Due to convenience reasons, SHS will no longer be operating on this site! We are now located on facebook and are using discord for the chat. For information, our discord chat is here: https://discord.gg/84ue8Vv. It has been a pleasure meeting and serving everyone on this website, but if we wish to move on, we must start fresh in a new location. I hope everyone understands and we hope to see new and old faces. With all that is said and done, SHS is officially up and running again and we had our first tournament on 2/24/2017!! As discussed, we can still hold the 10 year anniversary party. - Thanks for you understanding! With love, Pijy

You need a well balanced team to begin with. Something that can cover options just in case your opponent has something to counter your sweeper you should build a team not based off a moveset, but off what each individual pokemon is capable of.

Edit: Okay so since Shiro thinks I'm good cause I got second at my first tourney I'll breakdown what my team does pokemon by Pokemon.

Edit the Edit : Nvermind no one will read it anyway.

There are 2 types of teams that u can build. One is strategic, and the other is type coverage. If u can merge those 2, then you'll win for sure.

these 3 pokemon work in harmony type wise.
-Houndoom
-slowbro/slowking
-Breloom.

these 3 pokemon work well strategy wise.
-Bronzong
-arcanine
-venusaur/roserade

The thing to remember is that their is no one perfect team out their. Every battle comes down to the basics: strategy, good breeding, and type coverage.

When building a team you need to focus on strategy. A lot of good battlers build solid teams around two sweeping pokemon.

competitive battling depends on the concept of "Makin' babies."

Yeah in my experience the only absolutely unbeatable team is the one that isn't legitimate at all...

But excluding that, the battles all come down to stragety
