Headmaster Wakahisa stepped aside to find his seat in the crowd, and Sumayya took her side of the arena. She slid her deck into her duel disk, and the disk snapped into place. Sumayya gave little impression on her face to Chayne. She seemed emotionless--not cold, more like she was quietly calculating and observant. "Sumayya Badr will be going first," the intercom announced. "BEGIN THE DUEL!" The crowd cheered as the entire stadium lit up and the duel information appeared on the scoreboard.
YGORP - Track 2: Battle Theme #1 (Sumayya's Theme) Sumayya and Chayne drew their five cards to start the duel. Beginning her turn, Sumayya drew a card, and she took a moment to examine her options. "I place two cards face-down," Sumayya finally said, placing two face-down cards in her Spell/Trap zone. Holograms of two giant face-down cards appeared on the arena. Interestingly, The accent in Sumayyya's voice made her sound similar to Sniper Wolf from the Metal Gear series. "I then activate Different-Dimension Capsule." A large, blue Ancient Egyptian-style coffin appeared near Sumayya, with a timer of 2 turns set on it. Sumayya removed a card from her deck, and placed it in the "Removed From Play" slot on her duel disk. "I end my turn."

Going second, Chayne drew his sixth card. Going over his hand, he then observed the field to decide his best way to play. Chayne then reached for a card among his opening hand and slid it into the Spell/Trap section of it his duel disk. "I activate the spell card, Giant Trunade! Returning all of your spells and traps to your hand." That also means, whatever she stored in the capsule, is removed from play, permanently. Chayne paused, briefly, to see if Sumayya had a response to his first play. Edited by Sovereign, 18/03/2014 - 02:49 pm.

NARRATOR The crowd let out an audible groan upon seeing the Giant Trunade card put into play, as Chayne's red disk beeped negatively at the card and lit a red light. A large "TIMEOUT" logo appeared on the scoreboard, and Headmaster Wakahisa stepped onto the arena, and pulled out the microphone from earlier. "Please give us a moment to review the situation," Wakahisa said, but the conclusion was clear to everyone. Wakahisa walked towards Chayne, but he was quickly over-taken by Crowler who somehow beat Wakahisa to Chayne. "Why do you have Giant Trunade in your deck?" Crowler whispered quickly, clearly trying not to burst in front of a whole crowd of students. Wakahisa made his way past Crowler to Chayne. "Chayne," Wakahisa said solemnly to the Obelisk Blue, "you know using a Banned card during an official duel automatically results in disqualification, right?" Chayne honestly had no clue, and even though he knew what was next the thought didn't seem to strike him as hard as it did the gasping audience. Looking directly at Sumayya with a feint smirk, Chayne responded to the headmaster. "Yes, I understand. I didn't realize that Giant Trunade was included in the most recent list. I must've missed it, and for that I apologize." Chayne said, turning his eyes to the Headmaster. An honest mistake, but more than a saving grace for Sumayya. But I do suppose she won't be too happy about her effortless victory, as much everyone else being disappointed in the lack of a show.... Oh well. Chayne thought to himself, as he began to glance around at the audience. And somehow managed to spot Shon's red jacket, in the mix of primary colors. He was taken back by Shon's incredibly stern and upset face. Shon shook his head, and left his seat. At that point, Chayne's demeanor shifted. He realized he let not only himself down, but a lot of new students, who came to learn, and this was no learning experience for anyone, but himself... how selfish. |

| Saranto's jaw dropped when he saw Chayne pull out Giant Trunade. Didn't he know that was banned? He turned to Jayden, shocked at such a dramatic event happening so early in the duel. "Isn't Giant Trunade banned? Did you have any idea that Chayne was running this in his deck‽" |

JAYDEN What the...fuck? Responding to Saranto, Jayden said, "No, no way in hell I knew." Jayden shook his head. How did Chayne put together a new deck and not check the newest banlist? Now he felt like he had to get on the arena to help Chayne against Crowler, who was surely pissed at the embarrassment, but he thought that'd make a scene, some random Blue coming out of nowhere onto the arena and telling Crowler off. Jayden almost chuckled at the absurdity of the thought now he worded it that way, but he still considered the idea. His friend was getting grilled out in the open like this in front of so many people. Is Chayne really going to start the year like this? NARRATOR Sumayya studied Chayne's face for a moment. Overhearing that Chayne would be disqualified, Sumayya then walked up to Headmaster Wakahisa. "Excuse me, Headmaster," Sumayya said, with no detectable emotion in her voice. Wakahisa turned to Sumayya. "Yes, Badr?" "I understand that the rules state that any use of a Banned card results in being disqualified from an official duel, but everyone here was looking forward to this duel. Why not have Chayne remove the Banned cards from his deck and have us continue the duel? This duel does not have to be an official one." Sumayya glanced towards Chayne for support. |

Taken by surprise, at Sumayya's conviction to get a duel started, Chayen was baffled, and utterly speechless. Thinking over the situations, Chayne looked over the audience, again. "It's up to them, Sumayya. If they want us to continue, then I will. The only problem is, removing this will set me back 1 card, making it an unofficial deck to use. I'd have to borrow a card from someone, temporarily to make this fair, and right, since you're willing to do the same." |

NARRATOR Headmaster Wakahisa considered the idea, and then spoke. "In that case, that's what we'll do. I'll let the duel go on with these conditions. Back to your places, the both of you." Sumayya nodded at Wakahisa, glanced at Chayne, and walked back to her side of the arena. Crowler looked like he didn't know what to think, or even say, and glared back at Chayne. "We're talking about this after the duel," Crowler said, and then walked off the arena. Using his microphone, Wakahisa acknowledged the crowd. "After further discussion," Wakahisa's voice thundered, "Chayne Weert will remove the offending cards, and the duel will continue unofficially; this duel will not count tow--" the rest of Wakahisa's sentence got drowned out by the abrupt, roaring cheer from the crowd; it was clear everyone came to watch a duel like this. Wakahisa stared for a moment, and just chuckled as he smiled to himself. After the cheers died down (mostly), Wakahisa then said, "Chayne will, however, need one volunteer to let him borrow a card so he's at least meeting the deck limit." JAYDEN Jayden was already thinking of jumping onto the arena, so he was ahead of anyone thinking of volunteering. He got up, and quickly walked onto the arena, saying "I'll give Chayne a card, sir!" Wakahisa was a bit surprised at the speed of the reaction, and chuckled. "Go for it," he said. Jayden walked up to Chayne, and gave him a quick casual salute. "Hey, man," Jayden said as he pulled out his deck. "Anything specific, or do you just want a filler card?" |

Chayne took a second to think about it, and simply told Jayden, "Anything that you'd like to see me use, in your honor, for helping me. I already appreciate the sentiment, so the least I could do is play whatever you hand me." Chayne managed to form a smile, after what seemed to be a never-ending day of the wrong emotions and events. It seemed like there was a silver lining in today, after all. |

After the crowd died down, and Jayden headed back to his seat, everything was quiet...until Kuro let out a loud yell. "AHAHAAHAA! WHAT A LOOSER! Playing a banned card like that? I knew you were out of the game for a while but not this much!" What once was a loud cheer for Chayne quickly turned into a crowed of laughter. "I hope what ever card Jayden gave you will save you. If you don't win this one, you'll never have the honor of dueling me!" Some of the obelisk blues around him sighed, pulled out their wallets, and gave other obelisk blues some money. The bet was that Kuro wouldn't act up at all and it seems like half of the group lost. Everyone was quiet again and eyes glued on the stage. They waited impatiently for the duel to begin again. May sat in the stadium with the rest of the students, eager to watch the ensuing duel. It wasn't every day they got to see two Obelisk Blues battle each other... let alone a promising, up-and-coming Blue versus a veteran of Crowler's teachings. She really wished that Sumayya would dress a little more lady-like, however. There were few enough female Obelisk Blues to begin with, and May felt like Sumayya's attire wasn't exactly the statement a high-ranking female player should make. May watched each turn with rapt attention, until... Chayne played a banned card. Subconsciously May hid her face in her hands. It was one of those moments that was so embarrassing, that May honestly felt sick and embarrassed for him. What a thing to have happen, with the entire Academy watching. "Oh God, what a loser..." May whispered quietly, more out of shock than anything else. Almost immediately after, some student a few seats away shouted, "AHAHAAHAA! WHAT A LOOSER! Playing a banned card like that? I knew you were out of the game for a while but not this much!" To which May hid her face even more. This was going to be a horrible start for Chayne, and something the other students probably wouldn't let go for the rest of the year. After some debate it seemed like the duel would continue, which meant at least the students would have something to watch. May sighed, focusing her attention once more on the match. Could she really learn anything from a match when one of the contestants failed to know all the rules? |

JAYDEN Jayden grimaced at Kuro acting up, and the few bits of laughter across the crowd. Jayden had the urge to flip the finger at Kuro, but he didn't want to make it worse. Instead, Jayden turned his back to Kuro, and nudged Chayne to do so, too. "Ignore him, man," Jayden said, clearly annoyed. After going through his deck, Jayden finally pulled out a card. "Can't go wrong with Barbaros," Jayden whispered to Chayne, just to make extra sure no one hears. "He should help you out nicely." |

| Jason sat there shocked as the banned card was played. He was really unaware of most dueling things such as what is banned and such. He heard a ton of laughter, and a few remarks regarding Chayne and his card incident. Jason knew what it was like to make mistakes so instead of laughing with the crowd he tried to come up with enough bravery to defend Chayne. Sadly, his well of bravery had run dry from gaining enough courage to talk to Kuro. He then glanced at Kuro, and began to wonder what had possibly gone wrong for him to start acting like this to begin with. Whatever it was Jason began to feel sorry for everybody for being immature enough to laugh at someones mistakes, and sorry for Chayne because he knew Chayne would have this thrown up in his face every time he turns around. Jason spotted a girl with her head in her hands. Jason's brain was running around with all of his thoughts just going in circles. So much had happened in just one day that his head began to hurt. He just put his head in his hands, and tried to forget everything that had happened. He wanted, more than anything to just lie down and sleep. |

Giving Kuro the evil eye, Chayne clenched his fist, then proceeded to take Jayden's directive and ignore him altogether. Why get upset about some baby that just threw cards at you, and is now in the stands watching you duel, and not the other way around? Chayne pondered for a split second, before snapping back to reality. "Thanks Jayden," Chayne stated, placing Barbaros into his deck, and shuffling it. "I'll be sure to make rise above this. Quickly, take your seat, bud. I can see people are growing a little restless." With that, Chayne quickly shuffled back to his place in the arena, and placed his now legal forty card deck, into his duel disk. Where it again, streamed a spectrum of colors in lights, that traced along the contours of the device. Chayne was ready this time. |

| Sora watched the events of the banned card incident unfold, as well as Kuro's outburst. He couldn't help but feel sorry for him until it dawned on him that we hadn't checked the newest banlist in a long while. He scrambled to get his tablet from his bag and let out a sign of relief when he realized his deck was perfectly fine. The start of his new journey was off to quite an interesting start here. He looked around the stands and saw people facepalming and handing money to each other. He hoped that things would continue to get interesting, as its been too long since he had been able to get out of his house. |
