How do you guys feel about an MMOPRG Pokemon? What loopholes need to get eliminated? How would you work the Legendary Pokemon? (When it comes to catching them) How would you want to start the game off? Me...I would play an MMORPG Pokemon like there's no tommorow. I would get rid of any item copy glitches,or anything else that would give a certain player some mega god-like advantage. I would make the Legendary Pokemon show up on once every month so that there won't be Legendaries floating everywhere. For the pokemon like Mewtwo, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Arseus, and the others, I would make them show up on a certain day once every like six months, to keep them at a certain level of usage, so that they are not broken. In the beginning of the game I think a person should get to choose before the game even starts, a pokemon that they want to start with and raise throughout the game. I hate starting with the main three opening types of grass, fire, and water. That sucks IMO, and so you should be aloud to start with a pokemon of your choice. I need opinions on what you think about it, if you are a pokemon fan. Eevee evolving into Umbreon FTW!!! |

MMORPGs are series-enders. It would never happen to Pokémon, as much as I would like it to. You could choose to start in the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh region. You get to choose from your respective region's starters or choose from five randomly chosen low-level Pokémon. Pokemon that are stronger or with more evolution options (like Eevee) would be rarer. Legendaries appearing would be worldwide events and one (count em, one) legendary of each type could only ever be present on one server. You would NOT see three different Azelfs or Celebis on one server. On top of that, legendaries would be painfully hard to catch and even harder to control. They often ignore orders, but are incredibly powerful when they follow orders. It would often take a few people from a society (like a guild or a clan) to control one legendary. If the trainer ever totally lost control of a legendary, it would break free and roam the land, but the trainer would be compensated for their loss in some way. Also, Espeon > Umbreon. |

There have been several attempts by fans to do this, and i've seen all of them fall apart, i think the closest that someone ever came was pokemon online (pol) [dohtml]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tbwpH8ROC0c&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tbwpH8ROC0c&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/dohtml] |

If so, then I can't wait to play the next generation of pokemon. It always seems to draw me back. I try quitting and then, boom another one comes out, and I have to play it. It's sad how many knockoffs are trying their hardest to make an MMORPG. They should just ban together and send in a bunch of requests to Gamefreak.(I think that's it, I'm not sure, so don't punch me.) If these ripoffs did this then, I think an MMORPG would be on its way soon enough. And come on... Are you serious? We're gonna leave the weaknesses out of the equation, as I assume you've done, by stating that. It would really depend on the moveset and the amount of EV training done, and their individual stats. Attack Idk Defense Umbreon>Espeon Special Attack Espeon>Umbreon Special Defense Umbreon>Espeon Speed Espeon>Umbreon All in all, Umbreon is a defense guru, and Espeon would need some serious power to knock him out, that isn't psychic. A hyper beam or something along those lines. Umbreon could just knick and pick at Espeon with Last Resort. |

As Matt said:
Plus it's a bad idea. THERE'S NO STORY. It's just the same ol' script in a world-wide scale. If I were to control Nintendo, I would keep the Pokédex...but I'll take out the Gyms and add A LOT OF STORY IN. Pokémon has potential for a great story, but the spawns of hell named 4Kids keep f***ing them up. So, no. Pokemon MMORPGS will never work.
Though I have Espeon in my Pokémon party, I can say every Pokémon have their pros and cons. Umbreon can pwn Espeon with some Dark moves and its increased Dark power, but...with the right moves, Espeon CAN win. Plus if it was a double battle, and Espeon (who knows the 60-power Dark move Bite to take out any Psychic types) was paired with a Fighting-Type with some kick-ass Fighting moves, Umbreon would lose. But meh, who knows? With the thousands of trainers out there, each with their own strategy…In some cases, Espeon rules, and in others, Umbreon pwns. |
The whimsical top hat counters my bad luck.

I don't know JJ. The script has sold millions, so why change it? If they did that on an MMORPG scale, they should make people pay for the game(duh), and sell even more. Pokemon has the potential to rule the world, but now that I think about it, they should give a few more generations to come out, and then go MMORPG scale on us. That would bring people flocking in by the thousands. I'm gonna be blunt, Umbreon owns Espeon, just because of how limited Espeon would be in a 1v1, but in 2v2 it only has a chance with it's partner, but then don't forget that Umbreon can learn Psychic, to fend off Fighting types. My Umbreon would be paired up with a Ninjask(These are my favorite two pokemon in the game, and my Ninjask almost took out one of my friends' Rayquazas.). I'd like to see an Espeon and his partner(non-legendary, legendaries are so damn broken) beat that. |

| The way I see it, they keep basing pokemon regions on different regions of japan, so its only natural that they will cover the entire area of japan before they even attempt an mmorpg, which means you still probably have at least another 3 generations, maybe more depending on how big/small they make each one. Also I agree that the story could do with some changing, however i think things like gyms need to be kept since they're a core element, but maybe tone down the emphasis on them. Also if they were to make a pokemon mmo, i think the best thing they can do is to have a complete abscence of a story, and just to have the gyms and the goal of becoming a pokemon master, and then buff up the community aspect like having a friends and rivals lists, so that people develop their own allies and have their own goals. |

| Yeah, I think so, too. And if they're covering Japanese regions, then the count should end up at like 700 to 800 pokemon total. I can't wait to see all of this come around. I think they should just make it like the show, if they do an MMO. Ash walked around battled gym leaders, got side missions from random people, saw legendary pokemon every 25 episodes(not literally), and participated in side tournaments and leagues, that they should also host if they do this. |

I've been thinking about this for a while now. This may not appear structured because it all just came pouring out of my head.
:P I would like to see a Pokémon game in 3D that is pretty much the same as the ones on the hand-held consoles, but better. So, all the graphics for all the Pokémon and scenery are very nicely done, the Pokémon actually make the sounds they do in the animé as oppose to the noises they make on the games, and you can actually see the wild Pokémon in the grass rather than wander about for a while waiting for one to magically appear in you face. Also they should add a system similar to (only game I can think of) Final Fantasy VII, wherein if you dawdle while deciding how to attack, the enemy will just keep hitting you or run (or w/e). All the battles should be more dynamic, so Pokémon have to actually attempt to dodge, and a critical hit would be the result of a very poor dodge. I think this should work with training making your Pokémon more agile, so able to dodge faster and such. Training to attack faster would mean less time for opponent to dodge, and there should also be anticipation on the part of the trainer during battles, so they can tell the pokémon to aim at a certain point if they think that the opponent will dodge, or vice versa (dodge the other way if the opponent aims at a certain point). And then there would be the personalities, for example, bad tempered Pokémon would be slightly stronger but less accurate in battle, and may not obey orders if they are in a rage. You can earn money doing tasks for people, for example, someone is complaining about a load of ground Pokémon digging up their vegetable patch, and you go in and get rid of them and the person gives you some money. There would still be winnings from beating people in battles. You would see more people with their Pokémon and they would have more interesting things to say (the dialogue in some of the games was a little odd). Er... there's blatantly a load of stuff I haven't covered, but I just ran out of steam so I'm gonna leave it there and let your imaginations wander. :P |

| And to think I sat here and summed all that up, while I was reading it. It sounds structured and nice for something that just got thrown out of your head, but being able to see the pokemon in the wild would take a lot of power. |
