Roleplayer: Justice Literacy: Lazy Literate - Advanced Literate Warning: I am a female playing a male. Name: Niigata Joudan Alias: Joudan Age: Twenty Gender: Male. Alignment: Undoubtedly Evil. Kin: Parents Deceased, one brother living. Niigata Megurushi. Status: Single Sexuality: A-Sexual, though partial to human bodies. Loyalty: Himself Occupation: Leader of a group of bandits. Height: Five-Five Weight: One hundred and twelve pounds. Likes: Big Bangs and short gasps. Dislikes: Quiet and solitary confinement. Personality: • Two Faced • Amiable • Dependent • Estranged • Pessimistic • "I'm me, I'll always be me. But I can also be you, and you, and even him. Or am I never myself?" Joudan is never quite sure of what he is doing. When one speaks to him he takes quite a while to reply and his eyes almost glaze over. He has the tendency to go off topic when this happens, ranting about anything that he might relate back to the topic. Of course all of this is said with a warm smile. All around no one quite sees past this kind look and his sweet sounding voice. They see a man who is simply contented with everything around him when in truth it is quite the opposite. He never seems happy with what is going on, a true perfectionist at heart. However no one sees this other side of him. He does well to keep a strict control on his negative emotions. What he might say to one he would quickly deny to another. There isn't a moment when a sort of word vomit is spilling from his lips. Most statements means nothing, not even to himself. It is this multi-dimensioned personality that keeps most guessing about him. It is very hard to follow his train of thought as well as what he might be trying to tell you. There is almost never a moment when he isn't appealing to what one wants to hear. "I think myself fairly friendly. At least I befriended myself in no time." A social chameleon by nature it has been found almost impossible to hate this man. He appeals to what people strive for and always goes for what they would like better. He therefore easily blends in and can serve for quite the mole. He moves through social gatherings making more friends then anything else. Most find his company simply delightful with the throwing of jokes and the simple, good natured conversations he is known for having. Most would describe him as the life of a party and the best friend a man or woman can have. Others who have crossed his path will not stop short of telling you he will take everything from you, even the clothing on your back. He has many friends, all of which he holds quite close to him. No matter what he feels for a man or woman he at first considered them his chance at gaining yet another alliance with someone that will help him in any way. He treats a friend, once gained, like a jewel and will appear to do almost anything for him. He will always be the first to share advice, not always asked for of course, and the last to spare his depressing points of views. It is an addiction to him, to keep people pleased with both him and in general. He prides himself on being nothing but the best of friends to any given person. "Oh I do hate all my friends, they have such terrible tastes. Without them, however, I would be a cold corpse on the street." This man is like a mirror of all the ones he knows. Without them he would be very alone indeed. Not only alone but also quite confused. It is hard for him to keep on his shoulders the mind of who he is in a sense. With people about him he makes himself to fit the mold of the person, thus interacting. Without a person to mirror his personality off of he is a muttering mess of looks and broken words. It is strange how his mind works but no other way would make him who he is, or how people see his time. One might ask, how can be control a group of bandits if he is so dependent on other's influences. With this key trait he can become quite clingy to people, depending on them almost instantly after meeting them. This is found to be another seemingly loveable trait about the man. He keeps someone he meets very close to him at almost all times. He is a sweet man about this business but not many find his real reason for wanting such a close relationship. Most just assume that he is a very caring person. In truth he uses people more as shields than anything else. He spends the majority of his time surrounded by people due to the fact that without them he will drive himself mad. He never quite wanted to lead anything but has been pushed to the front by the group because of his amazing ability to pull people together and gain their trust. He is the only, and perhaps most successful recruiter for his own gang. "I don't really care for anything, at least not much. I guess that includes life." There is no doubt that he is a little strange. That is where most stop their conclusions. He is very good at keeping his short comings to himself and letting them appear as nothing more then quirks. They see him for the facade he places before himself and not so much the problems he has to suffer each day. He is very touchy about questions that might relate back to his sanity. Things like, “Are you okay?” usually gains an irritated response from his fevered mind. Don't dare to dig any deeper though, otherwise you might find a sword in your belly. He isn't the kind of man you want to walk upon egg shells with. He would not hesitate to cut a man's head from his neck. No matter what he shows on the outside he always has a darker side at looking at things. He expects the worst from all situations as so not to be let down by any outcome he faces. This shows through most often with his relationships. Joudan is usually caught off guard when something like that lasts more then a week, rather then being surprised it lasts only a few days. This works well to keep any panic attacks he might suffer from to a minimum. It is one of his better ideas to say the very least. He does not expect any person to stay by his side very long, and thus does everything he can to push them far away from him. He is not willing to be anyone's knight in shinning armor. Habits: Keeping animals as pets and dropping people like hot coals. Inventory: Varies. Weaponry: Whatever he can pick up. He is particularly skilled with gun powders and small fireworks. Ability: Knowledge of Fireworks and gunpower use. Also has general knowledge of weaponry, no specialized area. Appearance: Laaaazzy Biography: Joudan was really born to a simple life. His father was a valiant samurai and his mother the adoring wife. They seemed to be the perfect feudal family. While his father was off as war his mother spend her timing teaching and raising her four children. What wasn’t so quaint about this perfect little family was their blood lines. Both of his parents shared the same surname, the same blood. Before his parents had entered their courtship and later marriage the two had been mere siblings, growing up together in a time of strife. Of course there was nothing wrong with their union and often they were praised for keeping to such simple ideals, but as we know not everything is as perfect as we pretend it to be. Three of their children died in the womb and the remaining four were all born with oddities. The eldest of the siblings were two females born with psychical oddities, one of which had been born blind and the other born with male genitalia but an other wise female body; they had thought she was a body until she reached the teen years and began to develop breasts. The middle child of the group, Niigata Megurushi, and Joudan were born with mental deformities. Megurushi suffered from seizures, brought on by stress, as well as a limited metal capacity. It seemed Joudan was their only hope at a normal child and thus, without a second thought, the youngest of all the children was named the heir to the small family property. Of course Joudan was in reality not spared from the same fate as his siblings, he just appeared to be a well mannered and normal child. The fact of the matter was that his mother just did not pay enough attention to the young Niigata. By age five he had taken to killing small animals. He did not mean to kill them, keep this in mind, but simply did not grasp the concept of death or even guilt. He sudden found himself killing more and more, starting with rodents and working his way up. His mother thought nothing of the numerous dead animals she found and thought more that a local feline had taken to killing them instead of her bouncing baby boy. It was more folly that led to Joudan’s upbringing than anything else. If his mother had paid a little closer attention to this child he might have cut many bad habits early, before they really posed any sort of a problem. Most of his childhood was spent like this though, avoiding the unknowing eye of his mother. Being the son of a samurai, as well as his father’s only heir, he was pushed into the job as soon as his father could send away for him. He was immediately sent away with all of the sons of the other samurai that served under the daimyo. Unfortunately for his father he did not realize that Joudan had little to no interest in any of the things a samurai held dear. His father had never been a highly rank warrior and had thus given nearly all of his money to put the poor boy to school. He didn’t quite know that Joudan would one night go missing, disappeared from his bed over night. The boy simply was not one for education of any sort, he had no interest in it. Though keep in mind this was not why he fled the teachings of the noble and good. He simply could not handle the idea of being there so long for something he found very repetitive. He was of marrying age by the time he escaped but that was of no matter to someone who was nearly caste-less. He instantly picked up a job in the neighboring town with a man who liked him for his smile. The man worked with fireworks, making them for all sorts of displays. He was an older gentleman who had come over from China several decades before to sell his work to people who were not nearly as familiar with the beautiful display. He had taken on a few apprentices, selective to whom he passed his trade on to. He decided Joudan was worthy after seeing his attention to detail and perfectionism in every little thing he did. He soon took the young teen under his wing, giving him a home and a profession. He didn’t complain that the boy didn’t want to talk about his history, or that he was a little too talkative about everything else in the world. But you see fireworks are a very delicate art, and a dangerous one. One day while working without Joudan there, seeing at the boy had taken to disappearing for days at a time to God knows where, he had not been nearly as careful as he should have been. No matter the reasons for the explosion, poor Joudan came back that day to find he was once again without a home. What was a strapping young man to do without a good source of income? Well he began what is known today as The Monomezurashii, loosely translated as ‘The Curious.’ |
