Life is always a gamble in Cowboy Bebop. This world has its own mechanisms valuing only one thing: Wu Long. The universe will run the hill for its key opportunities. In the vast Cowboy Bebop RP world, people die all the time because of the nature of the Wu Long. When you choose to Role Play battle, there's a simple method to follow. Up in the BBCode section on top of your posting/editing box, there's a button named "Roll". Click it and a page will open. Then type: 1d20. This pretty much states that you are rolling a 20-sided die once. Moderators and Administrators will normally check on your post, so it's wise to never edit cause it will change your roll, and never use another formula cause we can see if you didn't use what was required. If we see that you've edited or used a different roll from the required 1d20, you won't be banned unless you spam it, but your character will attain 2 critical hits (read below *evil laughter*) When it comes to combat, the winner wins by luck. This equals the playing field for everyone, and doesn't allow one man to be stronger than the other, no matter how many times he role plays. So there's no Strength, Speed, or Stamina! No Stats whatsoever! The only power is the money they gather and spend. To determine from a 20-sided dice, know that fatal/critical hits are: 1 and 20. Small bruises or Moderate-damage are 2,3,4,5,6 And misses are 7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19 And this is only for the offender to post at the bottom of her or his post. That way, the receiver can role play what damage he or she must endure, or how she or him tends to dodge the attack (if it's green, this means you're allowed to jump behind a crate or use that skinny rail beside you to take all the bullet damages like in the movies). There's no godmodding or metagaming if the official roll is the official outcome. You can even flip and dodge all the bullets if all the shooters shots are green. When it comes to non-plot NPC shootings, they have a very small chance of success in their hits: 2 (critical), 12,13,14 (Moderate), everything else is a miss. Same dice rolling method of 1d20. Plot NPCs instead roll like registered RPCs. And when it comes to non-plot NPCs, you can shoot them with one shot and they will fall (since there will be times when they come in numbers). This means that when it comes to these NPC, you don't have to roll the dice. Criminal NPCs during a hunt are still considered plot NPC. Each Role Player Character can live to receive only 2 critical hits. But the offender must be extremely lucky to make it instantly from 1 shot each. This method has a ratio of 20 to 1 chances. But purchased weapons can change the outcome by slight margins. And a Role Player can shoot two weapons (maximum) once per post. And yes, I'm allowing two bazooka-shots...that's if you can purchase two! When it comes to Moderate, in order for them to accumulate into 1 critical hit, the target must have experienced 5 Moderate in that single thread. This makes it so that it is realistic to take so much and then start to feel half of their energy being taken away all of a sudden. It's also important to post in spoiler the weapon's description at the bottom of the post. This way the role player can see what are it's added moderate and critical numbers. And that's pretty much it. Roll the dice and count from 1 to 20. |
