. > During the night, Leo-players may send a PM to the host in which they cast their vote for the night-kill. > Power-roles or other abilities can be activated during the night by PM'ing the host. > The individual receiving the most votes will die by the Leo's hands. > If there is a tie in the number of votes, no player will be targeted. > Individuals that have not voted on the thread for two phases in a row will be removed from the game without hesitation. > The dead may not post anything of a game-changing nature on the thread. > Victory conditions for other factions are detailed with the roles. > Roles are revealed on death. > If you are inactive for an entire day/night cycle you will be removed from the game. If you have a night ability about you do not communicate usage two nights in a row you will be removed from the game. Please note that if you have a one time use ability you are not required to use it at any particular time, but if you do not communicate about its usage or nonusage two nights in a row you will be removed from the game.
The Roles:
Spoiler: click to toggle Teams:
The Ondore Resistance - 5 Players
- Marquis Halim Ondore the IV - His vote counts double. If the Marquis Ondore dies in any way, his whole faction falls. The Marquis Ondor knows Havharo. - Havharo - On any one night during the game, Havharo can choose his own job from the twelve zodiac jobs. He knows Marquis Ondore. - Rebel - On any one night during the game, the rebel can choose his own job from the twelve zodiac jobs.
Archedian Imperial Forces - 5 Players
- Vayne Solidor - His vote counts double. If Vayne solidor dies in any way, his whole faction falls. He knows Venat. - Venat – On any one night during the game, Venat can choose his own job from the twelve zodiac jobs. It knows Vayne Solidor. - Imperial soldier - On any one night during the game, the soldier can choose his own job from the twelve zodiac jobs.
Occurian Counsel - 5 players
- Gerun, Counsel Master – Its vote counts double. If Gerun dies in any way, the whole of the counsel falls. It knows Yeruh. - Yeruh, Counsel Hand – On any one night during the game, Yeruh can choose his own job from the twelve zodiac jobs. It knows Gerun. - Occurian Counselor - On any one night during the game, the counselor can choose its own job from the twelve zodiac jobs.
Twelve Zodiac Jobs:
Aries - The White Mages of Aries can choose one player every night. This player will be protected from attempts to kill them. They cannot target themselves. There can only be a maximum of two Aries in any one faction.
Taurus - On death, the Taurus will, in a blind rage, target any one player and take them down with them into the grave.
Gemini - The shapeshifting Gemini can choose one player every night, and minic whatever power they have, with a new target.
Cancer - The hard shells of Cancer have the ability to resist any one event of death to the player.
Leo – The Leo has no special powers. However, they do gain the ability to vote during the night. Any votes that form a majority among the Leos will result in a night-kill. The minimum amount of votes to cause a night-kill is two.
Virgo - The Virgo is the purity incarnate. They have no powers, but neither can they be converted or targeted by powers that kill during the night.
Libra – Once the Libra role has been chosen, the player will be informed of random members of their faction’s identity, once every night. This includes them being converted. Known members by the player can be targeted.
Scorpio - The scorpio can choose a single player each night. Their active night actions will be cancelled.
Sagittarius - The Rangers of Sagittarius have such a deadly aim, that at any point during the game, they can kill a single player.
Capricorn - The capricious Capricorn can target any one player per night. That player will be prohibited to post during the next day. At the same time, they can force the player to post one message in the thread, by sending the GM that message.
Aquarius - The well-wishers of Aquarius can redirect the flow of energies. Once during the game, they can force a player to switch roles to one of her own choice. Aquarius can’t target Flagbearers or Third-party roles with this ability. She can target herself.
Pisces - Once during the game, the Pisces as the ability to revive a single player who had been previously killed. It does not matter how far in the game it has been since their death. The powers of that person will be reset.
Third party:
Ba'Gamnan
Power - Ba'GamSaw:
Ba'Gamnan can choose any ONE of beneath displayed powers once every night. Ba'Gamman wins and leaves the game when Balthier has died with the cause being BA'GAMNAN's ABILITY. If Balthier dies because lynching/powers/any other way, he loses the game.
- Eye on the bounty: Ba'Gamnan chooses a player, and that player's alliance will be revealed to him, be it Resistance, Imperial, Undying, Kiltias or Other. - Aim for the throat: Ba'Gamnan chooses a player, and that Player will die a horrible death. This ability can be used only once. - Fake Hunt: Once during the game, Ba'Gamnan can redirect all night actions onto himself, regardless of what they are.
Gran Kiltias Anastasis
Power - Dreamsage:
The Kiltias are a devout group of followers of Anastasis, who value peace and refuge about all. Through the method of dream-voyaging, the Gran Kiltias is able to view the hopes and dreams of others, and help them on their path to enlightenment. Every night, the Gran Kiltias can choose a player. This player will be converted to a Kiltias, on top of their previous role. Kiltias are allied to the Gran Kiltias, but do not lose their powers. Only the Gran Kiltias Anastasis can convert others. Flagbearers and Balthier cannot be converted by this power. If a Flagbearer dies then any followers of Kiltias associated with that Flagbearer will still die. Anastasis wins if he has a majority of Kiltias, and the game will end. If the Gran Kiltias Anastasis dies in any way, all Kiltias lose their affinity with the faction and return to serve their own respective causes.
Balthier Ffamram Mied Bunansa
Power - Leadership:
Balthier wins if he is the one leading three lynches over the course of the game. (Meaning that he must be the first one to post Vote: Player.) It does not matter if these are consecutive or not, just as long as the target he intended is lynched. When he has all three lynches on his name, the game ends and Balthier is declared the winner.
Judge-Magister
Power – Judgment of the Innocent:
The Judge-Magister has the ability to ‘’Judge’’ a player each night. This player will then be safe from ALL night actions, but neither will they be able to post during the following day-phase.
How the Judge-Magister wins:
- When the Judge-Magister has judged every player currently playing in the game, he wins and the game ends.
Chocobo Moogle Gurdy
Power – Hide n’ Seek:
On the first night, the Chocobo Master can send their Chocobo to a player of their choice. At the end of this phase, the Master will become known of that player’s role. However, the Chocobo will then defect to the aforementioned player. This player will then be notified of the Chocobo’s presence, and can use it to divine the role of one player. However, again, the chocobo will defect at the end of the night-phase and pledge loyalty to the target. This will continue on into infinity. If the Chocobo is not used two nights in a row it will flee back to Gurdy. When the Chocobo can find its way back to the Master, the Master will gain information on every investigation the Chocobo has made during its journey.
How the Master wins:
- The Master needs to send the GM a PM with the roles of at least 10 players. If there is a mistake in this PM, the win is invalid. They can send only one PM each night.

One suggestion I will make to participants: Everyone pick Scorpio. It's the best role. Except you shouldn't because if everyone's Scorpio nothing will ever happen.

Changes
- Add that Ba'Gamnan does NOT end the game when he wins; he simply leaves. - Add to the Gran Kiltas that if a Flagbearer dies, his followers still die as well. - Add to Balthier's role that he has to be the first one to ''Vote: Player X'' on the lynch target. - Slight change to the Chocobo mechanic. If the Chocobo is not used for two nights in a row it will flee back to Gurdy. (This may change again, there was a lot of back and forth on this.) - Edit all of the second in commands with this: On any one night during the game, the <second's name> can choose his own job from the twelve zodiac jobs. - Change the scorpio role to: Scorpio - The scorpio can choose a single player each night. Their active night actions will be cancelled.
Think that's everything, if there's anything else that looks wrong (or if I just goofed something up, Syras) let me know.

GAME INITIATING…
[flavour.txt] RETRIEVING...
flavour.txt It had been a silent day. Nothing, not even the tiniest rustle or quirk had disturbed the peace that had wrapped itself around the Westersand. This huge expanse of desert that made up the entire western area of Rabanaster was a desolate wasteland, with jagged rocks and violent sandstorms barring entrance to all who wished to set foot. Truly, solitude reigned supreme. That is, until a roaring shadow cast itself over the outer reaches of the waste. The object casting this darkness was nothing more than a menacing sky-fortress, the Bahamut, couple with two floating warships. Standing over a kilometer tall, with massive glossair-rings to keep it elevated, the fortress tardily crept ever forward to demolish everything in its path.
Aviana frowned. Something...
On the helm, Vayne Solidor, the ruler of the Imperial State of Archedia, stood proudly. Arms crossed and eyes peering into the distance, he could already feel the victory nearing his grasp. Truly, he was an arrogant man, yet he had the intelligence and wit to give his persona strength. It was not that he merely thought he would be the victor... it was a certainty, devoid of all involvements of chance. As the Bahamut slowly advanced towards the kingdom of Dalmasca's capital, numerous other specks of black started clouding the earth. Blasting inwards from the eastern borders of the Estersand, a gigantic army assembled itself. It were the insurgents of Bhujerba and the sky-pirates of Balfonheim, having joined hands in a final attempt to end the war. Shivering yet steadfast in his determination, the Marquis Halim Ondore the IV clutched his cane to keep his posture. Drips of sweat ran across the lines of his face, as he observed the giant in the distance. The Bahamut would prove to be a mountain of force, that much was certain. However, he did not come unprepared. The last few weeks, the rebellion had honed its edge in training. Next to this, there were no better pilots than the aerial pirates that accompanied the resistance. He had to keep faith in their victory, as otherwise, all would be for naught.
She crossed her arms, pacing and examining the scene. Something felt off here. Something was not right.
The two forces marched ever towards each other, none wavering in their determination. Two would battle, and only one would survive... or would it? 'Foolish mortals! You wreck and scorch the Ivalice with your need for power. Long have we stood and watched as you destroyed each other, oft have we excused and pardoned your behavior... But no more! We, the stewards of hist'ry's weave, will abolish, judge and cleanse you. The time of repentance has come, so pity your fate. We are the gods of this world, and will not let you tear the world apart.' The heavens tore asunder, as a ray of light shone downwards. A holy spectacle, enveloping the plains of desolace in miraculous glory. From above, the Occurian Counsel stood watching, their eyes blazing. 'Tonight, we shall fasten our reigns. No longer will meddling be tolerated. Behold your nemesis, the treasures of the Sun-Cryst that you all once sought. These creatures and abominations of Magicite and Nethecite will exterminate all who oppose the Gods.'
Syrassil's words. She heard his narration; she recognised his style. But she had seen Syrassil go down to the battle and he was not narrating. Why was he not delivering his own words?
From high above, hundreds of chucks rained down on the world. Shards of both Nethecite and Magicite lumped together to form Summonstones. In a radiant flash, all activated, and soon, the beasts of legend and lore crashed downwards. Gigias, corruptors or monsters, they were among the ranks, ready to tear the life out of both the Imperial and Resistance's war effort. It would be a war to remember, one that would shape the course of history.
She would have to watch and see what was going on, but there was something... Spoiler: click to toggle OOC: Credit to Syrassil for the FFXII related part of this flavour. I yoinked it (with permission, of course) from the original game.
