Pink Floyd always sounded different to me. I now see why. My dad is a huge fan of them.

Pink Floyd is one of the most experimental and influential bands in history. All forms of the electronica, metal, and alternative genres owe most of their existence to Pink Floyd.

Why does NOBODY talk about the beegees when I put a video up about them? Clearly, I must show this song...

The Bee Gees entire influence on the musical world can be summed up with "Stayin' Alive", which is possibly the most embarrassing thing to happen to disco since it's creation as a musical genre. In order for it to be entertaining you need to use Saturday Night Fever's cheesy dance moves in a brief and unexpected manner, and even then it's likely to be more facepalm worthy than entertaining.

Spar, I respect you as a person, but, what you just said killed me on the inside. The reason I like the beegees is because, well, almost everything nowadays is auto-tuned to make the singers sound good. The beegees have REAL talent. The crap that you listen to is awful anime stuff that is nothing compared to the old days. Ask ANY adult that you know, and I bet you most would say that 60's, 70's, and 80's music is the best. All that anime music must have brainwashed you. And, hey, I would like to see you up against Travolta in a dance contest! And, for your information, Bee gees have one of the highest ranks in musical history. Behind M.J, Elvis, The Beatles, and I think the Stones. Also, about there whole career revolving around staying alive, The bee gees started in 1958 when they were like 9 years old. So, they actually had many song in the charts BEFORE S.N.F. My mistake, they WERE the charts! And, Really, You need to hear some other songs before bagging on them. Here is my favorite song, EVER!

Now that THAT incident was settled, lets talk about linkin' park! if you want to, that is.
Yeah, yeah, I know I kinda started it, but, I don't want to talk about anymore.

I am an adult and I heartily disagree (as does every person between the ages of 20 and 60 that I've ever conversed with about the band). Firstly I said that their "musical influence" is summed up with Stayin' Alive, not their career. Their career was composed of lots and lots of popular songs (I've unfortunately heard most of them), but most musicians didn't really care because they were either coming up with something new, or got their inspiration from other bands. In any case from the perspective of any music loving adult the Bee Gees (it's two words, so please stop mushing their name into a single word, even I respect them enough to do that) are not particularly talented. They were popular. There's a massive difference. Most people enjoy catchy mindless drivel. Look at Michael Jackson, he epitomized catchy popular music like nobody else, but was he any good artistically? No. His songs had little to no depth lyrically, no complexity instrumentally, and no moving passion emotionally. Utter garbage, but it was catchy. It was simple enough to learn the lyrics, required almost no talent to play on any instrument, and easy to listen to in any circumstance. If you want to find talent you have to look much farther down some silly "chart". Take a look at real jazz musicians and you can find incredible skill. Jazz has the complexity and emotion in one jam session to put the Bee Gees to shame over their entire career. You don't listen to jazz, so much as you feel it. It has all the skill and intelligence of a classical orchestra to assail your mind with it's wondrous precision, mixed with the soul and spontaneity of youth that you feel deep in your heart as you hear something incredible, that has never been played before in the entire history of our planet, created right in front of you. That is talent.

... And yes I'm passionate about it.

If I found myself in a dance competition with John Travolta (whom I greatly respect for many of his roles) I'd probably reenact a memorable scene from Pulp Fiction, but I'd be Bruce Willis.

As for the "anime crap" that you are so adamantly opposed to I feel I must point out that I've only posted a couple songs from anime, much of which has been removed by YouTube over copyright crap. Most of the music I've posted is arranges of video game music, specifically from the Touhou series, which was all created originally by one person. If you don't like video game music, then that's just too bad for you, because I'm still going to post more video game music as time rolls on.

Linkin' Park is still mediocre at best and I find them dull and uninteresting to talk about.

As for what I am listening to right now, I have been in the mood for some slightly more normal music, which you've still probably never heard before.

Spar, what are your opinions on drum and bass? I don't believe you've mentioned that particular flavor of music.
