Due to convenience reasons, SHS will no longer be operating on this site! We are now located on facebook and are using discord for the chat. For information, our discord chat is here: https://discord.gg/84ue8Vv.
It has been a pleasure meeting and serving everyone on this website, but if we wish to move on, we must start fresh in a new location. I hope everyone understands and we hope to see new and old faces. With all that is said and done, SHS is officially up and running again and we had our first tournament on 2/24/2017!! As discussed, we can still hold the 10 year anniversary party. - Thanks for you understanding! With love, Pijy

![]() Welcome, everyone, to the beginning of the Seraphite tournament season! This one is looking to be awesome; what wonderful changes are in store? Read on! 1) Tourney Duels Our first tourney was extremely successful (12 players!) but it isn't always going to be such a large turnout. Sometimes, there'll be as few as two players, which is one below the three-players minimum. There's still two opposing players. Why let a tourney go to waste? It's with this in mind that we have devised the Duel ruleset, a special alternative where two players basically fight each in an epic duel to the death to determine the winner, with the winner going home with all the gold. Here are the specific rules for each game. Super Smash Bros Brawl: Best of 7. The same stage cannot be chosen twice. Mario Kart: Battle Mode. Get the number of points needed to win! Pokemon: 18-Pokemon deathmatch. Basically, in a series of battles, try to take your opponent's selection down from 18 to 0 before he does the same to you. The players can choose six Pokemon from their remaining selection for each battle. If necessary, the players can also agree on which tiers to use, though Uber is banned. And lastly, when you win a duel, you also win a special Rival Medal! 2) New Tournaments Chat Layout There is an upcoming change to the tournaments chat, which is an entirely revamped page layout designed to make your tournament experiences even better. Stay tuned for more details! 3) The New Squad Wars Grid Click on the spoiler! The New Wars Grid This is the new Squad Wars grid that we'll be using for the season, divided up into three parts, one for each of the main games. It's obviously still a prototype (text for tags, colored names instead of images, etc.), but once the new Leaderboard goes up, it'll be all nice and shiny. Unlike the previous grid, where you could only challenge a grid right next to your own grid, you can challenge for any grid on there any time. However, if you're eliminated from one of the main games' grids, you'll need to challenge for your original starting grid (i.e, Team Rocket needs to challenge for Grid CHARLIE if it gets eliminated from Brawl and wants to get back on there). And like before, a Squad can only accept challenges for two wars at any one time (one for attacking and one for defending), and when a challenge is made, it must be accepted, except in these cases: 1) Several members of the challenged Squad are currently occupied with real-life issues or online issues, and would not be able to attend the war. In other words, if it's far too inconvenient for the depending Squad, then the war cannot be accepted. If a defending Squad's reasoning is dubious, contact the administrators for judgment. 2) A reasonable time to wage the war cannot be successfully established, with good reason. Contact the administrators if such a scenario arises. 3) The challenging Squad has shown themselves to have a personal vendetta with the defending Squad or a specific member of that Squad, and that personal vendetta is the main reason behind the challenge being made. Wage war with sportsmanship, guys, or don't wage war at all! If a war is being denied by the defending Squad, and they have no good reasons other then those listed above, then they must either accept the war, or forfeit the tile to the challenging Squad. When it comes to the details of the war, you can be flexible, as long as you and the opposing Squad agree to the proposed rules, that those rules are fair and balanced, and that the rules are using these rulesets for each main game: SSBB: 3 v 3 Crews Style Pokemon: 3 v 3 Crews Style (Pokemon serve as stock) Mario Kart: 3 v 3 Team Points Hoarder (Like regular Points Hoarder, but team-oriented instead) Like with the Squad Supremacies of the past, it is up to the Squad to ensure that they organize well and get the necessary number of players to the event. Otherwise, they'll have to play with what they have, though a Squad can either delay a war for a hour or less within reason, or arrange with the opposing Squad to postpone the war, though an administrator can make a judgment call on what to do if one is at the scene. On the flip-side, though, if both Squads want to have a war bigger then 3 v 3 (like 5 v 5, or even 8 v 8, which'd be ridiculous) and they both feel that they are capable of pulling such an event off, they are more then free to do so! Otherwise, though, if one of the Squads do not agree to a limit increase, it should remain 3 v 3. And last, but not least, if a Squad succeeds in claiming all five grids for a main game, they lock down that game and win the title for it, meaning that if you were to get moving and take action, your Squad could potentially conquer, say, the Brawl grid, and keep it, within a month! 4) Prizes There's still plenty to earn this season, but now there's a huge prize in store for those willing to go all the way.
5) Final Words Who knows? Perhaps the great start is a sign of things to come, that this season may turn out to be an amazing one. We have five Squads willing to do something about winning, three of them being powerhouses, and it's summer, so it'll turn out great for sure at least. The thing is, perhaps it's fate that this season is the one named Seraphite. Some of you may have figured it out, but...look at the following words. Arctic Delta Sierra Topaz Amethyst Rainforest Opal Whiskey Sunstone Hotel These are all names for past tournament seasons and Squad Supremacies. Now, look what happens when I line them all up in the order that they happened in... Sunstone Hotel Arctic Delta Opal Whiskey Sierra Topaz Amethyst Rainforest Seraphite Let's end it all with a bang, eh? Good luck to everyone, and may the best Squad win! ~ SHS_JJEmpire and the Staff of the Shadow Stars P.S If you have any questions, feel free to post away, as I posted this at 2 in the morning and I may not be that clear on some things. |

Yeah, I'm thinking of just merging the 2010 and 2011 Tiki medals together into the same medals so we'd have more space. Plus, the fact that they're up for grabs during the summer only makes them special enough. And last season's medals will be added soon. I just need to get the designs set up. |
