Due to convenience reasons, SHS will no longer be operating on this site! We are now located on facebook and are using discord for the chat. Has anyone else noticed that the Iron Legion doesn't seem to really be evil or anything?

I mean, why is everyone always picking on them?

The dude clearly isn't a threat to anyone. He doesn't have any sea units at all so he can't destroy anything.

But noooo... those jerks that think they're so great, the Solar Empire... they ain't so great. They beat up their friendly neighbors. And then they smash their head while they're laying crippled on the ground.

Seriously, defending yourself is one thing, but as far as we know, the Iron Legion never even attacked or provoked anyone.

I'd like it if in BW3 that was one of the plot twists.

We explore further back in time to discover that really, the Solar Empire are the real bad guys. Thus the reason they use a super weapon on the helpless Iron Legion.

Of course, we all know Kaiser Vlad is evil. No questioning that. We've seen him kill and poison a lot of people. (Speaking of which... why isn't that one Solar Empire dude, Admiral Squeaky Annoying Voice... A-Quira, why isn't he in the final cut scene? Being dead didn't seem to keep Gorgi from being there...) He breaks his promises. But in the past it wasn't always that way...

Maybe the plot twist has something to do with Vlad's ancestry. He talks about Ferrok Lord as if he was his great grandpa or something. But that guy was clearly killed and somehow I doubt he had any children before dying.

So... maybe it turns out that the Solar Empire has a big civil war. Ultimately the evil people lose and they move onto the land that used to belong to the Iron Legion and becomes the Xylvanians. They refuse to be connected to the Solar Empire and so they insist that they're descendants of the Iron Legion. The Solar Empire doesn't want to be connected to the Xylvanians and so they go along with it. With time, everyone who knows the truth dies off.

Maybe part of the story has something to do with Vlad learning of his true ancestory?

...

Ultimate twist, it turns out Lei-Qa and Vlad are 2nd cousins!

1. their the freaking Iron Legion They don't need no pansy ass naval units!!!!!
2. They kinda are evil, forcing all inhabitants to either join the army, or work in nerocite mines their whole life, and they pretty much forcibly seiged nearly the entire planet like a fraking lightning storm
3. Ferrok isn't technically "dead" he possesed Ingrid in BW1 remember?
4. I like applesauce

But I hate the Sol's sue to their constant "nice country" crap

and for your twist, try not to go M. Night Shamalamalamalamllla on us ok?

Brandon,Jul 8 2008, 10:16 PM] 3. Ferrok isn't technically "dead" he possesed Ingrid in BW1 remember?

...

No, he's dead technically.

That's like saying Gorgi isn't dead because his ghost is in the game.

Dead just refers to your body. And being dead means you can't have children.

...

When did anyone ever say it was Farrok that gave Ingrid the twinkle in her eye? (god that joke is getting old.) Although I suppose she did shout out several times that it was the Iron Legion. Oh right, we're working on the assumption that they've been lied to about it.

...

Maybe those guys are really just Old Xylvanian troops?

Maybe being resurrected makes it so you're evil? (Don't bring up Gorgi, he's not resurrected.)

1: I would like to remind you all that the Iron Legion is basically a army battalion of Xylvania. yes, like the Big Red One is a battalion of America.

2: wait, so us being invaded by the Iron Legion counts as us picking on them?

3: ...it's a freaking part of a game. since there was gonna be no major naval battles in the IL campaign, Kuju didn't make any naval units for the Legion, along with no T-copters because...well, [random excuse]Helipads ain't really high-tech back then.[/random excuse]

4: Art, go watch the prologue.

5: Art, go watch the prologue.

6: don't we all?

7: and just HOW can Kuju explain that when they explained a lot in BW1 and BWii already!?

8: MASTER OF THE OBIVOUS

9: *refers to 1:* like I said, the Iron Legion was a part of Xylvania, or "Old Xylvania" back then. in Xylvania, Ferrok could had have a wife and children behind the scenes.

10: *cough* *refer to 9*

11: ....

12: I actully chuckled at this.

So you think the Iron Legion isn't actually the country?

...

They're more like the Navy SEALS or the SWAT?

...

I need to fix the BWii Risk map then because I depicted them as a separate continent from Xylvania.

I've drawn it, didn't like it, and thrown it away 3 times now.

Doing it a fourth time, and liking it quite a bit more. I've got 21 territories spread across 4 continents (Frontier and Tundra make a continent, Solar and Anglo makes a continent, Xylvania and Dune Sea make a continent, and that odd continent that doesn't appear in BWii but was on the edge of the BW map is also there... because I figured 3 continents and 17 territories weren't enough.)

This is like saying that Germany's offense in WWII was not immoral. THE IRON LEGION INVADED OTHER COUNTRIES, TOOK ALL OF THE OTHER COUNTRIES' RESOURCES, AND LEFT THE PEOPLE TO DIE. How you can even start to think that "The Iron Legion" meant absolutely no harm by invading other countries, killing their innocents, and trying to turn the world into a wasteland is completely absurd.

You're just inferring what the Solar Empire wants you to infer.

Where in the game does it every actually talk about the Iron Legion doing anything of the sort?

As far as I can tell they pump their resources out of their own land themselves. The game never shows them looting any other country. It never even shows them leaving their own country.

The game creators will decide weather or not the Solar Empire is evil. Not you.

Hmm, If I recall, throughout the whole entire game they spoke of how the legion conquered more than half of the world. And I am quite sure that the legion would not treat their captives with respect.

Online Iron Legion...

let's see... levels with them...

Well, there's Melee... which takes place in Xylvania.

And then there's that one Island level... which... takes place on Solar Empire.

...

I declare the online levels to be out of canon and not an actual part of the fictional world of Battalion Wars!

Is that up to you? Or would it be up to the creator's of the game?

I think we all know who just won this argument.

Seriously, half of the things you said are completely false.
