Due to convenience reasons, SHS will no longer be operating on this site! We are now located on facebook and are using discord for the chat. For information, our discord chat is here: https://discord.gg/84ue8Vv. It has been a pleasure meeting and serving everyone on this website, but if we wish to move on, we must start fresh in a new location. I hope everyone understands and we hope to see new and old faces. With all that is said and done, SHS is officially up and running again and we had our first tournament on 2/24/2017!! As discussed, we can still hold the 10 year anniversary party. - Thanks for you understanding! With love, Pijy

In 1942, the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, of which Band of Brothers's Easy Company was a company of, was formed as an experimental Airborne Regiment.

Through their training, and that they all trained at one camp, they begun to develop a certain style of teamwork.

For example, during operations, when they set up camp, some soldiers would go off on patrol, some other soldiers would begin to dig trenches and foxholes, and so on.

What's the difference between them and other soldiers? They did what I just described above...without any orders. No hint of "we should do a patrol" from others; they thought ahead and planned ahead. They knew their roles already, and they set out. They worked as a team; they thought as one.

And that's what we should be doing: Working as a solid team.

Now, I'm not saying we should think as one in order to be a perfect team; that kind of thing requires months, even years, of real, brutal training. What I'm saying is, considering each of our talents and abilities, we should know what our roles in battle should be, and what the other may try to do, and how we can help.

We should talk about what our usual strategies are, how we can function as a team, and train together often. It would also help if we had a way of verbally communicating during combat, such as Wii Speak. It would help greatly when we need to improvise, though there may be problems, as I'm deaf.

So what do you do? I'm the stormtrooper type; meaning, I pack a P90 with extra ammo and extra power, and go around the map and try to rack up kills. However, my strategy would have to change a little to function with the role of working as a team with the other players. For example, if I'm chosen to be the leader of the team, I may consider using the Overkill perk; I read, on a CoD4 site, about how it would be beneficial for a squad leader to have the weapons to be able to adapt.

well, Im the overwatch type, I use use heavy machine guns or the m16 and keep the fire down on the enemy always.I keep a eye out on the enemy and keep my area protected for a good old camp.

Im a serious frag/c4/claymore type user too, I like to set traps. but Im a jugger too! getting the enemy on me so you can flank them. I can defend and attack at the same time! I use 3x perk and and blast through the battlefield with my heavy weapon. just leave me with a heavy machine gun, some frags and Im good.

Ok so i'm also sort of a stormtrooper. I carry a AK-74 and sometimes a MP5 when i'm in the mood. I use the extra ammo perk.(Forgot the name)I can play defensively also I love to throw cooked grenades, which is a good defensive tactic. Also stun grenades are best IMO for they don't affect the user but greatly affect the opponent thus, making them a easy target.

For example domination matches i love to defend a flag, for if i'm setup right no one can get it. Team deathmatch i spawn cooked grenades at random and most of the time get a kill from it, and i sneak around just waiting for someone to pop-up. HQ, i rush up to the enemy to eliminate as quickly as possible so they won't win. So yeah i can do a lot of stff except snipe.

Everyone, post your usual classes so we can figure how to best deploy ourselves as a team.

My classes are:

P90 Stormtrooper
Main Weapon: P90, equipped with Red Dot Sight.
Secondary Weapon: Desert Eagle
One Frag Grenade
One Stun Grenade
(I use this solely to render claymores useless)
First Perk: Bandolier
Second Perk: Stopping Power
Third Perk: Steady Aim

RPD Gunner
Main Weapon: RPD, with Grip.
Secondary Weapon: Desert Eagle
One Frag Grenade
One Stun Grenade
(I use this solely to render claymores useless)
First Perk: N/A due to Grip
Second Perk: Stopping Power (may change to Double Tap)
Third Perk: Steady Aim

As you can see, like I said, I'm the stormtrooper type, but I can try out several other classes if the team tactics demand it.

What's with all of the RPD Gunners?! Daaaaaaaaaamn!

Okay, after talking with OSO, we decided that our team's classes and tactics should vary for each map.

A example of a team would be like this:

1 Leader that is adaptable (as in, he has the Overkill perk, and two preferred weapons that works well with the map)
1 LMG Gunner
2 SMG/AR Stormtroopers
1 Sniper

So, suggestions for what we should do on certain maps?

Also, we're likely to play Domination, TDM, and S&D the most.

Coming from playing cod4 on the 360, I found that, juggernaught and stopping power basically cancel each other out, statistically. Also the G36C with bandolier is a good long range AR. One final thing, the ACOG M240 sniper (the first sniper) is a one shot kill anywhere on the body. Hope this helps.

Okay, after talking with OSO, we decided that our team's classes and tactics should vary for each map.

I don't think that would be the most adaptable strategy you could come up with. I think the best was is for people to master two contrasting yet complimentary classes, that they can switch between when the game requires them to. Also in most competitive video gaming, 4 man teams look a bit like this:

Slayers x2
Objective Player
Wandering Player

Slayers are essentially killing machines, their job is to get the enemy right where you want them, and to pin them down, or clear them away from where their flag is.

Objective Players aren't necessarily that good at killing, but are good at completing the objectives. Essentially when the Slayers have cleared a path for you, and set up the map, you run in and grab the flag.

Wandering Players are probably the most crucial. In TDM you'll need more that 2 people who are excellent at killing, so the wandering player can become a 3rd slayer. In objective games, you may require two objective players to complete the objective, and the wandering player can fill that role. They should also be good at defence, to keep the enemy away from your own flag, in that role he is essentially a slayer and an objective player.

Hopefully I'm making a lot of sense here. The difference between video games and military tactics is that people can re-spawn, so the main objective is to control the map. You can't kill them all, so you need to get the enemy in a position where they can't do anything. Once that's happened you can wander through the map freely doing what you please, racking up the kills, grabbing the flag whatever. Safe in the knowledge that the enemy can't really do anything about it.

Ah, that's pretty good. I believe it'd work better and make us more focused on our job, considering the fact that we're going to be operating in-field without any way of vocal communications. Thanks for the suggestion; we'll remember it.

Guys, if we do this suggestion, the team should look like this (I plan on it being a five-man team):

2 Slayers
2 Objective Players
1 Wandering Player

I'll like to know what role you would serve best (in the case of ours accepting the suggestion). I'd likely serve best as a Slayer, though I can play as a Wandering Player in some cases.

Objective Player #1: OSO
