The above Q&A has been taken from the Q&A topic over at the official Activision forums for Black Ops on the Wii. Now, as we all know, Nintendo has no downloadable content or patches available on its Wi-Fi channels. This shows that Nintendo is possibly going to add such things now to their gaming policy. So, what are your thoughts on possible DLC and patches for any Wii games, if this happens? What I think is... Call of Duty 5: World At War I bloody well think this game is in need of several patches, feature-wise. After all, WaW for the Wii is majorly downgraded compared to the other versions on the Xbox 360 and PS3. The reason why is because Treyarch focused the bulk of their time working on getting the MW engine to work on the Wii (which is why IW originally didn't release MW on the Wii on the original release date: the engine didn't work on the Wii), and wasn't able to get other stuff in. Look what's missing from the Wii verision...
I'd REALLY like DLC that adds most, if not all, of the things listed above to the game. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare: Reflex I'm sure I know what you're thinking: "What would THIS need? It's a complete port..." Ah, but you forget one thing, comrade! It's a complete port, yes, but of the original edition, NOT the Game Of The Year edition, which came with several new maps (correct me if I'm wrong). I'd like a patch that adds the following maps (names are links) to MWR: That's all I can think up from the top of my head. What Wii games do you guys think are in need of DLC and/or patches? I would hate DLC for brawl- It would stop people getting excited over a sequel and it would stop the point of learning matchups since more and more are just coming out, not to mention it'll only make it harder for newcomers to join the scene, they already have enough trouble choosing their mains... |

| I think as far as DLC for brawl would be concerned, I think we need to turn to the hacker community for inspiration. They're essentially doing themselves what they feel brawl should have already done. So in terms of DLC, I wouldn't think we need new characters or such, but things like legitimately available skins, balancing out the characters just a little bit, offering the option to turn off stage effects, and so on. However I really think that we won't see any DLC for brawl, maybe not even for the sequel depending on how quickly Nintendo gets with the times. |

FUCK. YES. Pardon my French, but that'd be awesome! Granted, BWii isn't that active anymore online, but still, DLC would be great for BWii, or BW3 if it ever comes. I mean, more maps to play on, possibly more modes, and so on. Hell, perhaps more missions and a Map Editor. |

Lol true. Dest you're wrong. DLC for brawl wouldn't ruin the excitement for the new one. It'd leave a better expectation fpr the new one. |

I don't even play it anymore, and I don't talk about it 24/7, nub. Btw, wtf is a nubbles? Anyway, DLC is stupid in my mind, paying for like one set of costumes or some stupid add on. Unless the pack adds something that will keep me interested for a while, I won't buy it. The only game I have gotten DLC on that was worthwhile was Dragon Age, so DLC would be good for MHT and other games like it I guess. CoD only gives you a couple of new maps, woo. Nothing too interesting =/ |

and what happens when there is nothing else to add because everything has already been put in DLCs? Heck, if they did to DLCs, i'm pretty sure it would lower the chance of there ever being a sequel anyway. |

| There are plenty of games with DLC and patches that have sequels. It's no a new concept by any stretch of the imagination, it's just that Nintendo seem like one of the last people to catch up. I'm not sure for certain, but I think the wii may already have DLC, in the form of the guitar hero music store (not certain), and most definitely in the ability to download special event pokemon. |
