Due to convenience reasons, SHS will no longer be operating on this site! We are now located on facebook and are using discord for the chat. For information, our discord chat is here: https://discord.gg/84ue8Vv. It has been a pleasure meeting and serving everyone on this website, but if we wish to move on, we must start fresh in a new location. I hope everyone understands and we hope to see new and old faces. With all that is said and done, SHS is officially up and running again and we had our first tournament on 2/24/2017!! As discussed, we can still hold the 10 year anniversary party. - Thanks for you understanding! With love, Pijy

I also learned about something that i forgot was mentioned there is "equipment" in this game where you can increase a characters damage/speed/knockback at the cost of other things. (and pretaining to the "if custom moves can be used online" these buffs can be used online (ive seen a video with an all damage/knockback gannon that ran so slow the dude chose to roll everywhere) so I assume custom movesets can also be used online.) and I am 100% against using these equipments in tournaments. changing a characters move to a specific move seems fine as long as that new specific move doesnt seem impratical, but customizing their strengths to a new number seems impractical when a bowser/ganon can be looking for the kill 20-30% before normal and you dont realize that youre actually going to die.

I completely agree with that. Equipment would certainly lead to completely overpowered combinations. Just imagine Sonic with a speed and power build.

Yeah, custom moves good, equipment bad. That's basically the gist of it.

After looking more into it, I am for the most vanilla version of the game as that's how I like to play games and how it should be played imo. Though I guess I am the minority in this decision, so I don't really know why I am posting this...

This why a testing period should happen, so that we all get a good idea of how it plays with or without the custom moves. I mean the first season could just be one to test out the rulesets.

I agree. We were actually talking about this in the mod meeting earlier, about a short "test season" where we try out the game and any other rulesets we may have in mind for the other games. We should probably try for that.

So are you guys gonna get on putting information for that up on the site? That way people can plan ahead? Plus what other rulesets are you guys looking at? I'd like to know so I can plan my time accordingly.

It's certain glitches that could be potentially damaging to a match? Known glitches should be discussed if they effect gameplay to the point that they can be taken advantage of?

I don't necessarily think having equipment on is more or less fair than using different moves since both characters will [likely] use equipment to benefit their own character to counter the other.
Also, equipment has its own drawbacks similar to moves. Especially since some equipment will give you like +7 attack but -10 defence and speed. That way we can have a completely OP character attackwise who moves and defends like ass. Same goes for Speed and Defence.
Although if youre smart, you can make all your stats go in your favor but even then its kinda minescule. For example, I have on my jigglypuff is +7 everything, which isn't a lot compared to the +37 defence I could have if I take off attack but if I do that then Ill be stuck with -11 attack.

SWF is currently having a massive discussion on what Sm4sh's ruleset should be, I say we go with whatever they decide since that will become standard.

Until that happens, I say the TO should run it however they want. There's no standard yet. I personally prefer 2 stocks 5 minutes, because characters seem to live longer in this game (generally) than brawl. Going up stocks is also easier than reducing them. Custom moves I am neutral about, willing to try one way or the other, but I would prefer none of the power up badges and stuff.

Just found another reason why to not add in custom moves. both of bowser's side b's add in a "wave dash" like ability that definitely provide an unfair advantage and a pretty wacky turnout. sorry about laziness but i dont want to format https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGZIa8ZfSlc#t=72

After seeing that evidence I am personally beginning to drift back over to the "against custom moves" side. I figured there would be OP moves and such but that is a bit to much. No Avatar
