Due to convenience reasons, SHS will no longer be operating on this site! We are now located on facebook and are using discord for the chat. For information, our discord chat is here: https://discord.gg/84ue8Vv. It has been a pleasure meeting and serving everyone on this website, but if we wish to move on, we must start fresh in a new location. I hope everyone understands and we hope to see new and old faces. With all that is said and done, SHS is officially up and running again and we had our first tournament on 2/24/2017!! As discussed, we can still hold the 10 year anniversary party. - Thanks for you understanding! With love, Pijy

Why is it that almost every anime I watch, the parent is dead or has neglected their child in some way. You hardly ever see any adults.

Well, to speak from experience as a writer, I found that it's often tough to find a good place for the parents as important characters in stories where the protagonists are teenagers or children, mainly because sometimes they just simply don't fit in the atmosphere of the story. Due to that, it's only when the parents are vital to the storyline, or the development of specific characters, that I try to work on molding them into the story; otherwise, I'd just leave them as side characters, or leave them out entirely if they're not needed.

Of course, though, I don't watch anime, so that's all I can say.

Along with that. Most people have some kind of family related problem they have to face everyday. It's extremely easy to relate tbh.

unless its a comedy anime (which some still do) you either see the parents, or get a reason why their parents dont exist.

Indie is pretty knowledgeable for someone who doesnt like anime.

But yeah, its about a guy that has to be a father to his now dead grandfather's illegitimate daughter (which would make her his... half-aunt?)

I watch some, but don't like most. Japanese can have the worst, or best storytelling. IMO.
