I am a huge fan of CCS, but alas I'm not Japanese, nor have I ever been to Japan. Eventually I'll be able to afford a trip over there though. |

Not really. The reported crime rate is very low, but the Japanese will often not report minor crimes, preferring to take matters into their own hands. |

Everyone's racist in some manner. It's just the way the world is. But this has nothing to do with race. This is a cultural difference, rather than a physical one. Japan has a culture that is wildly different from our own and the way they behave is duly reflected. If you openly stare at a Japanese girl she'll get uncomfortable and leave, or at least avoid being in your line of sight. If you stare at an American girl she's likely to call the cops and file a sexual harassment charge. If you were to suddenly punch a Japanese man he'd likely fight back or quietly flee, while an American would threaten to sue you and make a fuss. To be perfectly honest I vastly prefer their method. |

But, as you just proved, America is immature as heck. American's (I am talking about myself here as well, so don't think I hate Americans or something) over exaggerate EVERYTHING!! Seriously, my brother was backing out, and some moron who doesn't know the rules of the road, just kept on going, when if something backs out, you stop. Anyways, she just kept going, and my brother accidentally hit her hubcap. Key word "hubcap". on the ticket, she made my brother pay a fee for personal injury, and several stupid things. People now days suck ass at driving, trust me, there is so many examples I have that it might take about 7 paragraphs. My brother has a motorcycle, and he almost lost his life about 4 times. And school systems are not teaching as well today. In my math class, my teacher tells us how to do something in as complicated a way as you would teach a college student, and gives us a shit ton of homework. And guess what, I waste a precious 47 minutes of homeroom in my math class getting basically tutored by my teacher. Having ad-d, math is a living hell for me. The only class I like is science. I am about 2 grades ahead in science knowledge, but I don't want to tell the teachers about my amazing love for astronomy, because by doing that, I am risking MORE homework. Well, I like history, but the section I'm in is just notes and preparation for the year. Oh damnit, this is the music thread... shit. I thought that this was the schools thread! But, all my writing here kinda goes to prove my point. And spar, I know you are urging to argue, so I will say this, anyone can say FRIENDLY responses. |

I wouldn't say Americans are immature because they have a raging hard on for the court systems, but it is certainly a significant difference in culture. As for the driving bit... I love driving, but I really wish people would learn the rules of the road before driving on it. I'm fairly certain that the driving test in Mass is that someone checks to see if the applicant has a pulse, takes their picture and prints them a license. The laws state fairly plainly that someone driving along on a primary road has the right of way over everything except emergency vehicles and pedestrians. If another vehicle were to back out onto the road in front of them the driver is not legally required to stop for them, but it would be safer and more courteous of the other driver to stop and let the person out. |

@driving part No shit. (I'm just kidding). But it is like the whole seat-belts thing. They are mandatory now, and so should the whole backing out thing. Shall we return to music? This should all belong in the school section, really. Edited by wat, Sep 13 2012, 02:07 AM.
