Welcome to Scumhunt. We hope you enjoy your visit.
You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. This means you are limited to certain areas of the board and there are some features you can't use. If you join Scumhunt, you'll be able to take part in the Mafia games that go on here. Signing up is free to do; just click the link below.
I'll do the rest of my nominations later, but these were going to be based off the tally anyway, so there's no reason to put them off.
Nominations
Best Overall Player - Jessi Like, seriously. 71.1% win rate out of 45 games this year. That's a good 15% higher than anyone else with a similar number of games.
Best Village Player - Letter Most village wins, and he's a very solid village player. A good clear, a good supporting PR, and he'll speak up as a villager. That's pretty much all you can ask for.
Best Mafia Player - Beams He's got similar mafia wins to people with a good 10 more games under their belt, and he's rather good at flying under the radar. He's not exactly a slouch at influencing the village either.
Best Other Player - Shock Second most combined third party and faction wins.
Best New Player - Brodioh Most games I've played with Brodioh, he's done really well. I'm not sure his win rate reflects his effort, but he's still rather close to 50% regardless. I've been impressed by his intuition as a PR and by his ability to scumhunt.
Biggest Village win= Scumhunt gang wars Biggest Mafia win= Lego Movie Mafia
Also, biggest win needs to have an actual player tied with it. For the CULT CULT CULT nominations I have PSN down right now, but other entries won't be logged unless there's a player with it.

Best Player - Blood Basically Letter summed it up pretty well. If you're mafia and he's not, you want him out as soon as possible. As mafia he can also control the game extremely effectively. He's just an all round great player.
I'm putting this down as best overall, but please let me know if it should be somewhere else.
Lego Mafia is hard to pin to someone because it was a group effort. Every single player in the mafia had a role they played in the win. Blood was the one who CC'd the doc, Pory was the one who yak'd Aviana, Aviana was the one who got the doc to protect Pory, and I was in charge of stalling the day once Ilvo died, plus the evil post. All 4 of us were needed for the win, so you can't really pin it to one person.
Yeah we had this trouble with Batmafia last year, honestly.(Also, flattering, but I wasn't really needed for the win in my role with switching the doc over.)

without you it would've taken like an extra phase and i might not have gotten to post my evil post
just credit to me because of that post it was cool
No idea why he wasn't nominated yet. Joined at the start of the year, and he's been a real solid player. Smart as mafia, good as village, he knows what he's doing. The fact that no one noticed this is also good, since it means he's good at laying low.
You know the funniest part about all the Viral hype? I wonder how many of you remember Ba'Gamnan from Capture the Flag.
They're similar enough to amuse me.
Ba'Gamnan
Power - Ba'GamSaw:
Ba'Gamnan can choose any ONE of beneath displayed powers once every night. Ba'Gamman wins the game when Balthier has died with the cause being BA'GAMNAN's ABILITY. If Balthier dies because lynching/powers/any other way, he loses the game.
- Eye on the bounty: Ba'Gamnan chooses a player, and that player's alliance will be revealed to him, be it Resistance, Imperial, Undying, Kiltias or Other. - Aim for the throat: Ba'Gamnan chooses a player, and that Player will die a horrible death. This ability can be used only once. - Fake Hunt: Once during the game, Ba'Gamnan can redirect all night actions onto himself, regardless of what they are.
Also, most of everything else I was wanting to nominate for has already been done, so I'll just nominate Dax for Biggest Derp in Dimensions, because publicly claiming Doc in a game without a Doc is pretty pro.
Nominations are now closed. Polls will be going up shortly, and you guys will have a week to vote.Polls are up now. Go to the first page of this topic to vote.
I might have fallen asleep while doing this w h o o p s .
BUT ANYWAY. TIME TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS!
Best Overall Player
Aviana!
Shadow: There are very few players that can tip the scales of a game quite like her. I have yet to see a mafia who doesnt look at her for an N1 kill, or village PR that doesn't do the same.
Best Village Player
bloodrayne03!
This guy knows how to get a village in working order. There's a reason mafia guns at him first if they can, after all, so nice work earning that reputation.
Best Mafia Player
Zaazaa0!
Zaazaa is pretty crafty, which I guess is obvious if you note his blog o' puzzles. That's a dangerous trait when put in the mafia, as crafty people make crafty schemes, so good job being the most dangerous.
Best Other Player
Aviana!
Shadow: Again, her skill shines through when she plays unusual roles outside the standard paradigm. Few people can do as well as her.
Wildcard Player
LetterSequence!
See, you think you've got him figured out, then he busts out a Navy Seal copypasta (or whatever that is), then he stabs you. Or hangs you. Or something. Gotta keep an eye out for that one.
...upon inspection this is his second year winning. Nice keeping your title?
West Turtle
DannyTurtle!
I don't think I even need to explain this one, though it would have been nice to get a cowboy turtle from Danny for the picture.
Best New Player
Nobody!
...the player. Who didn't even leave the numbers on his name as a courtesy. Hrmph. Anyway, he's quickly shown himself to be sensible, eager to learn, and willing to play hard. It's great to have you on board!
Best Host
Zaazaa0!
The second-best use for all that craftiness: Making nifty set-ups. Way to keep things interesting.
Best Flavour
What's On Your Mind? (by the players)
The flavour for this game ended up being contributed by the players due to the setup, and it was silly and also fun to see how everyone saw themselves and each other.
Most Innovative Role
Viral!
Shadow: It is rare that a single role, especially a third party, can change the entire dynamic of a game. This is one of those roles.
Best Game
Deadpool!
Hilarious flavour while it lasted combined with a really tense game that went down to the wire. Well done, everyone.
Most Confusing Name
Nobody!
THE PLAYER. AGAIN. I THINK THAT KIND OF EXPLAINS IT ON ITS OWN TO BE HONEST.
Best Village Win
Ilvocare in BftP: Zephyrism!
One of the ONLY two unanimous nominations, which tells you something right there about how crushing a victory this was. Seriously the lynches were on point, it was completely ridiculous. I still owe a flavour for that. It's high on my priority list, I promise. ;-;
Best Mafia Win
LetterSequence in Shots Fired!
So, some mafia wins, it's hard to determine who to nominate for the win, since the whole team chipped in. This time? Hahaha. Letter went and took the game, pried it apart, figured out the secrets, and slung the game on his shoulder to victory. Speaking as a member of that mafia, I would have been lost the entire time if not for his efforts, so it's no wonder village didn't stand a chance. Nice work.
Best Other Win
PSN Strykr in Sonic vs. The Big Bang Theory!
CULT CULT CULT
Biggest Derp
Rueblie in Get Creative!
Actually, what I thought was funnier than the mistake itself was the immediately asking oh. Can I take that back? Oh well, live and learn and all that.
Biggest Upset
Shockmuffin in Wreck-It Ralph!
Seriously, reread that game. Village looked SO completely screwed. Then Ralph (Shock) wrecked everyone to victory. It was beautiful. Unless you were mafia, but who cares about those losers? ...oh wait I think I was village that game. I take it back.
Most Original Game
We have a tie!
Winner #1
Super High School Level Mafia!
A lot of effort went into making these setups, and that did not go unappreciated. The intricacy of the setup always kept people on their toes with who to trust and who not to trust. As intended.
Winner #2
Charades!
This was a fun interesting idea that made it tricky to talk. But then again, that was the whole point, wasn't it?
Most Policy Lynched
SnakeWrangler!

May 17 2014, 05:49 AM
Snake is always maf
How the fuck does this keep being a correct basis for a lynch.
Aaaaaand that's it for 2014! Congratulations to the winners, and we'll see you again next time!
Ba dum da duuuuuuum Scummies time! We'll be working on a tally for games from 2015 and 2016, the period of time to use for this year's Scummies, but in the meantime we'll accept any nominations that you have just going off of memory! Categories and rules below. Please ask if there are questions!

Now, here's where you come in! This week, we (the admin team) will be accepting your nominations for who should win these categories. We'll also be taking suggestions for more categories if you feel we've missed something! I specify Shadow, Blood, Snow and I because while obviously you can nominate on the thread, and you're in fact encouraged to, we'll understand if you'd rather make your nomination anonymous and you can PM either one of us with your nomination.
After that, we'll put up some polls with who our top nominees were, and you will be allowed to vote on those nominees. Whoever has the most votes after a week will be the winner! Simple? Simple.
A few last things before we get going...
1) Please only nominate one player or host or whatever per category! Remember, you're only bringing up the best! 2) NO SELF-NOMINATIONS. I trust most of you wouldn't anyway, but just to avoid things getting sticky. 3) I think it would probably be best if people can't ask for nominations. They can suggest that in silly ways if they feel like, I guess, but if I hear about harassment for nominations the harasser will be immediately disqualified and receive a warning.
Best New Player: Doesnt Best Host: Talon only hosted one game but he was pretty good Best Game: Steven Universe Mafia Biggest Other Win: Letter in New Year's Party Biggest Derp: Shark in Яeverse Mafia
Couple of notes - first, if there are no nominations for a category, we'll just drop the category for the year. There were something like 31 games for this competition and not all of them are going to be nominate-able. Two, nominations will close Christmas morning, and any categories with multiple nominations will have polls opened.
Best Overall Player: Blood had most wins and a pretty high win percentage for the number of games he played, and only a handful of those wins were as villager, so him I guess Best Village Player: This one is harder to tell by stats because if you win as village theres a high chance you were a villager who didn't actually do anything but of the players with a lot of village wins I guess Porygon comes to mind Best Mafia Player: Letter had the most mafia wins so I guess Letter?? He's also pretty good as mafia in my experience working with him so it makes sense Best Other Player: Serra has a 50% winrate despite all of his wins being third party wins so im gonna pick Serra
Now that Welcome Game 8 has ended, I'm nominating JaneWolf for Best New Player due to her innate scumhunting skills and her ability to tell when a situation seems out of the ordinary.
