so this is were i will be keeping my journal of this game called pokemon topaz. it is based around my fav generation R/S/E and i am going allmost completly blind into this, BACK STORY: i was looking for a good rom hack when i saw this beautiful little guy so i decided to look it up on youtube for the pokedex sure enough there it was and it only took me 3 pokemon in to say wow this is a pile of shit......im going to play this now i love playing bad rom hacks..that sounds weird but one of my fav bad rom hacks is pokemon quartz i mean its not that bad, it has some awesome features and all but lets get onto this first impressions: ok well lets start with what i first see. and that is the opening scene you know were the protagonist is riding his bike with all them pokemon. well the guy who made this said fuck that and put in a eel (i guess) with no eyes and insted of flygon he put in what looks like a cross between dusknoir and a the banchi from ghost-an-golbins then that epic battle comes at the start were sharpedo and duskull are thrown out alone with mudkip and torchic, well at leas the kept the same formual for this, but insted of that sharpedo there seems to be a weird looking fish thing (tbh im scared to call it a fish but w.e) and a what looks like grey pac-man ghost. a man in a blue jump suit with a hate appears (i fear thats going to be me) sends out a...dog with a tail on fire...how original...and a fish....that can stand...and looks like a totem pole THEN THE TITLE SCREEN and for a ledgendary on the front we have something that looks like, what i would make on spore on a bad day (if you are unfamiliar with my spore work look at myles profile he has 2 of my spore creatures one from when i started and one from about a year ago) so now im tired of listening to the title music so lets boot this dissipointment up as i said before the title screen isnt that great and, it just says "begin" and "settings" when you get past the title screen, so as any good pokemon play i clicked settings to move the text speed to fast THEN i clicked begin, i am greeted by a fadeing screen and a rather familiar man who says "welcom new recruit" this man is wear a good suit and a has what i hope is a flower in his jacket pocket OH ITS GIOVANNI, (took me all of 2 seconds to figure that out btw im not retarded) well anyways he says "welcome new recruit to the world of team rocket and pokemon my name is giovanni but you should call me boss this here is a pokemon *toss's out the ugliest fucking thing i have ever seen* pokemon are every were in the ..topaz region"..again how original "team rockets goal is to make a profit off of these pokemon and become rich, i want to sell these rare pokemon in the topaz region to become rich, and you are" btw i wont be doing this for everything just important stuff and shit i can make fun of it then gives me 2 sprites to choose from a male and female..blue jump suit...trainers....oh fuck me anyways i named my guy bill cause i can any ways as you have guess im playing as team rocket, i have t say the overworld sprite for the team rocket guy looks pretty good so tells me to meet him in his lab in shawford so i decid to show up in style..IN A FUCKING HELICOPTER (no clue how they fit all these boz's and a desk in a heli) so im greeted by a feild of..police officers, and my mom comes out of the house and tells me to quickly get in because thier looking for me......ARE THEY THAT DUMB THEY CANT SEE THE LANDING HELICOPTER ONE OF THEM IS 2 TILES AWAY o i take that back they did notice me...just not chase after me so we go into the house aaaaaaand there are police officers inside, who aparently dont know what i look like so i go up stiar to fix a clock while mommy gets rid of em i head up stairs to my room and i find a kitchen 4 beds a table so you know the normal, i set the clock to some time. when i do mom comes up and propmly says i got rid of em get down here i have a new LCD TV go downstairs and mom sends me off to get a mission from boss when i get out side everything is diffrent sprites are recolour'd and the entire lay out is changed, so im thinkings this might be fun i head into the other house and aparently this is boss's house, and i met my rivel.....and she swore at me.. she is also team rocket as you would have guessed and we are fighting over a promotion... gotta say rivel is a bitch.I LIKE IT ok so i head up like a sensible pokemon ruby expert and find that boss is being attacked by a rhino that was run over in the middle and looks like a weird tube???? he then tells me to reach into his sack........... and grab his......balls *sigh* so these are my options for starters, grass type: poloon the pollon pokemon looks like a completly green ladybug with a leaf on its back fire type:mutton the puppy pokemon looks like a dog with fire on its tail water type:tarkor the claw fish pokemon looks like a flying fish doing "cant touch this" pick for me ok we decided on fire i guess I SPIRAL HEAD FIRST INTO BATTLE WITH WEIRD TUBE RHINO THING, its name is bopitino, i hit fight and notice 2 things 1 the back sprite for my puppy pokemon is allmost non existent 2 there are new moves...oh god this is gonna be so much fu...oh never mind its one of thoughs roms were moves are changes slightly but have allmost the exact same name scrape=scratch so any ways i take out the tubey rhino really easily and i save the boss he then explains that the police sent this "metal bastard" after him and i kicked its ass and i get a reward ITS A PROMOTION and i follow him to his lab so now im on team rocket executive, and i get to keep mutton i named it ghali in honour of my charizard, also apparently boss wont let me leave until i say bye to my mom BUT THIS IS WERE I END FOR TODAY Edited by Nate.ExE, 08/02/2013 - 02:24 am.

I would choose the fire one, it won't be of much use against the 1st gym leader, but most of the rest of the game will be a breeze with it. P.S. Hopefully it doesn't evolve into a fire/fighting... Edited by Snievee, 08/02/2013 - 01:40 am.

updated and done for today tune in tomorrow for our journey into this horrid game booted it up again and this time i decided to check around a bit more, i have to say they did do a good job on covering everything..just the pokemon suck balls. and i decided that im going to catch my pokemon based on how they look and name. cause thats how much fun this is gonna be TIME TO GO DESTROY MY RIVAL so as i was walking up to my rival i found this ugly mother fucker of an eel (yes the one in the opening scene) i wrecked it with scrape and then i found a lizard (i think) doing a handstand i am definatly comeing back to catch this thing cause it looks honestly funny as hell ghali grew to level 6 ok this has been buggin me for a while....whya re all the sprites changed EXCEPT FOR THE OLD MEN, every one but them has like new clothes new hair...but nope so i went them into the pokcenter and nurse joy refused to heal my pokemon i then got an option to heal them by force...i started to die laughing so any way i got up to my rival who chose the fishing doing cant touch this, i shut her shit down and complelty obliterated her..damn straight  and then i leveld up and learned foucus power then we headed back to the boss who gave us the pokedex (wich he stole) and some pokebals (also stolen) then she trys to say that her balls are better cause their ultra i wasnt playing attention really, I THEN GOT SOME RUNNING SHOES FUCK YEAH, the tag says brendan...LOL OMFG I LOOK SO FUNNY WHEN I RUN LOLOLOLOLOL i caught kemecko that lizard thing, i named it donny well ima end it here for now i might play a little bit with out writing this all done a bit later Edited by Nate.ExE, 08/02/2013 - 04:47 pm.

The actual gameboy advance carts of these hacks are fairly cheap on eBay if you wanted to own a copy. Other then that, good luck on your let's play. |
