F keys

Although I am sure most of you use these, I thought some might not so just a quick guide on how to use them.

Introduction

Firstly F keys are f1, f2 etc are the keybinds for inventory, prayer, spell book etc.
Using these instead of clicking them means you can react quicker, for example using the special attack quickly to enable you to be faster than your opponent, or changing prayers when you are being attacked, teleporting quickly (if you want to stay in the fight longer you can quickly hit the f-key and teleport) this is a lot quicker than in the heat of the moment trying to click your spellbook and find the teleport icon.

They are all round a good idea if you are pking in my opinion and without them I would 100% be dying a lot more.

How to use them
If you use OS buddy then there is an option to use rs3 style fkeys (easier for people who have not used them before imo)

You can obviously try out which you prefer.

How to change the bindings for fkeys

Lastly you can remap the fkey themselves, what I have done for example (I have the razer naga) is remap the fkeys to buttons on my mouse - I find this a lot quicker but you can remap them to any keys like "E" or the arrow keys etc.

I do this via razer synapse which is really easy to do and takes 10 seconds.

If you do not have razer synapse you can download a program called "auto hotkeys"
this video explains how to use it better than I could:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izrX0pHO4B8

the basic idea is that you can swap in and out of the key maps e.g. if you bind w, a, s, d for the camera for example you can disbale the script to talk and then re-enable once you wish the keys to be remapped .

Thanks for reading!

I am not to familar with changing k-keys mapping as I have always used the normal f1-f2-f3 etc. I only discovered I could remap them recently and it has really made me PK a lot better.

Thanks :) I hope it is clear I wrote it kinda fast so sorry if some bits are unclear but the video I linked explains it well.

You can also search for general non related Runescape videos about how to use auto hotkeys and I am sure you can find a ton of guides for it !

Thanks!

I would highly recommend trying it out, it takes a bit of getting used to if you have never used them.

You could try out just using fkeys for inventory and mage spell book for example, when you are fast at switching it you could add more so start using prayer f key and the combat attack style one too :)

Im a brid, and use the hotkeys very frequently, but I never thought about changing them to my mouse! I really think that would be a game changer! I use 07 keys, and feel as if they are better than RS3's, but then again.. I have been using them for a long ass time lol. Other clan mates really need to start using F keys, they also need to get prayer up!! On p2p trips they will get banged out faster than they can say, "oh shit".

Yeah its personal preference, I just meant for people who are new to fkeys I feel rs3 are easier to learn but ofc its upto them :P

I have had them on my mouse for a month or so now and I find it really easy to switch and pray melee in time for when i get spec'd or when running away etc etc.

I originally was against making people get prayer but I changed my mind and level'd it. I feel its needed at this level as most people we meet will have multiple combat styles so without it we will just die too easy.
